The air in the room felt heavy.
Sienna’s mother stood in front of her with crossed arms, her expression firm. "Sienna, can you explain your behavior today?" She didn’t even give her time to answer before continuing.
"The teacher called me while I was at work. Do you know how embarrassing that was for me?" Her voice was sharp, filled with disappointment.
Sienna lowered her head. She had expected this, but hearing the words still hurt.
Her mother sighed and turned toward the kitchen. "Dinner is ready," she said quietly before walking away to set the table.
Sienna sat down, eating slowly, her thoughts racing.
She had done all of this to stop being bullied, to feel like she belonged. Instead, she had become a spectacle. Boys whispered about her body like she was nothing more than a thing to look at. Teachers saw her as a distraction. And worst of all, her mother, who had always been proud of her, now looked at her with disappointment.

She had lost so much in just one day.
After dinner, she stood up and went to her room, closing the door behind her. She stared at her reflection in the mirror. In the morning, she had seen a new version of herself, someone confident and bold. But now, she didn’t recognize the girl looking back at her.
Reaching up, she pulled at her ponytail, letting her hair fall naturally. She took out the contact lenses, letting her tired eyes rest. Slowly, she picked up her old glasses and put them on.
She would rather stay invisible.
The next morning, Sienna stepped into the shower, letting the warm water run over her skin. She looked down at her body. It was curvy and soft, something she had never thought much about before. But now, she hated the way people looked at it. She hated how her body made people think differently about her.
She quickly washed, dried herself, and put on her usual clothes. No more tight jeans, no more cropped sweaters. Just comfortable, simple clothes. She ate breakfast, grabbed her backpack, and got in the car with her mother.
This time, when they reached the school, the car stopped right in front of the gates like always. Sienna stepped out without hesitation.
As soon as she walked into the classroom, the whispers started.
"She’s back to the same nerd."
"What a loser."
She clenched her fists and tried to ignore them.
Just as she sat down, Amy walked into the classroom.
Amy was everything Sienna wasn’t. Blonde, beautiful, and popular, but also kind. She wasn’t from their class but from Class B.
She smiled and patted Sienna on the shoulder. "Tomorrow, I’m having a little party. Wanna come?"
Sienna hesitated. "Ugh… are you sure? I’ll have to ask my parents."
She wasn’t in the mood, but talking to Amy felt nice. At least someone in this school didn’t look at her with judgment.
Amy grinned and patted her again. "Come on, don’t worry! It’ll be fun. If they say yes, be there at 8:30!"
With that, she waved and left the classroom.
Sienna sat there, thinking. She turned her head to look out the window, watching the sky.
Maybe she needed to go.
