Chapter 3: Apocalypse Store; The World of Magic

“Demons?” The word was foreign to him, even in his old world he’d never heard of such creatures.

At his question, rather than respond to him, the black marble suddenly began to assemble itself from the floor once more. This time it took several seconds longer than it had to create Caspians’ body as it created a looming figure that towered over him.

Slowly the marble turned a reddish hue as a hideous deformed creature presented itself in the room.

Boils, warts and bumps that looked like massive tumours grew all over it. It was at least three meters in height at least and that was with its arched back forcing it to hunch down.

“This is dangerous? He looks more like a freak-show than anything else…” Caspian muttered as he observed it, the creature itself didn’t surprise him rather he was more intrigued by the black marbles ability to mimic all types of things.

[According to the standard power rating of the worlds, this demon is a C Level Threat and is called a 'High-Tier Demon Noble'. It’s capable of disguising itself and corrupting minds allowing it to integrate itself into the power hierarchy of a world almost flawlessly. One of them is more than capable of taking down a small nation with enough time.]

“So, using them is the same as ensuring the destruction of the world, why did you even suggest it?” He complained, doubtlessly it was powerful but for what he needed to accomplish sending in a demon would do more harm than good.

[The host is currently unable to summon creatures of this level even if he would like to. Also, suggesting ways for the host to destroy a world are part of my core directives I am unable to not follow it]

‘Can’t argue with that…’ He thought to himself and sighed, “Lets go see this world before I make any decisions, who knows, they might have a way for me to save their lives and still destroy their planet.”

[Understood]

“I think I could get used to this.” Caspian grinned as he looked at the world turning on its axis from, it was serenely beautiful and made him feel like he had no other care in the world – maybe just for a moment it let him forget what he was about to do to the inhabitants.

[The Host is advised against relaxing.]

“Yeah yeah I get it, we’ve got work to do; lets go take a look at the world, maybe they’ll have a way to create a new planet or something for them to move to or is that too much to ask for?” He said with a chuckle before his body began to separate in black marble and fall through the atmosphere of the planet.

His consciousness separated from the stone and began to descend on its own, just as he entered into the planets low orbit he suddenly felt as if he was surrounded entirely by a thick layer of mud, every inch forward was agonisingly slow.

“System, what is this?” he tried to communicate his question, it was almost as if his thoughts had turned sluggish as well as it took several seconds for him to finish questioning it.

[Each world has a membrane surrounding it to protect it from foreign invasions such as this, due to the system however the world will be unable to detect that you are attempting to bypass it. Please be patient]

Several minutes later the pressure of the barrier surrounding him suddenly disappeared and he started to fall from the sky, he could see the world below him all the way to the planets curve. There were towns, cities and castles spread throughout – numerous lumbering towers also scattered the land from which he could sense an intense amount of energy radiating from them.

“What are they?” He muttered with wide eyes as he took in the view.

[Mage Towers, your current form makes you the equivalent of a spiritual being so your ability to sense abstract energies such as mana has been increased by a hundred-fold]

For the remainder of his fall he remained silent and simply took in the natural beauty of the world as he descended, the system tried to urge him on several times but he simply ignored it and focused on the landscape, taking it all in. It was a full hour before he made contact with the ground at the pace, while he had treated it leisurely he had also used the hour to remember the locations of some of the cities and landmarks he had been able to spot from his vantage point.

At ground level the marble was already waiting for him the form of a humanoid, it was simply waiting for him to return his consciousness to it before it took his form.

He took a second to refamiliarize himself with his own limbs before focusing his attention to what he had come here to do, “First mission: make contact with the locals” He said cheerfully before picking a direction to walk off in.

“How long has it been since I last walked in a forest by myself?” He wondered aloud, it was small things like these that he had missed; as a young child he had been able to avoid the palace guards and sneak out to play in the forests by himself but as he grew older it became harder and harder to sneak past them and gradually there came a time where he was never alone.

His every action would have at least one knight following him ‘guarding’ him or so they would say when in fact they were simply reporting his actions back to his father. There was no such thing as freedom for the prince of a nation, it was a position that required you to act in a certain way and defy who you are as a person for the ‘good’ of the people.

[Caution Advised. There are two natives of this world approaching at fast speeds, they may have detected the disturbance brought about by the descent of your consciousness into the world. Suggestion: Use the Apocalypse Store to protect yourself]

“Apocalypse Store?”

No sooner had he said it had a transparent panel appeared in front of him with a variety of options on it for him to choose from.

...

“How strong are the two approaching by this worlds standard?” He asked hurriedly not knowing how much time he had left until they arrived as he scanned the Apocalypse Store.

[They are both 1st Circle High Mages, on par with a Middle-Tier Demon Warrior]

Caspian looked at his list, considering that he wasn’t even able to see that creature on his list it had to be stronger than the ones he had available to him, he considered using creature creation for a moment but there were too many unknown variables like: was what he created instantly summoned or how much time it would take for him to finish – time wasn’t quite a luxury he was in possession of at the moment.

Without hesitation he pointed at his strongest option, “Summon ten of them.” As soon as he had finished speaking, a single grotesque flesh portal began to appear on the ground as red figures began to crawl their way up through it.

Ten High-Tier Demons stood in front of him in under a few seconds as they stared at him blankly like soldiers waiting for orders. “Use them to lure the mages away, they’ll be far more interested in these things than me.” He said as he looked at them in disgust.

Despite their forms their agility was nothing to laugh at as they rushed out on all fours, or in some cases fives or six as some had extra limbs, towards the direction the mages were coming from.

Without hesitation Caspian quickly made himself scare and fled in the direction of a city he had spotted earlier that was closest to him, his body felt supernaturally light and he didn't feel any fatigue as he ran most likely an advantage to not being made out of flesh and blood anymore.

A few minutes later he was notified of the death of the demons, all of them having died almost instantaneously as the mages chose to kill them rather than capture them.
