In the year 2075, a renowned company made it possible to imbed full scale electronics within a human brain with no serious implications involved. Within the implant are 5 small slots no larger than a finger nail's dimensions, including thickness. Each slot can host a maximum storage capacity of 5 terabytes.
This mind bending invention changed the world as we know it. Including the minds of people themselves. With complete access to the internet controlled by a single thought, great things were possible.
Medical science advanced, and anyone could be their own lawyer in a court case. So many great things were possible for the average man, so great in fact, restrictions were put in order with the intent of preserving the human capacity for change. The goal was to preserve the freedom of mankind. And so most things were closed off to mankind regarding storage types, and capacity for self knowledge.
Of course, with this new technology, even video games advanced dramatically with the recent release of personal A.I. programs. Avatars that could have access to every neural pathway of your brain. A second mind within your own. Guiding you along as you entered into a virtual world.
Along with this achievement, complete human migration into a digital state was found to be possible. And entire digital worlds were founded as grand new experiences. Worlds in which you can be assumed into a new digital body. Along with all five senses being active. It was now possible to live within a human controlled, dream-like state.
Video games were soon developed in order to take hold of this great advancement. A place where people could have real moments, and real very real experiences. You could taste the water you drank, and the food you ate. You could feel pleasure and fatigue. The entirety of human sensation was mimicked with 100% accuracy.
This was the start of the great “ARV’ revolution. ARV, being an acronym for artificial-reality-videogame. A place for real people to live out real fantasy experiences. Some used it as a place of relaxation and vacation. Others used it to simulate hard to practice professions like military drills, and extreme sports. But others found a home in stress inducing, and anxiety driven experiences only the most sadistic of people would seek. A place where they not only needed to be serious about their success, but also driven enough to accomplish near impossible odds.

“Mega structure: andromeda 4099” was one such game. A game functioning on the very fringes of human decency. An experience that would grant you a very real experience of death. A dungeon delving dark horror RPG set in a near infinitely deep planet of artificial design. A mega-structure the size of a celestial body, Agartha-227. Located within the goldilocks zone of andromeda galaxy’s binary black hole system.
It offers an experience like no other, but is also a place of deep seated horror.
Anything goes on Agartha-227. Theft, murder, cannibalism, and all manner of sick delights can be found here. It is not for the faint of heart, nor the brave. It is a place for true purpose to be found in desperation.
The very purpose of the game is simple. Gather your team, or play solo. Prepare your equipment, and complete the mission, or die. The premise is simple and easy to understand. But playing it is a different task entirely. As there is only one difficulty within agartha-227, gruelling, and your tasks here are many and varied.
Find and locate the specimen, collect items, search and destroy, base defense, survive, escape within the time frame, escort the vehicle, escort personnel, bounty hunt, hunt the enemy team, capture the enemy base, investigation, clear the area, purify radiated areas, observation, discover intel, destroy the swarm, and raid bosses.
Each of these missions can be found separately on the first floor of agartha-227. Floor one being the “tutorial stage” of MS99. But on the lower floors, anything below the first. Your missions include more than one objective at a time, and completion times range from hours to weeks. Death means failure on agartha-227. There are no checkpoints. Fail, and you die. Restart from the beginning.
Not all missions are straightforward, and maps vary greatly in both size, and terrain. You will find underground research facilities the size of cities, and mazes a mile wide. A light trek through below freezing mountains, or massive mechanical caverns. Do not be surprised if you find yourself below the ocean, or dehydrating in the desert. You are never safe, and you never will be.
Collect valuables, or what you can on your mission. Fail, and you forfeit your possessions. Succeed, and you can exchange what you have collected for credits. Exchange credits for further equipment, weapons, items, and abilities. You can also exchange credits to level up, and purchase mission related perks.
You may travel solo through agartha-227, or you may purchase A.I. companions with credits. Most travel in teams of ten, and even then it may not be enough. Form alliances, or factions. But be wary of those around you. You will not be competing alone on your mission. And loot will not be shared equally. Take what you want, if that is who you are. Or travel silent. Other parties can be worse than the horrors awaiting you.
Welcome to agartha-227.
