Chapter 2

"It wasn't me," I retorted, losing my cool as the faculty member accused me repeatedly, ignoring every explanation I tried to give. My heart pounded with frustration and anger. I clenched my fists, trying to stay calm, but it was impossible.

"If it wasn't you, then who could it be?" she questioned back, looking at me with a smug smile that made my skin crawl. How I wished I could wipe that expression off her face.

"Then check your fucking CCTV footage, you dumbass," I snapped, not caring about the disrespect in my tone. I was fed up with being treated unfairly.

"I will not tolerate such behavior, young miss. This is your first offense, and I hope there will be no next time," she uttered, handing me a yellow card with an air of finality.

What is this, a game, and she's the referee?

How pathetic.

I rolled my eyes at her words and stormed out of the guidance room, my blood boiling. How dare she act like the dean when the dean wasn't even there?

What a bother.

Now, where was I supposed to go? I didn't know where my dorm was, and I had no idea where I was on campus. My thoughts were a jumble of frustration and confusion.

I kept walking, my feet moving on autopilot until I reached the next building, which was painted a bright yellow. I continued walking, trying to calm down, when I heard footsteps and screaming in the distance. Panic surged through me, and I instinctively hid behind a nearby locker.

My heart raced as the footsteps grew louder. Suddenly, someone grabbed my arm and dragged me into the locker, slamming the door shut. I had no time to protest as the screams and footsteps stopped right in front of us.

Through the small gaps in the locker, I could see what was happening. My eyes widened in horror as I watched an axe slice through someone's head, blood splattering everywhere. I pressed a hand to my mouth to keep from throwing up.

This is disgusting. And I don't want to see it.

Even with the revulsion churning in my stomach, I forced myself to stay quiet. I knew these people would kill me if they discovered me.

I'm goner bruh if that happens.

Just when I thought it couldn't get worse, the killers suddenly dropped to the ground as if they were dead. The person behind me chuckled before opening the locker.

"Painless death indeed," he muttered, examining the body in front of us. But still distancing himself from the scene.

I had no idea what was happening. It felt like I was in a dream. Well I'mused to this kind of dream but in person? I could never. If this a dream I don't want to be here.

"You better get out of here. They might come after you," the guy mumbled without looking at me.

"But where am I supposed to go?" I asked, my voice shaking. I didn't want to experience another scene like this.

"To your dorm, to your family?" he asked like saying the obvious.

Bruh I know that. The problem is where to find that.

"And where am I supposed to find it?" I asked again.

"Depends on your family" he answered before standing up and fixing the veil of his hoodie"

"Are you a Shadowveil perhaps?" I asked, hoping for some clarity.

He was silent for a moment before answering, "That's something I cannot answer." There was a heavy pause, filled with unspoken words.

"Then where is the Shadowveils' building?" I asked, desperate for any information.

But he shush me down.

"Never let them know your family," he warned. "See the building across? That's their building. Forgot that we had this conversation"

I looked at the building he indicated, then turned back to thank him, but he was already gone.

Wow, that was fast.

Summoning all my courage, I walked towards the building he had pointed out. My steps were slow and hesitant, every sound making me jump. The memory of the gruesome scene replayed in my mind, making my stomach churn. I couldn't believe this was happening.

Reaching the building, I took a deep breath and entered, hoping to find some answers. The inside was dimly lit, with shadows dancing on the walls. I felt a shiver run down my spine.

I wandered the hallways, feeling lost and vulnerable. Every now and then, I heard whispers and footsteps echoing around me, making me a bit paranoid. I needed to find someone who could help me understand what was going on.

Finally, I stumbled upon a room that seemed somewhat normal. There were bookshelves lined with old books, and a faint smell of dust and parchment filled the air. I entered cautiously, looking around for any signs of life.

"Hello?" I called out softly, my voice barely above a whisper.

I scanned through the books looking for answers to my confused mind and when I did I didn't think a second to open it up.

On the book cover I read the words Drakonscreach Institute. Scanning through the pages there are multiple info's about the school. But what catches my attention is the 5 families of Drakonscreach Institute.

First on the page is Viperclaw it is said to be that their family specializes in traps, tactics, and bombs on the next page I read that their family's mastery is in plotting and strategic deception.

So brain is what function here to make a good strategy.

Next was Ironfist there where multiple pictures of I think is a mix of martial arts uniform. It is said that they specializes in combat and physical defense and masters in joint knockouts and close-quarters fighting.

Well that is quite a talent.

Third on the list was Sharpshot. Which I conclude is the use of guns and equipment

I see a lot of people good at this so I wasn't that surprised. It is said that they are masters in aiming and marksmanship.

Second to the last was Alchemyst. They specializes in science experiments.

Now this is way cooler than the others as I have a talent on alchemy. It is said that they are master in painless death and experimental killing techniques.

This must be the talent of the victim a while ago. Alchemist are quite the danger for me.

And last was my house family.

"Shadowveil" I mumbled before scanning the pages carefully hoping not to miss a single word. According to the book Shadowveils specializes in stealth and assassination.

I gasp in the knowledge that I was reading.

Also it was said that they are masters in killing without a trace and remaining unseen.

Killing?

There everything makes sense killing was normal at this place or it might be not normal but killing is a thing in here that's the thing that I was sure about.

I close the book and there my body flinched away when a figure of a person is right in front of me.

"Nice reflexes I'm Sandra by the way. Second year student in here." she stated before handling her hand for a handshake but I refused to move an inch.

"Oh I see, are you new here" she asked but I still stayed on being quite. I shouldn't haave mood now she knows that I have quite the reflexes I might get targeted by them.

"I apologize I was surprised to see someone" I said acting friendly and shaking her cold hands. I can feel it roughness and a spot where scars use to be there.

"Well I'm sorry for interupting your peaceful reading activity but we are called in the Gymnasium. Do you mind coming with me?" she asked. "Of course" I said before returning the book and coming with her. She smiled and we continued walking.

Despite my fake attitude I remain my distance on her incase she does something out of the blue.

Trusting someone was not in my momentum.
