Tyrant Of The Depths
Failure is no longer an option

Failure is no longer an option

Down in the bottom of a ravine in the 'Dungeon of Lorain' a young adventurer laid there injured and bloodied from a fall.

(Mc Pov)

'Am I alive.' I thought to myself 'How? Is there any one else that made it?'

I thought about shouting for a while until I heard something behind me.

-snarl-

The hairs on my neck raised up as I slowly turned around and saw a large Black dire wolf with blue streaks in its fur, blue flames coming out of its mouth and nostrils.

-GROWL-

It let out an ear piercing growl it LUNGED at me. I dodged his strike by a hair. I ran to the walls of the ravine trying to climb up the steep wall with just my dagger and a hundred pound bag on my back. I got pretty high on the wall but nowhere near the top.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

The wolf was still at the base of the wall snarling at me occasionally trying to jump up to get me.

I had no idea what to do now, as it felt as if I was looking at death itself. I started feeling extremely heavy up here. I suddenly had an Idea. The bag I am carrying weighs a hundred pounds and is full of alchemical substances, that I know little about.

Taking a leap of faith I take off the bag trying not to fall off my foot rest, I drop it below hoping for the best. For a few seconds there was eerie silence with only the wind making a noise.

-thud-

The bag landed on the ground next to the wolf. The wolf went over to the bag breathing out fire from its nose.

-BOOM-

The bag exploded causing a large fire ball and a noise so loud I went deaf for a few seconds.

I wanted to see if the wolf was still breathing or not, so I went down to check.

And sure enough the wolf is dead its body still intact but with the head a half melted sludge.

I sat down relieved and with the adrenaline wearing off I sat down to chop and cook the wolf over the fire that was still burning from the  explosion.

When cutting up the beast I realized just how easy it was to cut through its fur and skin, which were unaffected by the fire. Meaning that I could have killed the beast without to much of a problem.

'From here on out Failure is no longer an option.' I proclaimed to myself
