Tia:

Continuing…

Weeks passed, and Tias' understanding of her brother deepened as they opened up to each other more. Frequent visits to the inn had become a routine that occupied the twins and Caelan, but more often than not, Tiago was forced into training with his father, leaving her to her own devices. All of which she spent studying. She had formulated a plan with the others to convince her parents to use magic with a show of her adept talents in magic mastery itself, and to do this; she wanted to attain at least a strong level of confidence in earth magic, which she found natural to her. So, as the week went by, the schedule was made.

The world they occupied followed a different calendar system linked directly to sun phases as it seemed to magically send mana waves in varying strength after certain day cycles, making it possible to track based on these variations, a lot of aspects in their world seemed to have unexplained or unexplored meanings, especially the major phenomenon in their world the powering factor behind the magic, the gods.

From Tias' research into her family's history, she discovered how magic came to exist according to the writings left by older generations. It was a gift from deities in a higher world whose energy seeped into this plane and affected our environment. Eventually, after being tormented by the beasts produced from this leaking mana, the people agreed with these gods and shared their power with everyone.

In this world, your family line is linked to a named god that establishes you with the god's mana pool and their attributed magic. Millions of these deities exist and vary in power. The order of power descends in order of star level, which Tia wrote up a table herself, with names written from her books as examples.

These great gods were all of higher power in her worlds, but most only have their names in myths or are rumored to exist. But your god's innate magic was passed down from generation to generation, and one was only limited to the spells that their family history had combined, and new gods are created; if a stronger god is introduced to a family line, they dominate the user's bloodline and replaces the old god's mana pool and techniques effectively destroying erasing the previous god's lineage. The Ein Sof had a four-star goddess, Tirade, the goddess of blades—an old god born in the era after the great connection with the gods.

Tia had compiled her findings into a notebook that she would use as a guidebook for herself in the future, and recently, the sun had changed its mana waves, indicating the changing of seasons. They were in High flux when the waves were especially strong and ran on a 6-day weekly cycle for four months.

On the first day of Tia's current routine, Tahi, she would meet up in secret with Caelan and Tiago at the inn; Tiago would sleep on a bench as he hardly got to rest with his father's training regiment under the guise of studying magic, while Tia would study the inner workings of the earth magic textbooks he would supply. Her mother went to the city on this day, so it was optimal for her study.

Rua, the next day, would participate in studying modern culture with her mother and practice wifely duties, including washing and especially cooking food, which her mother said was a speciality from her side of the family for daughters to make an especially difficult dish. Tia found these actively frustrating as the recipe didn’t exist and would come naturally to her if given the right ingredients; this didn’t make any sense and just seemed like a way for her mother to get at her for trying to get away from home so often. Despite this, Hera never raised her voice. She would simply tell her it was incorrect and make her repeat whatever she was doing. Tia admired how her mother conducted herself; she had an air of dignity, but it always felt like she was holding herself back for Tia's sake.

Toru on the 3rd day, and her mother take Tia on communion around the town to visit the residence and talk shop. She often took this time to sneak away and study magic in the inn. Her mother didn’t seem particularly bothered by her disappearance as long she reappeared sometime before she left the head farmer's home.

Whā was the fourth day, and both her parents would go into the main city to deal with business affairs, mainly regarding the money they could bring to their settlement based on the produce they maintained. Their crops grew magically year round due to a gifted young girl who had a high level of agriculture god in their bloodline. They mainly sold wheat and other food vegetation that would get in high demand. This meant that Tiago could come and rest more, but he would only drop his books off and mention he was working on a project before leaving. Tia was curious but too preoccupied with figuring out the inner workings of Earth wall, the spell she was trying to recreate.

Rima was the 5th day, and she would spend most of her time inside the Manor attempting to recreate the recipe her mother was attempting to teach her. Still, when she wasn’t, she was in her family's library, documenting their family history in her guidebook.

Ono was the sixth and final day where she was free to do what she wanted as her mother would relax around her manor and Tiago's father. She would sit in the courtyard and watch him practice, just like in her previous life. He was very athletically gifted, and due to his strict training regiment on his parent's day off, he would still have to train as his father would check in to ensure he was still working hard.

On the fourth week of this routine, on the 6th day Ono, Tiago waited until his father had left the courtyard and went inside and waved Tia over,

“My project is finished!” He whispered to her excitedly and began walking towards the treeline behind the manor.

“Where are we going?” she asked him, puzzled. What could he have been working on?

Tiago pushed through the treeline and past a few bushes to a small clearing where many targets had been crudely put together from small fallen trees.

“What is this, Tiago?” She asked him,

“It’s your very own training area!” He exclaimed with a proud look on his face.

“I spent most of the time hacking the trees down, but It should be fine, right?”

She smiled ear to ear, and she didn’t deserve a brother like him. He had made a secluded area for her to cast magic without being found. Right behind the manor, too, so she could access it easily without needing too much explanation about her absence; it was perfect.

“Alright, show me that new earth wall spell.” He told her,

gesturing to a low-hanging wheat bag with a smile on its face that, at a touch, felt filled to the brim with flour. A makeshift boxing bag. She stood back away from the bag, and Tiago stood behind a nearby tree for protection and gave her a thumbs up. She rolled her eyes before focusing on the ground below the bag. She related her learnings in her head and took apart the symbols she found commonly within earth magic spells to form a word with her arms. It's as if she could see the mana flowing through the ground in beautiful streaks. She raised her arms before casting her spell verbally.

“Earth wall.”

the moment the words left her mouth, the ground under the bag shot upwards, blasting through the fabric and straight through the branch holding the bag. She could see the mana exuding from herself rushing through the ground propelling the wall higher and higher, rushing through all the tree branches.

“Um, is it supposed to keep going like that?” He asked her as the mound continued to grow.

Tia felt her strength leaving her body; she dropped her arms and tried to cut the feed of mana from flowing out of her body, but it wouldn’t stop. The mound grew past the tree line and into the sky above, disturbing nearby birds and sending them into disarray. Tia began to feel her vision fade, stumbling on her feet. The more it grew, the harder it became to stay conscious. Tiago, who had been watching the mound grow, looked back to his sister struggling to keep to her feet, and ran to grab her as she fell forward, losing consciousness.

Later, she finally awoke in her room. Light spilled into her room from a window on the other side of the room. Shilah, the maid, is asleep in a chair next to her. She panicked for a moment; she overdid it and lost control. But she must be fine, right? She vaguely remembers Tiago catching her right before she lost consciousness. She sits up and slowly pulls her blanket and sheets off her. She watched Shilah closely to not wake her from her slumber when suddenly loud footsteps down the hallway marched towards her room. They sounded like they were coming from Tore, her father's room. The sound immediately sprung Shilah to attention. She sat blinking momentarily as if unaware of where she was before focusing on Tia, regaining her senses.

“Miss, you’re finally awake!”

She yelped giddily and wrapped her arms around Tia, hugging her tightly, the maid's long hair getting caught on Tia's face. She blew out as the tightness of the hug made it hard for her to breathe before she finally released her.

“I was worried sick when your brother returned and said he had accidentally swung his sword around recklessly and knocked you unconscious. We feared the worst.” Shilah's words were filled with anxiety.

“What happened to him after that?” Tia asked her,

“Well, he received his father's disciplinary action as usual.” Shilah sighed as she spoke this.

Tia had never received any harsh punishment, and she wondered what kind of punishment his father had given him, considering Tia had never really received one. Whenever she saw his father go into a room with Tiago so he could receive it, she wasn’t allowed to watch, and she could only hear loud snapping noises that worried her, but Tiago would always come out with a smile on his face.

His father swung the door open and, seeing Tia awake, bellowed a small laugh.

“You awaken!”He then walked towards her. Shilah stepped out of the way as Tia's bed was tucked in the corner of the room, so her father approached from the side. Putting the back of his hand onto her forehead,

“No fever or swelling; it must’ve been a clean hit.” He pulled his hand back,

“Do ya remember anything from the hit?”

“Not really, just sitting there then suddenly waking up here.” She lied straight to his face. He peered curiously before stepping back.

“Alright then, be more careful from now on.” he turned away from him, walking out of the room. Stopping right at the entrance to her room.

“No more hanging out in the courtyard while he's training, ya hear?”

“Sure thing, Dad.” She assured him.

“Good.” He walked out, closing the door behind him.

His footsteps could still be heard creaking on the wooden floor towards the kitchen.

“He just loves you two, you know that, right?” Shilah told her,

of course, she knew that. She did feel a little bad for not meeting her new family's expectations.

Tia discovered she had slept for the rest of the previous day and night, so her mother was in the city again. So she immediately got dressed in her Ein Sof attire, a white shirt with the Ein Sof insignia and purple dress, and ventured out in search of her brother. But he was nowhere to be found, so she asked around the village. Apparently, he hadn’t been seen all day, which she found odd as he regularly patrolled the village. Returning to the manor, Joseph was tending to the front garden, pulling weeds from the ground, so she approached him on his whereabouts.

“Hey Joseph, have you seen my brother?” She tapped him on the shoulder, and he turned to face her.

“He is still receiving his punishment for striking you, darling.” She tilted her head with a puzzled face.

“It was a day of lashings, I believe. They should be done by dinner.” He spoke nonchalant, as if it were any other day.

Her eyes widened it terror,

“Lashes?”

“Yes, the young master often gets these as he is often disobedient; this time, he made a mistake hurting his sister.” He turned away, he seemed more concerned with watering the plants then Tiagos.

She rushed past him and straight upstairs and ran to her father's room; Her heart racing. She placed her ear against her fathers study's door and could hear a loud cracking, followed by another. She tried to open the door, but it wouldn’t open. She tried again, but it wouldn’t budge. She began to panic, what is going on in there?
