At night, she came back to her apartment. She loved this place. After all, this was her home, which she bought with her own money. The apartment was decorated in a modern tone. It was covered in beautiful purplish-green with a blue overtone. It wasn't anything fancy though, but it was big enough as it only housed her. This place even looked big. She locked her door and followed the usual routine.
As she was ironing the clothes, she heard knocks from the door. She frowned and got up, walked toward the door briskly and opened it. There she saw three unfamiliar men in black suits glaring at her in an obvious attempt to intimidate her.
"Can I help you?" she asked in politeness.
"Listen here girlie, our boss wanted to see you so you better come with us or-" before he could finish his words, an obsidian-coloured pistol, shimmering in mysterious symbols, was already at their throat. They immediately grimaced as they looked closely at the pistol.
"This thing. Such powerl. Where did you get this?!" the leading man asked in a panic.
"I am the one who created them," she said.
"Impossible! That would mean that you are-" before he could finish his word, he and his companions were shot in the head, and then a portal appeared under them and tossed them to some random corner of the universe. Since, three months ago, she received visitors like that often. She didn't know what happened, but it really annoyed the hell out of her. Normally she would find who is responsible for all those and annihilate them. However, she has already passed that dark period of her life. So, she just let them. They would never amount to anything anyway.
Well, most of them thought she was an easy target, but she could say that the joke is on them because she was far from the easy target. Enough said, with this frequency, she ought to search for the reason for their visit soon. She was a normal girl, at least in the eyes of others for as long as she could remember, but those who were after weren't normal in the slightest. So, it must be something on her or someone who has been spreading false rumours about her and…. by disposing of them like this, she was just validating them.
‘Fuck,’ she cursed to herself at her stupidity. But that could wait, now she has to get back to her work, and homework won't do itself. Well, she could make them do it themselves, but figured that would defeat the purpose.
She heard knocking again. She creased her eyebrows and opened the door, gun blazing. Instead of other retards, she found her best friend Esmeralda Star staring sheepishly at the gun in her hand.
"Hey, love, may I ask why are you playing with something like this?" She asked as she stretched out a finger gingerly and pushed the pistol away from her face.

She sighed, "to protect me from retards," she answered back quite casually. Esmeralda nodded sagely at her answer.
"I agree. In this day and age, a girl should have something to protect herself. But don't you think a gun was a little bit overkill? Especially this one shining mysterious symbols that were screaming ``I am not a normal gun," Esmeralda said as she eyed the gun again.
"There is no such thing as overkill, if anything, this gun was still lacking," she answered.
"Where did you even find this thing?" Esmeralda asked, her brow furrowing.
"Picked it up from some dump," she answered as she stored the gun again.
"So, what are you doing here? Come to invite me with you again?" she asked Esmeralda, who grinned back.
"Oh yes! Come with me, let's go kick some ass," Esmeralda said, her tone switching back to the cheerful tone as the thoughts about guns were forcibly redirected.
Playing with Esmeralda's mind left a bad taste in her mouth, but she couldn't let Esmeralda know the truth about her. She didn't dare even imagine the fallout that would result. After all, she did something so bad that she could be labelled as one of the Cataclysmic Lords. While she covered her traces regarding the events to the point where even an omniscient existence wouldn't be able to track her, she still didn't want to take any chance. The only reason she showed it to those retards was that they were already dead men from the moment they mess with her.
"No, I have to wake up early to prepare, so I couldn't stay late. But you are welcome for a sleepover if you want," she answered.
Esmeralda grinned at the word sleepover and quickly invited herself in. She just sighed in exasperation and allowed her in.
"So, what are we gonna do?" As Esmeralda was asking, she took out her bag and split the content on the desk.
"Now, we did our homework. You should also go back to take your own homework too," she answered as she picked up the first subject, Maths.
Esmeralda blanched, "yes, should have guessed it," she said to herself woefully.
"I still couldn't believe you like to study," Esmeralda said as she looked at her friend doing homework. As for her, she had forgone doing her homework, instead opting to copy from her friend when they were at school.
"Why? It was relaxing," she replied.
Esmeralda shook her head and went quiet as she watched her concentrating. In her eyes, her face when she was concentrating was very cute. It was times like this that made her remember why she fell in love with her.
At a distant land,
"Please forgive my incompetence, my lord, all the agents we sent didn't return," a white hair butler said to the lady on the throne.
"Hmm, it seemed like I had to go by myself this time. After all this long time, we are finally about to meet again," the lady muttered the last part to herself.
"As you will, my lord," the butler bowed.
"You may leave," the lady ordered. The butler bowed again and left the room, leaving the lady alone with her thoughts.
