Monsters
Gold coat boars: a type of boar monster very similar to it’s animal counterpart. The only differentiating traits were the aggressiveness of the monster, the yellow-dirt color of their fur and the generally slightly bigger size of their bodies. Gold coat boars are usually used as “training” monsters in most human regions in the Raiden continent, it’s a monster that specifically lives in small forests of said continent. It’s a very prolific monster hence one of the most hunted by adventurers and soldiers, also because of the price their skin, meat and bones fetch. It eats anything, from vegetables to human meat, and hunts in packs of five to twenty. While there have been deaths because of their great numbers, they are mostly from military recruits, young adventurers and desperate farmers, it is rare for someone with even the minimum experience to fall prey to the Gold coat boars.
Silverspine seaworm: a monster of the family of the sea serpents, closest relative to the Black sea serpent. It’s body is of a pearl white color, completely empty of scales. It’s smooth skin is used to make purses and luxurious saddles. Unlike many of it’s family, the Silverspine seaworm prefers to live in lakes and deep rivers, though it can still be spotted in salted waters it is quite rare. It’s most preferred habitat is the Halfmoon lake near Alamara. There, in the deepest parts of the lake, entire colonies of those monsters are living. Being a nocturnal monster that reaches three meters in length, it needs a lot of space hence it stays clear of the banks. A Silverspine seaworm attack is very rare.
Fiend: one of the monsters at the top of the silver-tier know as “devil spawn” or “rookie killer”. With the upper half of it’s body of a gorilla covered in black fur, the lower half of a bull, the tail of a lizard ending in a puff of fur like a lion, the neck of a horse, the head of a monkey, pale white antlers, claws of a reptile and long, sharp fangs like knives, it’s grotesque appearance strike fear in the hearts of every land. So much that many bedtime scary stories include it in their midst. The find has one of the strongest tastes for flesh, especially human’s.
It doesn't have a clear habit but it’s a known fact that it prefers either dead or deep forests. It sometimes happens that an unlucky village finds itself in the way of a migrating fiend. The result end always in a bloodbath.
There is not much information on the fiend’s behavior other than it’s greed for destruction, chaos and blood. It doesn’t hunt in packs and the way it reproduces it’s still shrouded in mystery. There are no reports of an Alpha fiend or a mutated one but legends speak about a fiend with fur blacker than the night itself. So black that even the light of the sun doesn't dare to approach it. Such a monster is described to be two times taller than the usual fiends and it’s cravings are also doubled. The legends tell of the devastation it leaves in it’s wake but there had been no cases where it was ever spotted hence the truth behind it’s existence is still but a legend.

- The places marked in black are places whose existence is known but were never explored and their borders are still unknown due to the impossibility(for various reasons) to land on those islands.
- While I did paint the whole sea blue, the vast majority of it (especially the very center) is completely unknown and traversing it is akin to suicide.
- The square symbols refer to the capitals while the circular ones are normal cities, though the size of the symbol determines the importance of the city.

- Not all forests, rivers, mountains and cities were featured on the map, only the most prominent or known by the protagonist.
- The size and the symbol itself determine the importance and wealth of the city.
- The names of some rivers, lakes, forests and mountain ranges were not cited due to their superfluousness but will surely be cited in the book.
Author’s notes
And so, we are now at the very end of the second volume. With this second volume being one of the longest of the bunch, with more than 30 chapters, we can now finally delve deeper into the story. Things will now start to move faster. From volume four we’ll start to count in months and years rather than days, but volume three ( short as it may be) it’s still in the way.
In all honesty, I have high expectations for volume three: The abyss’ maw. Things will change fast and time will be a sword rapidly approaching the characters’ heads. The boundaries of life and death will, once again, dangerously taste each other as Raphael’s world changes both in and outside. There will not be a single dull moment. I hope you look forward to it as much as I do!
Regards, Ketsu.
