Prologue -
“Your highness we have brought in these two, they were causing a ruckus in town… some nonsense about the devil.”
The king rises to his feet in a complete rage, his face turning red.
“HAVE YOU FOOLS NO IDEA WHAT TODAY IS? A ROYAL CHILD WILL BE BORN AND YOU ARE BRINGING THAT NONSENSE ONTO THIS HOLY LAND!”
One of the men starts maniacally cackling. The king slowly grows more unsettled as the man continues laughing. The other man opens his mouth with a smirk.
“Tonight he shall return to one day bring an end to the holy land. Nothing but death and darkness await.”
“Arthur!” The king demands.
“Yes, your highness?” The knight says as he kneels.
“Have these two executed immediately, I must see to my wife.”
“On it, your highness” he says before taking the men away.
The king walks through the massive stone corridors of the castle to the doctor's quarters. Right outside the door he hears a baby crying. He smiles and takes a step into the room, but that smile soon turns to despair. The queen lays motionless in the bed with a mess of blood.

“I’m sorry your highness, the birth was too much for her… I’m afraid there was nothing I could have done.”
Tears stream down the king’s face. “Can I please see my child?”
The doctor approaches the king with the baby in hand, “it’s a girl your highness, the last word her majesty said was Luna.”
The doctor goes to give the king his daughter but upon coming in contact with his daughter the king falls over holding the cross hanging around his neck.
“YOUR HIGHNESS!” the doctor calls out in a worrisome manner.
He uses one hand to cast some healing magic before the king smacks his hand away.
“DON’T WORRY ABOUT ME YOU FOOL!” the king says before regret instantly overcomes his face.
“Please just” the king pauses, “just take care of my wife, and give me Luna.” The king says, choking back tears.
Upon receiving Luna the king feels another sharp pain from the cross, but is able to power through it this time.
“I’m sorry Liz, the power of the devil runs through Luna, I need to put a stop to this before it spirals into something uncontrollable.”
The sound of rain crashing against the windows permeates the halls of the castle, the only light being from lightning.
“Father is everything-”
“Please go back to your room you two” The king pauses and chokes up, “I’ll be there to put you boys to sleep soon.”
The king bursts into his quarters and sets Luna down on his bed. He pulls a knife out from under his coat and imbues his holy magic through the knife. Luna opens her eyes and looks right into her father’s. The King’s hand starts shaking before he breaks down crying and the knife drops out of his hand. A loud knock sounds from the door. The king wipes his eyes and opens the door to see Arthur standing before him.
“Your highness those men-” he pauses, noticing the broken look behind the king’s eyes, “what happened? Where’s her majesty….”
The king looks back at Luna and then back at Arthur. “Ah, I see, my apologies your highness, I shall take my leave and let you grieve.”
As Arthur goes to leave the room the king calls out to him, “Arthur, you’ve always been there for me as my most trusted knight, I’d like to call upon you again for my most important request.”
Arthur nods at the king, “anything for you, your majesty.”
“Take my daughter and lock her up in the holy tower. Do not tell anyone of her existence, it’s too dangerous for anyone but us to know about her.”
“Wait your majesty, this is crazy why-”
“My wife was murdered by thieves from now on before she could give birth, that’s the story we will go with.”
“I don’t understand your highness, but I will take this to my grave if that is your request.”
