Prologue

I knew I was different from the moment I could remember. My mom and dad always told me I was more mature for my age.

I knew it too.

Where the other children desired to play simple games, I desired more. I liked to books beyond my age group, and the games I could play involved complex thinking.

When I decided to talk, I could weave a tale. Enough that it impress even the adults.

More then once, I had retold a movie I recalled, and enthralled the class for an afternoon. Tales of heroes of villains in faraway lands. Or futuristic threats that made no sense.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

I recalled with clarity, memories of another life. Yet it was always memories of books, and novels. Of films via movies or seasons. There was a lot of digital games as well.

To my parents, I was a well behaved, if a little lonesome child. I wasn’t lonely, but neither did I crave the excitement of everyday adventures. Their simple games quickly grew tedious.

I either impressed, or worried, teachers when I selectively played games with my peers. More often then not, I was trusted to be the judge for games. A rule keeper who was fair, but a strict.

With my sister Carmen, I spoiled her rotten. I caved in to her requests for games, and even portions of my desserts. Unlike other siblings that fought, I got along really well with her.

I don’t ever recall another family. Another person. Another life.

There was only my friends, and my family.

Bonds that I knew the value of. Thus I cherished them, the days of laughter and fun.
