Until Flower Tears Us Apart
AT US, AFTER 40.000 YEARS

AT US, AFTER 40.000 YEARS

"Thank you"

Who said these words? A poor dude asking for money beside a supermarket. A common individual found in big metropolitan cities.

Sadly, he never graduated. Though he had an incredible curiosity that has always pushed him to learn new things, even those that seemed the most useless.

The poor man, dressed in his favourite grey hoodie, comfy black pants strangely intact and his dark sport shoes with some big holes in the fabric, is nowhere to be found near the supermarket. Many are aware of his disappearance, but nobody questions it or misses him. He probably was killed during a recent robbery in a close jewelry performed by a group of aureans, in which three people were killed. Those being the owner, a worker and someone who found themselves there at the wrong time.

"An horrible ending, but at least there won't be anyone annoying us for money!"

But who are these so called aureans that I mentioned earlier? We still don't know for sure where they came from but a few decades earlier about 25% of the world's population obtained incredible and unreasonable power. The strength and speed of these individuals had increased exponentially, some more and some less. The governments of the world were not able to perfectly contain the matter since even the weakest aureans were as strong as entire squads of military armies.

To avoid total anarchy, the states entered into alliances with various aureans who wanted justice to continue to be forced on criminals undaunted and so what are called "Communities" were created which in the future also took on various other functions.

However, the beggar was not dead, he had gone to rest in a multi-storey car park where he kept all his stuff in a hidden corner. He usually returned there when aureans beat him for fun and needed to rest to recover.

He had been involved in that robbery and was certain he was dead but, unfortunately for him, he was still alive.

"What have I done to deserve this? I'm too retarded to think about it. Better to get some sleep."

And after that he fell asleep on the ground.

He is woken up in the middle of the night by some guys in suits, the only thing that distinguished them was their hair.

"Stand up sir. We need to ask you some questions."

The beggar looks up and sees, although obscured due to the lack of light, a typical badge of aureans officers. There was a metal symbol engraved on it that read "Arbast Community".

The poor man lowers his gaze, closes his eyes and speaks.

"What do you want from me?"

"You to get up before you can address us.”

The beggar gives a slight laugh, a cheerful and heedless snort of respect.

"Who the fuck do you think you are?"

The man in front of him grabs his right arm and pulls him up by force, a minimal effort for someone with an aura.

The agent is visibly angry but not because of the lack of respect, but because he is not allowed to kill this guy.

"You still don't understand? Get up and answer or we'll tear your limbs off one by one. Okay?"

The threat did not have the desired effect at all.

"Hahahaha. Okay do it."

"You're really one crazy bastard."

The suit and tie lets go and the beggar falls to the ground, hitting his ass on the floor.

Then the officer turns and motions for the other two to follow him.

"Let's go, this one has nothing to tell us."

"Aren't you going to kill me?"

"I just washed my jacket. Getting your shitty blood on it bothers me."

The three men disappear into thin air, typical of high-level aureans. Movements so rapid that they are not visible to the naked eye.

The next day, he returns to his usual place in front of the supermarket when he hears some interesting news coming from customers' conversations.

"Did you hear what happened in California?"

"Yes I did, feels like a movie! Who knows where those monsters come from! What are the local aureans doing?"

"They are protecting the people in the bigger cities, I hope they kill these monsters soon."

What appeared over there? The aura was already strange as a thing but even monsters?

It seems that these monsters have incredibly tough and elastic skin that can be used as material. So the more skilled aureans want to hunt them to sell their skin rather than protect people.

While walking along the street, the beggar sits on a bench to sleep since it is night and he doesn't feel like walking to the parking lot. While he sleeps he feels his coins being snatched from his hands and he suddenly wakes up. He opens his eyes and sees a tall man, dressed in black so that his pale skin and blue eyes stood out.

“What the fuck are you doing?”

Idle words, after saying this the beggar is brutally beaten. The man in front of him was an aurean and after breaking hundreds of bones in the poor beggar's body, he took the money and walked away. The last thing the beggar heard before closing his eyes was a girl calling for an ambulance and yelling at him to stay awake. But why would he? He has always managed to give himself a logical answer to everything that has ever intrigued him except one: what is death and what comes after? He was finally about to find out and he couldn't stand it anymore, this curiosity had tormented him since he was little.

"Help! Please sav-" a boy, probably an aurean, was running away from something, or rather someone, who had just cut off his arm and now his head as well. Those individuals are two people with very strange characteristics and overwhelming power.

The first, strongest, black hair with large furry wolf-like ears standing orange on his head. The eyes are very similar, an iris with a shade that starts orange from the top and ends black towards the bottom.

He has a slender build that is not befitting of the strength he can unleash and a black wolf's tail that ends with an orange tip, apparently an extension of his coccyx.

In his right hand he holds a thin one-handed sword stained with the blood of many people while he wears light armor that appears to serve more as decoration than protection.

The other one, on the other hand, isn't even armed, just as some aureans manage, she is using her hands to produce destructive effects. With her long, teal hair that moves with each explosion she causes and her eyes with their bright orange iris that observe the enemy and her companion on the left. It seems that she also has similar characteristics to the man next to her, blue and pointed ears on her head and a blue tail on her bottom.

A resolute voice resonates in the area empty of life.

"What do you think, captain? Do you say we could bring victory to Prince Heron within a year?"

The man stops and turns around but not before having attacked the victim's corpse by placing the sword in the heart.

"I don't think these were their most capable warriors, besides we only attacked with those laboratory beasts. Whoever is strong is probably hiding or waiting for the situation to get interesting. Let's go back to Oëiris, we must report what we have seen to the prince."

The girl bows her head slightly and then speaks in a joyful voice.

"Of course, Captain Grim!"

Grim is surprised by the respect she has when referring to him.

“Estin, I told you that you can also remove the Captain, we have been working together for 80 years!”

The girl approaches her captain and pushes him on the forehead. She appears to be angry.

"Then *Grim Anlixon* you call me Cerb! Instead of my clan name!"

Grim rubs his forehead.

"Okay, Cerb."

They both laugh a little and then walk towards some kind of very large portal. It is a green circle in nothingness and is used to move from Earth to Oëiris.

"Cerb, you dirtied the new dress Ara gave you last week."

The girl's pure white coat has a large blood stain on the bottom. Ara had sewn it with so much effort and love for her 250th birthday and she had already soiled it twice. First by accidentally falling to the ground when he had just received it and now with blood.

"Aw what the fuck! Now how do I tell her? She was already sad when I dirtied it once..."

Grim starts laughing, his clumsy assistant never stops pleasing him.

"What are you laughing at?"

"Nothing! Nothing! Sorry. I think you just need to wash it."

Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

Cerb has a bored look on her face.

"Ugh. I just hope I don't run into her before I wash my coat."

"I hope so too."

Both disappear as if they had never been there, now they are in Oëiris, their planet.

"Save the survivors! A medic here quickly, he's still alive!"

A team of soldiers in American uniform and randomly dressed people lined up to rescue the survivors of this clash. Before those two monsters arrived, a battle was being fought here against an army of beasts from another world. The Aureans who showed up to fight were around 70, the survivors are 12.

"C-Class Medic here! This one lost an arm and a lot of blood!"

A girl who went out shopping with her friends but was forced by duty to help in battle. Her name is Jessie Redlock and she is a class B Aurean medic and therefore considered high-grade.

Well yes, not all aureans have the same power. In fact they are divided based on their type and degree of aura.

As for types there are: Warrior, which includes all those who have an aura but without special powers beyond increased speed, strength, reflexes and senses. Mystifier, which includes all those who have an aura and are capable of creating various phenomena by concentrating their aura outside the body. Finally there are the Healers who manage to use their aura to heal wounds and illnesses, even the most serious ones.

The grade scale starts from F and ends with X, however 90% of the Aureans are not above grade C.

A class C Healer manages, albeit with difficulty, to regenerate missing limbs and organs without problems but not everyone has the stomach to continue doing their job after seeing what happens during the recent monster invasions.

"Come on, get a doctor here! This one has a gash on her belly!"

The fact that she is not yet dead even though her organs are popping out of her body shows that she is a strong aurean.

The girl on the ground raises her hand and squeezes the arm of the man next to her, she is starting to see more and more black.

"Please save me... I don't want to die here... My husband is waiting for me at..."

The man is worried and also angry about the lack of medics.

"Fuck! Move, a doctor here! He's about to die!"

"I arrive!"

A boy, aged 14 at most, runs towards the origin of the distress call. Although it doesn't seem like it, he is a medic.

Once he arrives, he places his hands on the enormous wound which begins to emit a bright yellow light. It is typical of the healing process through aura, a light that dazzles anyone who is not strong enough.

The girl who is being treated already feels better and begins to talk.

"Thank you so much! You saved my life!"

As soon as she is able to get up, the girl hugs the boy in front of her. The boy was caught off guard and was submerged by the soft gulf that is that woman's chest. Embarrassed, he tries to bring his head back but the girl's grip is too tight.

"Please... Miss, let me go!"

At these words, she realizes the mistake she has just made and immediately distances herself.

"I'm sorry! Now your help is required elsewhere, go and help the other wounded come on!"

He doesn't have time to turn around when a soldier shouts:

"We're done here! Come on, let's retreat."

"Anyway, what's your name miss? I'm Joshua."

The woman is intrigued by Joshua's questions.

"I'm Amy."

"What role do you have as an aurean?"

"They told me I'm a B-rank warrior. But before I felt weaker than ever..."

Joshua is shocked, how can she feel weak if she is the strongest among them?

“Are those monsters that powerful?”

Amy looks the boy in the eyes with a serious expression.

"Absolutely not, while we were resting another person armed with a sword came to exterminate us all... He was so fast that I didn't even see him hit me, I only heard the screams of my companions and an intense pain... "

Joshua is Interested and Concerned about the story Amy is telling.

"What does this person look like? Can you describe him?"

"Yes, he was strange. He had orange dog ears and tail... I think it's a bizarre detail."

A soldier approaches the two of them, apparently intending to ask some questions.

"Miss Hope, you said you were attacked by a person? Not a monster?"

Amy turns and looks the soldier in the eyes.

"Exactly. I'm sure it was a person with dog ears and a tail."

"It's very strange then. I will report it to the commander. It may be that these creatures are not the only ones invading us."

Suddenly each of the 30 people who were preparing the wounded and corpses in military trucks stops. Behind them, where no one was looking, an incredibly powerful being appears.

Amy is the first to turn around, followed by everyone else.

"Who... Who are you?..."

That being seemed to emanate a deep black gas from its body, just as aureans emanate golden light.

"Hello Humans, I am what you might call *invader*"

The soldiers look at the aureans, they understand nothing of what this person is saying.

"What do you want from us, you damn monster!"

The mysterious individual is dazed, his aura is not translating the words of these here.

"Sorry, but can you at least understand me?"

Joshua answers first after a few moments of silence.

"I do. I hope it's the same for you."

At these words, the person in front of him clasps his hands and claps three times in joy.

Joshua notices that this one has black nails, long, very sharp and encrusted with blood. Furthermore, he also has characteristics similar to those of animals, i.e. gray rabbit ears and tail with red hair like the iris of his eyes.

"Hurray! Then, why don't you tell me where your sovereign is hidden? Or..."

Roughly a hundred people in shiny black heavy armor appear behind this person.

The two trucks leave without having loaded all the bodies or any passengers. The two drivers must absolutely report what they have seen and heard to their superiors.

"Oh? What is that stuff? Do you know, Mya?"

The armor next to the mysterious man takes off his helmet and reveals a person with long pink hair with white tinged parts and of course also some strange white cat ears on her head.

"No, captain. But I think we should intercept them. They could be possible unwanted witnesses."

"You're right Mya! You make me happy. 23, 51, 78, 91 intercept those guys over there."

Mya opens her eyes slightly wider, as if in amazement as four suits of armor disappear from the formation.

"Are you sure you want to send just four of us?"

"Those over there have no power, they are weaker than a sheet of paper. Maybe you should worry more about the ones in front of us Mya."

Mya turns to Amy, Joshua, the other aureans and soldiers gathered there. They are afraid to make any move.

"But for what reason?"

"I'm assigning you a mission. I'm entrusting you with the unit, your task is to extort information from them."

Mya bows her head slightly.

"It will be done, captain. In case they resist or have nothing more to say?"

The man points behind the humans.

"Kill them. I will go and inspect the area over there, I feel intense energy coming from there. I will also bring the other four with me so adapt accordingly."

"Certainly."

Mya raises her head as the captain in front of her disappears.

An American soldier raises his rifle and begins to scream.

"Soldiers! We will serve our country to the last! Better to die than betray!"

Everyone except the aurei shout in determined unison.

"YEAHHHH!"

They begin firing at the enemy formation with their rifles.

Seeing this, Mya realizes that she is in charge and has to give orders.

"Barrier now!"

The front line of soldiers kneels on the ground and touches the floor with one hand, raising a transparent and luminous green barrier. A few centimeters thick, it disintegrates projectiles it comes into contact with.

Mya orders them to advance as soon as the bullets run out.

"Don't let anyone escape!"

The armored soldiers draw their swords and advance towards the enemy at a slow but steady pace.

"Aureans! We're counting on... Where has that girl from before gone?"

Missing from the roll call is Amy, who is fleeing in a random direction thanks to the opportunity the soldiers provided with their futile attempt at survival.

“Leader, it looks like a human has escaped, can you detect its energy around here?”

Mya looks around, scanning the horizon for clues. But she doesn't perceive anything.

"Are you sure someone escaped?"

"I'm pretty sure, why?"

"I don't sense anyone nearby."

The soldier is amazed, yet he is certain that he has seen someone else before.

"It's very strange. May have I imagined it?"

"Don't think about it too much, these are too weak to escape without a trace."

Meanwhile, the armored soldiers manage to arrive and knock every single human to the ground.

One of them takes one of the corpses from a bag after being curious about them and asks out loud.

"Hey, are these guys dead?"

An American soldier responds, albeit with difficulty.

"Yes"

At these words, the armor punches the corpse in the head, completely disintegrating the skull into bloody fragments.

"Yes, these in the bags are all dead."

Then, another guy places his sword in its sheath and takes off his helmet, revealing short black hair with pointy cat ears as gray as his eyes.

"Hello humans, I am your leader from now on. Tell me, what is in the direction the captain went?"

An American responds cheekily.

"And who is this captain?"

The armored soldier holding him on the ground with his foot instantly decapitates him.

Everyone else is scared.

"Alas! What a shame to be such idiots! I'm the one asking the questions here! Now avoid dying needlessly and answer me."

All the American soldiers respond in unison.

"NEVER!"

Everyone is instantly beheaded, only the eleven C and D Rank aureans remain.

"You? Do you want to save your skin yes or no?"

A Mystifier is the first to give in with tears in his eyes.

"Yes! There's a city of millions of people over there! It's called Los Angeles! Please let me go!"

The aurean man is beheaded, as are all the others.

"I couldn't stand them anymore either. So weak and so fucking annoying with their shitty smell. Now what do we do Captain Mya?"

His proud smile is changed into a sad look by his captain, who proceeds to give him a slap so hard that it leaves a red mark on his skin.

"Ow! What happened?!"

"You retard! I give you orders and you kill hostages because you don't like their smell!! You're still a fucking child Salc!"

After this rebuke, the culprit bows on his knees, as do all the other soldiers.

"Sorry, Vice-Captain!"

Mya kicks Salc in the head, causing him to fall to the ground and roll a few metres.

"I don't care about your apologies. At this point there's nothing else to do here, let's reach the captain."

"YES MADAM!"
