The suicide mission-2

The suicide mission-2

All eight chancellors desperately awaited the first words from the other end. The only thing that broke the silence in the room was the persistent buzzing of the computers. Despite their silence, the chancellors' expressions screamed, 'Troubles!' After a few minutes which felt like an eternity, a voice finally broke through the tension, drawing everyone's attention.

"Octagon Veranda come in! This is Ottan from H-1129 ship"

"This is Octagon Veranda Mission Control Centre, Jupiter Terco "

"Hey, we've got a problem" At that moment Madam Elsa whispered drawing everyone's attention to her for a moment. She was staring at her computer as if there was a ghost on the screen. Before anyone could say anything further the pilot's voice came back.

"We've got a problem! The weather is stormy. We weren't ready for this" They heard the pilot's unclear voice through the thunderstorm sound. Madam Evens's eyes shot up in surprise while Sir Bostic wiped his face anxiously. Sir Terko bit his nail realizing the gravity of the situation. Meanwhile, Madam Penny Browns hurried to Madam Blake to check the radar.

"It's the same area in Bermuda," she exclaimed, her eyes widening as she shared a meaningful glance with Elsa. She felt a rush of memories flooding back, recalling Bell Bostic's warnings in their last meeting about the dangers of the Bermuda Triangle.

"I warned you that Bermuda was a risky choice," Chancellor Bostic said, his voice laced with frustration, clearly indicating he had foreseen this mishap. After watching the screen for a moment he spoke with a glimmer of hope.

"Can we make it climb above the storm?" he asked hesitantly pointing his left hand to the screen. That lit up Jupiter's face immediately.

"Like back to the space station?" he said more to himself than to Sir a Bostic.

"Yeah, is it capable of doing that?" Bell inquired, equally curious.

"Of course," Madam Evens replied, hurriedly moving to a computer. The other chancellors eyed her taking a seat and searching through the data. She has always been the one that all chancellors look up to for answers, in technical issues, literally the tech genius.

"Well, only if it has enough fuel," Madam Jessy chimed in thoughtfully.

"We have enough fuel—well, barely enough," Madam Evens said, checking the data.

"Control unit, what are the possibilities of sending the spacecraft back to the space station?" Jupiter asked, scratching his beard anxiously.

"Well, the thrust failure might affect the stability through the storm" Madam Evens murmured.

"Can we keep hope?" Elsa asked her light brown eyes lit up.

" I think so" Kristein Evens murmured hesitantly.

There was a brief pause, and then they heard the voice of the control unit's chief engineer.

"The system says ninety present, sir," the chancellors exchanged a satisfied look.

This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.

"Are you sure about that?" Chancellor Bostic asked.

"Yes, sir. Our AI assistant has confirmed it," the chief engineer replied sincerely.

Chancellor Turko exchanged another glance with all the other chancellors as if he were searching for an answer on their faces. Then, his eyes eventually turned to Bell Bostic. Although he personally didn't like Bell, he knew how experienced Bostic was in the expedition field. In this kind of situation, he had the best advice possible.

"Do it," Chancellor Bostic said, confirming the choice with a firm node. Jupiter Turko immediately hit the button to connect with the H-1129 spacecraft.

"Ottan, do you hear me? We want you to go back to the space station. The control unit will send you the coordinates and details," Jupiter said in a firm tone, sounding every word as clear as possible as speaking with a toddler.

"Sir, I'm afraid we can't," they heard the pilot's voice, sounding more scared than before.

"Why?" Chancellor Turko asked, puzzled.

They heard Ottan trying to say something, but the sound of thunder swallowed it completely.

"Look at this," they heard Madam Evens' voice. Both Jupiter and Bell hurried to Evens' computer.

"What does it mean?" Madam Jessy asked, peeking at the screen above Jupiter's shoulder, just to find some moving diagrams.

"It means-" Kristin stopped mid-sentence and glanced over at the scared faces of Bell and Jupiter.

"We're losing control," Bell, who was too familiar with exploration missions, said in a cold tone, while Jupiter turned around, covering his eyes anxiously.

"What? Are you serious? But how could a thunderstorm do that?" Sir Shallow, the chancellor of the nanotechnology sector, presented a question paper.

Bell, who was walking back and forth, paused and turned his head slightly at Kristin to hear her explanation.

"I... I... don't know," Madam Evens said, making everyone wordless. If Madam Evens doesn't know, who else might have the answers? Then, she took a breath and continued.

"Maybe a lightning strike or some atmospheric magnetic condition, but, um, I can't be sure. These... these data make no sense."

There was a brief pause before they heard the pilot's scared voice mixed up with the storm sounds ."Octagon Veranda, We can't hold it! We're lo.......sing control of the ship! We are g..oin , down"

"What's happening to the communication system?" chancellor Terko asked in wonder looking at Madam Evens for an answer.

"Something interrupting the signals? "Elsa asked her eyes widened in surprise.

"I don't understand. Our communication system has never been down." Madam Evens said hopelessly trying to figure out what's happening to their high-tech communication systems."Is this even possible to happen?" Her mind kept repeating the same question.

"Oh gosh!Holyy- What's that! It's dragging us down......We're goiiii....ng to drown."

"Hold on we're trying to figure it out " Chancellor Terko said running his fingers through the key keyboard, almost looking like he was pushing every button possible on the keyboard. Everyone's eyes were stuck to screens except Bell Bostic. He was walking back and forth stuck in his world. He knew there was nothing they could do to stop the disaster from happening. His mind was working on the ' post-drawn spacecraft mission'. They heard the control unit trying to instruct the pilot but it seemed like the pilot wasn't in his right mind to hear any of it.

" Ottan, try using the thrusters to boost up! It might help. Ottan, do you read me? Ottan!" Madam Evens screamed nervously, trying to help the pilots save their valuable spacecraft.

"What happened? Why is he not answering?" Chancellor Shallow asked nervously trying not to admit the scary truth. Did they just lose that important spacecraft Noo no no!

"We lost contact with him" Madam Jessy Terko said the disappointing words no one wanted to admit to themselves while checking on the computer. She started to rub her eyes like it would make some miracle happen.

"Mission control centre, we lost all the signals from O-1129." They heard the devastated voice of the chief engineer. main

"All signals?" Madam Blake whispered to herself looking at Madam Evens trying to find a proper explanation for all this mess. But what can poor Kristein Evens do? She kept looking at the big screen as if some answer would pop up.

"Keep on searching! I need a complete report before tonight" Chancellor Terko instructed the main control unit before cutting off their connections. Then he turned around to the astonished faces of the other seven chancellors.

"I think we've got a problem," He said disappointed. The sound of the seven people giving out heavy breaths came above the buzzing sound of the computers." hmm"
