‘This is interesting’ Hiro was looking over the complicated series of symbols that he had just written on a sheet of paper. He had been at a standstill in progress for the past three days—and tomorrow would be his deadline to complete the seal if he wanted to advance his studies—but it seemed that he had made a breakthrough.
Hiro’s most recent breakthrough was not due to anything other than a change in his view of seals. Hiro always thought that fuinjutsu was simply sealing things away. He always looked at the flying raijin as sealing oneself, then unsealing in a different location. In reality, Fuinjutsu kind of was just sealing, however, ninjutsu performed via ink and paper was similar to coding in his past life. Consider the code being able to program reality. This encompassed much more than sealing things, but the name seals or fuinjutsu became popularized when it was only a small portion of the art of jutsu shiki. Jutsu shiki consisted of things like explosive tags or even flying raijin, which had nothing to do with seals. Once Hiro made this observation his talent increased by a significant margin.
Hiro made the proper adjustments and began discretely pumping chakra into the paper on his lap with a coaster on top. The piece of wood began to vibrate before warping and disappearing for a split second before returning.
Hiro glanced around the classroom to make sure nobody could see what he was doing before taking note of what had just happened. He quickly began writing on a new piece of paper while looking at the old one for reference, making changes when necessary.
He was on the cusp of greatness he could feel it. As it turned out, Kushina had given him all of the practical knowledge on how he needed to make a storage seal, but he was expected to compile the things he learned and apply them to a seal.
Kushina was a better teacher than he gave her credit for. If he were to look at it like coding, then what Kushina had made him practice were commands and functions, and he was supposed to sort it so that the code could run smoothly.
What he needed to do was create a three-dimensional pocket in whatever the “storage dimension” was. Kushina didn’t know who discovered how to access this, but he didn’t care as long as he knew the string of formulas he needed to inscribe in order to open it, which she had taught him.
The issue was making the seal account for the size of the dimensional pocket, the size of the object, weight, mass, shape, time of storage, etc.
‘This one looks promising.’ Hiro squinted at the new piece of paper as he examined the differences between it and the old one. He sat the old one down and pumped some chakra in the new one while holding the wooden coaster on top of the formation.

It was gone? Just like that?

‘Let’s not get hasty, let’s see if I can bring it back.’ Hiro adjusted his hand towards the right side of the paper and pumped more chakra in. Either his chakra reserves were so pitiful that it exhausted him to use a small seal or he had messed up making the seal.
‘Probably a mixture of both.’
Nevertheless, with a small puff of smoke—unable to be seen by his classmates, as he was hiding it under his desk—a wooden coaster appeared into existence on his lap.
“YES! The Uzumaki have nothing on a master like me!”
“Hiro! Settle down! What are you shouting about!?” Yuto sensei shouted at the top of his lungs at the boy at the back. The sudden scream had nearly caused him to slip and fall. “And here I was, thinking that you had finally stopped goofing off these past few days.”
Hiro was far too excited about his achievement to care about whatever Yuto sensei was saying. “Yeah, Yeah I’m super sorry.” All he could think about at the moment was going to Kushina’s place to taunt her by letting her know how unimpressive it was to complete a storage seal at his age.

“Never a dull moment around here,” Minato said sarcastically as he looked over a paper that required some signature he assumed. The bane of all kage was not wars, invasions, or rogue ninjas that could move mountains. No, instead it was mountains of paperwork. Not even the strongest of rogue ninjas could conquer the mountain of paperwork of a kage.

“Come in.” Minato sighed. Probably more paperwork.
A man clad in a dark robe and bandages covering his forehead and right eye entered the room. He had a unique-looking X-shaped scar on his chin. If one were to look closely they could see signs of numerous years of battle.
“Elder Danzo.” Minato was surprised to see the older man, as he did most of his dealing with lord third because they were old friends. Minato liked it that way. This man gave him the creeps. “Always a pleasure sir, what can I do for you?”
“I simply wanted to have a chat. I hope things are operating smoothly if you ever need my assistance, do not hesitate to ask. As you know, I hold the village’s prosperity as a high priority, almost to a fault.”
“Thank you, I will keep that offer in mind,” Minato said, hoping that the unsettling geezer would leave.
“I hear that your wife has a new student.”
Minato quickly became angry “I have told you that I don’t need root to be spying on my house. Kushina is plenty capable of protecting herself. I understand your concern but we do enjoy our privacy.”
“The protection of our jinchuriki is integral to the protection of our village. The anbu will continue to operate but at a distance for the sake of your privacy.”
“I appreciate your concern, however-”
Danzo cut Minato off as if he didn’t care, “Speaking of anbu, I am wondering if I should recruit the boy. His scores in the academy are average, but he must be talented if he can catch the eyes of you and Kushina, there is no sense in letting that talent be wasted in something as soft as the academy.”
Minato kept his head down and had a scowl on his face. Danzo was eagerly awaiting his response.
“Hiro will not be joining root.” Danzo could feel the cold metal of a three-pronged kunai being pressed against his neck. He could also feel the sheer amount of bloodlust oozing off of the Hokage. This, however, was no longer the Hokage who he was speaking to, this was the yellow flash, the man who killed one thousand stone shinobi in a single battle in cold blood.
Danzo appeared to be unfazed by this, “Message received.”
Before either man could take any more action, the anbu stationed in the Hokage's office was on the scene to break up this little tiff, quickly separating the two men.
After exiting the Hokage’s office, Danzo looked towards the anbu with a rat mask. “Keep an eye on Hiro Tanaka.”
The anbu nodded before he flickered away.
Danzo’s one eye narrowed. ‘What makes that boy so special, that the Hokage is interested in him? Does he have talent in space-time ninjutsu like those three boys he trained?’
Back in the Hokage office, Minato grimaced, “Never a dull moment around here.”
