No, not nothing!
A small white bubble popped out thin air.
Before Yaro could react, the bubble drifted forward and touched his leg. It disappeared the moment it made contact.
What the hell was that? Is that one of those famous beasts I keep hearing about?
Am I infected now?
Yaro’s mind was in chaos.
Am I really seeing this, or is it a hallucination? Did the beast parasitize me, and cause me to go crazy?
Fire affinity? What does that mean?
System? A system? My brain is not working.
It sounds vaguely familiar, like something I’ve read before - ah, I did not do enough reading in my past life!
The jumble of random thoughts all entered Yaro’s mind at roughly the same time. However, they were silenced a second later when an interface appeared.
Constitution - 9 (Willpower: 18 | Memory: 8 | Mental Capacity: 4 | Thought Speed: 5)
Talent - 18 (Ingenuity: 12 | Evolution Factor: 23)
Physique - 3 (Endurance: 5 | Durability: 3 | Strength: 3 | Explosiveness: 1 | Reflexes: 4)
Senses - 4 (Eyesight: 5 | Hearing: 4 | Taste: 4 | Touch: 3 | Smell: 5)
Cultivation - None (Lifeforce: 2 | Spiritual Energy: 0/100 | Fire Affinity: 1)
Techniques: None
Abilities: None
(Hidden Abilities: Divine Hands (Mystical))
Yaro did not know what to think.
The bubble was one matter, the system message another. This, however, this was something else entirely. Yaro was not sure his mind was capable of producing such a complicated overlay with so many specific statistics.
Am I in a game world? Do other people have stats as well? This is so strange!
He read them out, one by one.
His name was obvious, it was what he went by in his previous life.
Curiously, his last name was omitted. Perhaps it was because he hated his father and never wanted to share a name with the bastard. Could it be that the interface took his own thoughts into account?

In any case, such details were unimportant.
The word ‘bound’ stood out to him.
Bound?
Does that refer to being a lawslave?
Constitution?
Don’t know what that is.
Willpower was way higher than memory, mental capacity and thought speed. Yaro did not know whether to be happy or offended by this.
Talent?
Perhaps it is because of my painting talent that it is so high.
Ingenuity? Evolution Factor? Huh?
Physique?
Why is it so low?
Explosiveness at only one point? Really, that’s just too much…
Senses?
Cultivation…wait, cultivation?
Is that the ability to grow plants?
I really am a farmer!
Wait, why would fire affinity be related to plant cultivation?
Perhaps, it meant something different…
Lifeforce?
Spiritual energy?
Energy? Energy?
It must be related to power!
In any case, next to cultivation it said ‘none’, so he did not worry about it much.
Yaro also did not worry about the distinction between techniques and abilities for the same reason. He did not have any of either!
On the other hand, he did have one hidden ability, which confused him.
No abilities, but one hidden ability. What was the difference between the two?
Divine Hands, is that related to painting again?
Overall, his stats seemed low, but there was one important detail.
The bubble.
If Yaro was correct in his assumptions, he should have had zero fire affinity before. The system message had implied that he had just gained his single point at the very moment he touched the bubble.
From this logic, the bubbles appeared to give him stat boosts.
One point of fire affinity did not seem like much. He didn’t feel any different.
But what if he could get a boost to another category, like physique or that mysterious cultivation? And what if it was not just a single point, but a whole bunch?
The only question was how to get more bubbles…
It seemed that the first one had popped into existence when he had turned over the ‘red grass.’
The next step seemed obvious.
There was plenty of grass around. Uproot it all!
Uproot! Uproot! Uproot until the earth is barren!
Uproot until nothing remains in its original place!
Yaro felt a tug on his arm.
Farmer 4 was nodding.
“Take,” he said, pointing at the red grass that had been pulled out of its purchase in the soil.
Yaro nodded absently.
How can I dismiss the interface?
Poof! The interface was gone.
It disappears, just like that?
Yaro was stunned.
Appear!
The interface popped up.
Disappear!
The interface was gone.
Appear! Disappear! Appear! Disappear!
Yaro stooped over and picked up the red grass, slipping it into one of his many pockets. Seeing the interface pop in and out of existence reassured him. It would not distract him in the future. He could also summon it whenever he wanted.
Presumably, it had been lurking from the moment he was reincarnated, waiting to be called up.
Farmer 4 was beginning to walk forward.
“Stop!” Yaro cried out.
Farmer 4 turned around, confusion evident in his eyes.
“Brother 4, there is something I need to do.”
The lawslave continued to stare blankly.
“Perhaps, it will help the Lord,” Yaro said, lying easily.
In reality, he could not give two wits about the Lord. All he cared about was getting as many of those bubbles as possible!
