Rain woke up.
Laying in bed. Staring at the ceiling. Listening to the ear destroying alarm. Just like every other day.
After all, what else would he be doing when he wakes up?
Grunting noncommitedly, Rain turned to the alarm and turned it off, reveling in the reduction of noise. Shifting the covers away from his body, he let it be bathed in the morning Friday sunlight. As he picked himself up and off the bed, he groaned as he stretched his legs, loosening them up in preparation for the rest of the day. Today would be the last shift of the week.
Sure, the job was enjoyable. Perhaps one could even say, fun. But the expectation of having absolutely nothing to do until Monday, was exhilirating, to say the least.
Stepping into the comfortable tiled bathroom, Rain, with laser-like precision, homed in on the toilet. Relieving himself right after waking up was always a soothing feeling. Finishing, he proceded to take a quick shower, using cold water to shock his brain into functionality. Drying himself off with a nearbly towel, he leisurely brushed his teeth. Finally feeling clean enough, he exited the shower and went back to the bedroom. Pulling on a plain gray t-shirt and jeans, he checked himself in the mirror next to the wardrobe. With shoulder length brown hair, green eyes, and a fairly decent visage, he was mostly overlooked when some bully or so was looking out for a target to pick on. Adding on to this was his toned body, gained from a daily gym regiment. Of course he wasn't some martial artist type, though he did fancy attempting to train himself in some form or other.

But that was long ago. When he still had time to randomly dream.
Shaking his head a bit to cease the thoughts running through his head, Rain decided he might as well depart. He had a job to get to.
Locking the door behind him, Rain stepped outside to a clear day. While a few clouds were roaming here and there, most of the sky was unoccupied by the fluffy seeming, white water vapor. Climbing into his Nissan, which he got from a used car dealership at a great price, he checked that everything was place, started the car, and began his commute to work.
Passing a few traffic lights, when he was but halfway to his company headquarters, he felt it.
That seeming dread.
Then, everything stopped.
