Intro: Me, Myself and I

Falling in love is a wonderful thing, but have you ever fall for someone so hard that you just forgot how to breathe?

So..I am dead. At the dawn of my supposed to be wonderful teenage year, I am dead. When the other girls are getting ready for their prom, well I wear my prom dress while lying in my coffin; how fashionable is that? I died on my prom night; I accidentally killed myself. So, I have been roaming around with no purpose, the world of the dead works is kind of strange. If you died from natural causes or your time is up, you get to move on. However, if you are like me and you took your own life; you get to hang around until your official time comes. I have no idea when that is, you see I don’t have the grim reaper’s phone number or email so I can figure out what it is. So, it is all a waiting game. It has been two weeks now since my death, and so far it has been pretty decent. But I do miss living. The first week I took advantage of the fact that I could go anywhere for free to travel around the world. But, now I just have been hanging out around my family; I miss them. Without me, things are already changing. My Dad got a new offer on a job, so my family is moving. My Mother completely agrees with moving, but for her it is more of a coping method. She would cry at night sometimes. I want her to move on, so moving to a new place is a great thing. I will be going with them of course! They are moving to Florida, like why couldn’t they have made this decision when I was still alive. I might have not killed myself. But…the past is the past.

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

“Are you not bored?” I look behind me to see Mrs. Graham.

Mrs. Graham is the old lady next door. She died a couple of weeks before I did, she fell down in the bathroom and broke her neck when she hit the toilet. It is hilarious! I would make fun of her all the time for that. But I also pity her, her kids left as soon as they are legal. Then they never even pay her any attentions. I remember during the holidays my parents would invite her to come join us, but the old lady always politely decline; saying that her kids are going to show up when in reality they never do.

“Well, Mrs. Graham, I do not have the first class ticket to move on like you do. So, this is as productive as my days could get, until it is my time.” I flash her fakest smile. Then turn back to my family.

“You know, you are stupid for taking your own life. You had your whole life ahead of you..” She sits down next to me on the curb.

“I know that now, but what can I do? It was a stupid decision in the heat of the moment.” I look at her. She slowly put her hand on my shoulder.

“Well, things won’t get any worst for you.” She lets out a little chuckle.

Mrs. Graham is right….things surely can’t get any worst. Well…..until I decided to go to Florida.
