He had been chasing them for days now. From the site of their betrayal to the eighth floor. He had hounded them unceasingly. Untiring. Undying. He would not stop until he had his vengeance. No matter how many lucky arrows found the gaps in his armor his joints never failed him. No matter how many explosives he was hit with he would always continue the chase. (albeit with a new dent.) Many times the mages tried to cook him in his armor with flame spells but none of them were attuned to fire and could not make their flames hot enough to burn his bones to dust.
as they approached the Great Chasm (also known as the eighth Floor) they collapsed the tunnel behind them. This was not the first time they had done this. They did it whenever they needed to rest. It only ever bought them a few hours before he found a way to crawl through. This time was no different. He finally breached the other side of the mound of stone and when he was free he immediately resumed his hunt. He saw Them waiting in battle formation at the other end of one of the many stone bridges that spanned the Great Chasm. He knew why they had decided to fight was because they had run out of explosives and could no longer collapse the tunnels and buy themselves time to rest. They had to fight. running now would only make them even more exhausted for when he eventually caught up to them. This was their last stand, he would make sure of it. Halfway across the bridge now. He wasn't worried about losing the fight, he had already killed more than half of them. And right now they were exhausted. He knew they weren't hiding any explosives either. He knew how many they started with and he had counted every one they used. The mages weren't attuned to fire so it was nearly impossible for any of them to cast an explosion spell. And they didn't have the strength left to use earth magic to move the heavy set stones of the bridge. He scanned the enemy formation. Where were the mages? Just as he was almost upon them they split in the middle revealing the mages and their ritual. He realized they must have started it hours ago. by now they had gathered a massive amount of mana. And with the quantity of mages working the ritual, attunement doesn't matter much. As the concentrated beam of fire mana approached him time seemed to slow down. Even with all he had endured until now he didn't see how he could survive this. Then it hit him. He fell to his knees from the force of it. He felt what paltry amount of charred flesh he had left turn to dust. He was surprised that he hadn't noticed there wasn't much left of himself. No. He knew he was a little more than a skeleton, he just hadn't acknowledged it. His bones began disintegrating.

Without nerves, the flames almost felt warm. Hadn't he done enough? Couldn't he rest easy knowing he had killed most of them? Yes. He had done enough. He could finally rest- NOOOOOOOO! He bellowed. MOOOOVE! He raised himself off a knee. His party- no his family could not rest until he had killed every. single. one of them! He stood and began wading through the molten stone. Walking Step after step His soul burning with rage and refusal to die. “I AM NOT DONE!” he roared. His hand breached the wall of flame just as the last of his bones returned to dust.
The bridge collapsed.
His ash-filled armor fell.
