Hi bro,
Don’t show this letter to Mum and Dad. I tried to pay the courier service extra to deliver to you when you are on your own, but I couldn’t justify the expense. Monopolies are a bitch!!! If the rents ask, this letter is about boy trouble. They will still hound me but definitely worry less. And it’s somewhat true. Anyway I’ve run into a spot of trouble with a colleague of mine. I had to break 2 of his fingers before he got the message, but he’s a fire mage, so I’ve got some damage as well. I got another skill out of it though. It’s called [Mists of Doom]. It is pretty badass if I say so myself. I even thanked the guy afterwards for it. He was less than receptive though.
You’d know better than me. Do boys not like howling winds that follow them around and occasionally whisper threats and/or thanks into their ear?
Anyway, I am going to be in a healing torpor for about a month. Apparently tasting your own lungs isn’t terribly healthy even when they are cooked all the way through.
Only of course the idiot is one of the noble brats here, so the college fired me. (got the joke?) Luckily my employee health benefits are pretty obsidianclad, so I will leave here good as new. A bit of an abrupt end to the school arc of my adventure, but that’s life. And I got two nice parting presents.
I sent a separate letter to the whole family. If this one arrived first, please don’t try to act surprised, you absolutely suck at it. Just pace around a lot. Or just stuff your mouth even worse than normal. Even YOU should manage to not give everything away when no one can see your face.
I am getting bitchy aren’t I? I am sorry, you know how I am when I am hungry.
They won’t let me eat before I go under. Anyway, the scribe I am dictating this to is in danger of rolling her eyes out, so I will leave it here.
My next letter should come in a month or even a bit longer if it takes me some time to find my next footing.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Love
Sara

Hi everyone,
I have good news and bad news
The good news is, I had an interesting argument with a colleague and won.
The bad news is the whiny little brat complained about my attitude and got me fired.
I’ll still be here for another month, because my contract got renewed shortly before all this bs started, but afterwards they want me out of here. My last day here will probably be 25.02.
Still it is not all bad. The little idiot did me an enormous favour. Apparently he is a wee bit embarrassed about his behaviour and got the college to officially seal my employment documents. So now I can truthfully say that I am a former employee of the Sylvan College of Arcane Warfare and that the pertaining documents are sealed. If I manage to level my vocation enough no one will question it. And even if they do, the College will confirm it. Most people will probably assume I was a researcher who dove a bit too deep into anathema, but that might still be helpful down the line. Of course if prospective employers could get a hold of this letter, the gig would be up, but …
Irony is beautiful! Well it’s not really ironic, since private correspondence isn’t part of public documentation anyway, but I still think it is funny, so I will send this one directly from here. This way the College at least has a keepsake of my time here.
Anyway, I am going to be extremely busy over the next weeks, working, taking advantage of the library and looking for whatever comes next. So don’t expect a letter until I have sorted everything out.
I also got levels in six skills out of my time here and I will see if I can get to a lucky dozen before I leave. I am also working on a completely new skill that should be ready by then. The levelling opportunities are pretty amazing here, I will definitely be sad to see those go, but that’s life and you know I always land on my feet. I’ll include an updated status sheet in my next letter. I hope you guys are doing well. Please don’t worry too much about me, I am in control.
With love
Sara
PS: If you are wondering if all your complaints about my handwriting suddenly worked, I am sorry I’ll have to disappoint you. I met a very nice [Scribe] and this way she gets some experience, you get an absolutely gorgeous letter and I get less hassle. Win all around or height of laziness? You decide.
