Chapter 2: Well maybe this time for sure

-----------------------------------------------------------------

John opens his eyes. The glaring pain immediately forces him to stop. His eyes hurt as if they have never seen light before.

"Err Mweh blegh" John opens his mouth.

What the hell, he thinks to himself. And then it dons on him. The soul crushing truth of the situation. The mind numbing realization of what has come to pass.

John died.

And he has been reborn. A baby. He is a baby. He feels his tiny body move about as he struggles with his new identity. His hearing is muffled, his eyesight blurry, his mouth tastes of...he doesn't want to know what his mouth tastes of. Giving up, he fades to sleep.

John wakes up in the arms of a gigantic woman. Unable to stop himself he cries in shock.

"Oh little girl don't be afraid, Mama is going to look after you." His new mother exclaims softly.

Despair fills John's heart. A girl. I'm a girl. Resignation soons takes place. Surely time would make it so he grows accustom to this new body.

A new face enters his vision, a man's. His father's. Her father. His mind begins to practice the transition.

"You're so beautiful aren't you princess, you're daddy's little angel." Her father beams with happiness.

"Cake." Her mother says, "You're name will be Cake"

Cake?! she thinks to herself, feeling tired she again closes her eyes.

Time passes and a disturbing cycle of sleeping and eating commence. And then Cake notices a change. No matter how much she sleeps, or how much she eats she always feels tired. Even for a baby. She makes less noise to conserve her strength. Begins to sleep more. Begins to eat less.

She opens her eyes to see her parents looking over her. Tears streaming down both their faces.

She doesn't understand.

Cake closes her eyes once more.

They don't open.
