The dimming light of the ritual platform slowly fizzled out until only a weak light remained before the platform returned to its inactive state. The members of the class mutter amongst each other as they showed off their starveillua to each other and the ability they recieved from them. Alovain glanced around at his classmates behind him and saw all of their starveillua were various small animals/reptiles/non-human creatures.
"So, you human types are actually rare?" Alovain remarked mentally with his arms held in front of himself.
"Duh, where have you been to think that wasn't the case," Lumi remarked with her voice being telepathically playing in Alovain's mind.
"I guess my home town's an odd place then...," Alovain said mentally. Lumi giggled in her head at Alovain's statement.
"I dread to think what you'd consider odd," Lumi mumbled amusedly. Alovain rolled his eyes as Lyiana strolled over and shuffled in front of Alovain while the other students began leaving in their pairs.
"Alo, check out this cutie~," Lyiana said as she held Scylious up to Alovain. Scylious stuck the tip of her tongue out of her mouth while keeping the same expression.
(Scylious is a female cat-sized ten-tailed cyan kitsune cub with half the tips of her tails tips are pink and the other half are violet)
"She's so derpy, isn't she precious?".
"I think her brain needed to reboot after seeing someone as brilliant as I?" Lumi said smugly. Lyiana lowered Scylious from in front of her face and gazed upon Lumi lazing about on Alovain's raised arms. Lyiana blinked a few times before she perplexedly chuckled.
"What's with the naked kid?".
"Starveillua," Alovain and Lumi stated in unison. Lyiana blankly blinked before following up her blinking with an audible gasp. Lyiana raised a shaky hand and pointed it at Alovain.
"I-is... are they a human-type starveillua!" Lyiana exclaimed in shock with a stutter. Lumi smugly grinned and tightly crossed her arms over her chest.
"Now that is the correct... well, the average response for someone laying their eyes upon my splendid form," Lumi said cockily. Lumi smugly grinned as she rubbed the tip of her nose.
"Is that so?" Alovain asked with an unphased tone. Lumi's expression swiftly turned to a pouty one at hearing Alovain's seeming disbelief in her statement.
"Well, what else could've made them act like goldfish?" Lumi asked as she pointed at Lyiana and Scylious.
"You being a streaker?" Alovain said. Lumi blushed slightly at Alovain's comment as she remembered her current choice, or lack of, wardrobe.
If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
"Fair enough," Lumi mumbled sheepishly.
"It's like all of your emotions were put into her," Lyiana remarked as she placed Scylious on her head.
"I wouldn't say all," Alovain stated.
"Like?".
"How would I know; the formation of a starveillua isn't a process someone does consciously.". Lyiana itched the side of her face at Alovain's comment.
"Well, I figured you'd know," Lyiana muttered.
"Which one, the emotions of mine that were used to Lumi or the process for forming a starveillua?".
"I... never mind," Lyiana uttered exhaustedly. Alovain glanced around and noticed everyone else had already left.
"I suggest we get a move on those tasty treats are calling my name!" Lumi exclaimed as she clung to Alovain's back and draped her arms over his shoulders. Lumi glanced at a nearby nebula-coloured crystal. Lumi bit the tip of her finger until a bit of blood came out. Lumi flicked the drop of blood at the crystal. The second the blood hit the crystal, Lumi made a black wavey minus sign appear in her left eye.
Lumi smirked and clapped her hands. The crystal exploded into a cloud of crystalline dust which swirled into multiple tunnels as they spiralled over to the group. The cloud of crystal dust gathered over Alovain as it formed into the shape of a trench coat. After Lumi clapped, the composition of the coat rearranged, and its material morphed into white fur.
The white winter-furred coat with fluffy black fur cuffs and hood trim dropped down and landed on Alovain and Lumi. Alovain shuffled the trench coat around until he was wearing it like a cloak. Lumi poked her head out from the collar of the trench coat with a proud grin on her face.
"And that's how it's down, not the blood part wasn't necessary," Lumi stated as her left eye returned to its normal state. Alovain nodded silently.
"More or less, if the blood thing was used as a way to get around the physical contact requirement, but was making clothing in my size necessary?" Alovain stated. Lumi assertively nodded as she rocked backwards and forwards.
"Of course, we can both use it that way," Lumi explained. Alovain rolled his eyes as he turned to a fidgeting Lyiana.
"So, are we leaving now or not?" Lyiana asked with a slightly worried tone of voice.
"What's the rush?" Lumi asked unamusedly.
"The longer we wait the more likely we'll encounter the golems of these ruins," Alovain stated. Lumi nervously mumbled as she slowly slinked under the trench coat. Alovain turned towards the entrance to the ritual grounds before the group walked towards it.
Later in the labyrinth, the four wandered around the barren halls. Lumi had her head slightly covered by the hood of the fur trench coat as she darted her eyes around.
"Despite how long we took to leave, there sure is a lack of any monsters; I at least expected to run into one," Lyiana remarked.
"Indeed," Alovain remarked.
"Maybe they think you're one of them, so they're leaving us alone," Lyiana remarked jokingly. Alovain placed a hand on his chin and pondered Lyiana's remark.
"It was just a joke.".
"I know... but it could be because this coat was made from Stello Hymn the monsters are unable to detect us using magic," Alovain explained. Lumi shuffled around under the coat before she fully poked her head out.
"Well, it is to be expected when something made by me to be amazing, r-right?" Lumi said proudly. The group spotted the shine of sunlight gradually growing in front of them as they approached the ruins' entrance.
