Volume 1 - Chapter 4 Training

Training

“Here you go”, Elder Jerome tossed me a book. He then said, “Don’t worry about going home, I have already informed them that you will be staying here for the time being, how does that sound?”

“Thank you for going to the trouble, I had been meaning to sort this out with the Orphanage.”

“Great no problems then, let's see if can master some of the techniques in that book I gave you. I will give you a week's training time to see if you can grasp the concepts of some the Beginner Magic Techniques.”

I nodded and he gave me directions to my living quarters as well as the training grounds. Here is what i understood from his explanation about the house. It had the appearance of a hut on the outside but the interior and space of mansion inside. Elder Jerome had this house crafted for a long time ago and it is a precious magical treasure with the ability of creating an extremely large space within a small little hut.

……………..

The first day of training i spent doing the breathing exercises according to the information my head. The form of Kei that I absorbed appeared to be a mix of different types of colours, as I breathed in and out while chanting the required words the energy surged into my body. It appeared in the form of a rainbow as it was directly absorbed by the origin before beginning to form a rainbow swirl as It rotated from the centre of the origin.

I then used the rest of the week to practice the Techniques within the manual. These were <>, <>, <>, <>, <> and <>.

……………..

There was nothing in sight within this quiet forest as a Tier 2 - Fierce Wolf roamed Its territory, all the prey had either burrowed into the ground or fled. It was a prime example of a true hunter, standing at over 1.5 metres tall, sharp claws and iron like grey skin.

The fierce wolf wandered the forest in search of food, normally it wouldn’t hunt in this region which was void of all prey but lately there had been a commotion within the forest that stole its attention away from Its own territory. As the wolf neared Its destination, the figure of a human child was displayed in It’s eyes. This child was sitting cross-legged atop a boulder with his eyes closed controlling his breathing rate. The wolf's eyes shone with intense killing intent as it readied to pounce upon him.

It was at this point as the Fierce Wolf was about to charge that Shaun opened his eyes. He quickly took out a talisman from his pocket, and placed It on his forehead as he shouted out,“<>” as he propelled his Kei into the talisman to activate, and then his whole body was shrouded in a 5 cm thick brown energy. By the time the wolf had charged over the protective guard was in place, as it claws slashed across my chest the energy around me kept its integrity as I again propelled my Kei to disperse throughout my body and then used <> to move backwards.

The Wolf had a dumbfounded expression as it wondered how It’s razor sharp claws had not torn me into pieces but I did not dare waste. I quickly chanted the spell <>, around me the Kei in the world surged as it congealed into five 1 metre tall and 20 cm thick ice shards. The <> quickly shot towards the wolf with only a thought, the entire process had only taken at most 2 seconds and left the wolf wondering how things had developed this far.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

It was fast, simple and painless. All that was left was the Ice sculptor of the Wolf with five Shards sticking out of it, lifeless and motionless. The spell <> Could not only impale the target but also detonated a chilling cold within the target's body, leaving them frozen from the inside out.

Suddenly Jerome appeared out of nowhere

“Damn kid, for your mental energy to be so high. Aaaahhhh too messed up.”

“I……”

“Hahahaha, I’m only messing with you kid, with your high mental capacity you are able to shorten the cast for the two spells you used. Also you haven’t neglected your practice in both cultivation and familiarizing yourself with your techniques.”

“If you train until your are at the limit at which your Origin can no longer hold your energy that is the right time to start the condensation process. That for you will be quite far after all with your potential you have a massive energy limit.”

Shaun digested the Information he received from Jerome. This was a turning point in his life, this past week he had been able to not only grasp the spells but their concepts allowing him to cast them with a lot more power and reduced casting time. He had also gained quite the benefits from training in Kei, his skin had a lot more colour from the original pale white to a more healthy white as well as deep blue eyes that now seemed to be as deep as the ocean.

…………….

Today he was planning to go see how things were back at the orphanage as well as see what Kurt’s attribute is.

“Elder I plan to go back to Haven and see how things have been doing.”

“Sure, but stay there for two years, I will give you a book on Book on Magic but also you must start warrior training as well as and by the time you are all grown up come back and i will have your Magical treasure ready.”

Shaun already knew that Jerome was planning something like this and had already packed what he needed to head back to the orphanage.

In truth Jerome had already Imparted his knowledge to Shaun through a memory transfer a couple days ago, all the teachings he ever needed on magic were with him. They were sealed according to the level of understanding one is at so he would have to work hard to access the higher level theories and understandings.

“Thank you Elder Jerome, I will practice the Beginner Magic you have given me and I hope I will be able to reach my origins limit and breakthrough to become a Kei Foundation Disciple.”

With those last words Jerome waved his hand and a bright golden light cover Shaun as he instantly disappeared only to arrive in front of the orphanage entrance.
