In the mystical land of Elysium, a fallen star foretold an ominous future for the world. People whispered fearfully behind closed doors, casting anxious glances at the sky. Meanwhile, in the sprawling empire of Cold Iron, a false sun blazed brightly, casting long and thirsty shadows upon the land. The people were plucking out their eyes to remain blind to the horrors they had unleashed. In the Republic of Nero, whispers from the King's forest prophesied unrest across the realm. A boy with a crown of leaves walked the path of silk and gold.
Outside a quaint cabin, a bear-like man with wild hair paced with worry. Each step he took caused his hair to turn increasingly white. With a roar of frustration, he cried out, "Why can't I be there?" The sudden outburst startled the nearby wildlife, and the man's agitated movements dug deep grooves into the earth.
Within the cabin, the miracle of life was taking place. My grandmother, a skilled herbalist, hovered over my mother, brewing a potion and administering a mild anesthetic. She muttered incantations that bent the air, casting ancient protections against ill fortune. My aunt Petunia, a sorceress of ill repute, lit up the room with her spells, runes pulsing beneath her skin with magic as she held as many healing incantations as she could manage.
The doctor was in the middle of this work, sweat covering his brow as he muttered, "WHAAAAAAAAA." It appeared that I was late, or perhaps the child was early? It didn't matter as the doctor swaddled the fragile bundle and cried out, "IT'S A GIRL!" My grandmother cried out in delight, having made a bet with my grandfather that the baby would be a girl. "NO, WAIT, THEY'RE TWINS!" My mother's face lit up with joy as her dream of two children was fulfilled.
Just then, the door burst open, and Derek stumbled in, wild-eyed and out of breath. A mix of instincts had informed him faster than the doctor. "IT'S A BOY!" he exclaimed, unable to contain his excitement. One of his endearing qualities was his inability to keep his joy in check. He had pushed through the storm, determined to be there for the birth of his children.
"Derek, we haven't even finished the naming ceremony yet-o-..."Mom trailed off as she finally locked her eyes on her crumpled husband. Derek had foreseen the possibility of overwhelming news and had the foresight to put on a blindfold. "You thick-headed goofball, you could have at least been here from the start!" My mother launched into an hour-long tease, ribbing him for missing the birth of his children.
Now, you might be wondering who I am. Well, I'm not the boy, and I'm not the girl. Though I am part of her; her primary skill, one of them, at any rate.
Time break! Roll back!
Greetings, I am Dr. Lera Clark, former geneticist at Arkham Labs and the mastermind behind the complete reconfiguration of the human genome. Eliminating many issues humans faced in a small population. While some may view me as a [Big shot], I see myself as an underappreciated asset in the field of genetics. My work was deemed unacceptable by the uninformed masses and I was dismissed from Arkham Labs. Permanently; but, let's be real, who needs their approval anyway? So, I was dead; no big deal, do you want to know what I saw though?
When I died as an atheist, I was sent to embark on a journey along others on the road of solitude towards reincarnation. It's called solitude because the road gradually erodes what makes you, well, you, until you're spiritually alone. Yes, it's a headache to wrap your head around.
There I discovered Karma is a tangible thing along the path, serving as a form of currency for upgrades and shortening the journey. I had an obscene amount of Karma due to my status as a super scientist and my discovery of a cure for two viruses and cancer.
So, I decided to skip the line and go straight to the good stuff. I called a cab and went shopping for some upgrades. Life as a scientist may have its ups and downs, but immortality has its perks. To the mortals reading this, try to keep up.
So, the big question is, "What did you reincarnate into?" Well, curious one, as I said in the beginning, I have become a skill, and yes, I'm in an RPG world.
"Why a skill?" You inquire because it is the most advantageous existence possible.
Think about it: my function is to help some shmuck improve, and I reap the benefits for each task I contribute to.

"Now why a girl?" You ask, and to that I say, "Let's focus on the matter at hand." But in all honesty, it's simply the outcome of the reincarnation process or fate being expectantly funny. Now enough about me; let's examine my "sister."

Impressive, right, truly remarkable how much you can improve on mother nature’s design. A true testament to the full potential of the human body. Most children start with an average of 5, but she has exceeded expectations and even surpassed the abilities of the average 10-year-old. I wouldn't be too surprising if she took her first steps ahead of schedule
Now the reason for all this is, of course, me, and my exceptional talent, the "Unique Skill-Twins Enhancement". Although the name may not be the catchiest, its effects are amazing.

Unique Skill:
Twin Enhancement:
- Body optimizations.
- Double skill acquisition.
- Greater regeneration.
- System shenanigans.
- One beneficial skill/mutation offered weekly.
- This Skill is hidden.

And as a unique skill, I was active way before she was born, grinding out that early bird experience. For context, a child who starts gaining and leveling skills before there tenth birthday will gain a small boost and some experience, known as the "unawakened's blessing".
They then officially "awaken" at the 10-year mark, and any experience gained from before is tripled, with awards given based on skill types and progression. A wonderful time to rejoice! For whom? The family, but more importantly, for me. As a unique skill meant for growth, this is a valuable time to game the system and min-max. The first thing I did was to update my "sister's" body and genome while she was still in the cooking in the womb. Nothing to her brain, mind you, made sure to steer clear of her brain and chemistry until she is of whatever age her community finds appropriate to give consent.
Well, time to go back to the grind; see you in a year!
