In the beginning, before the creation of the Heavens and Earth, a being wondered an empty plain, a world indescribable. This being, known to the common man as God, was alone, and took action to change that. But the being realized that it could not create something without being something, it realized that it could not give what it had not experienced, life, so it began to forge itself a soul, and it became the Soul-Maker. It shaped itself to this soul and felt life. As warmth spread to its fingers and toes it felt great happiness, in its glee it began to create all that we know, the Heavens and Earth, the wind, water, light, dark, it created life. It created man in the shape of itself, and looked into his future and saw we know not what. Whatever it saw gave birth to us, what it saw inspired the creation of more souls, 9 souls, The Thief, The Soldier, The Thinker, The Leader, The Messenger, The Wanderer, The Serpent, The Hero, and The Dragon. The Soul-Maker set these souls upon the Earth and gave rise to the first humans, from which all are descended. Our souls are simply fragments of theirs. Carriers of the soul of the Thief are silent by nature, they hide well and vanish easily, those that have their respect are well looked after as the Thief forges strong ties. The Soldier is strong by nature, they are great warriors, stubborn as a mule with an iron will and golden heart, they do what is right and encourage others to do the same. The Thinkers are natural geniuses, minds of the other decedents pale in comparison to the Thinker, Thinkers love knowledge beyond all else and tend to be shunned by others because of it, they examine every detail, hate being wrong, and seem to have a personal score to settle when someone is smarter than they are. The Leader is not easy to recognize, and they are a rare soul indeed, they normally emerge in times of crisis, they are fearless, they do not turn away from challenges, and they have good eyes for people, Leaders are able to look upon those that follow them and use them to their fullest, they are true to their word, and like the Thief, they easily forge strong bonds. The Messenger is fast by nature and has a long memory, they are punctual and dread even the word "late", Messengers are hard workers, not liking to quit before they absolutely have to, they are durable, and can recognize a face better than anyone. The Wanderer is charismatic, people seem to trust them wherever they go. They hate to be stuck in one place for to long and are not overly fond of bonds. Wanderers are strong in their convictions and believe others should be as well. They hate to have debts, and will fulfill any promise they make. Now we come to the Serpent, holders of this soul are self-centered, they tend to lie, cheat, and use any means necessary to accomplish their goals, the presence of a Serpent is a bad omen, and good luck rarely follows. Out of all 9 souls the Serpents are the best survivors, they do what they need to to keep themselves alive. It's the fact that bad luck follows the Serpent that most of them turn out evil, they are normally orphaned, for they bring bad luck to their families, they are shunned because trouble strikes those around them. The Hero, it is a rare soul and one not easily recognized, many of the people born as a Hero are legends, men of such extraordinary caliber that many believe that they never even existed. Heroes don't live long lives, not by nature, but because they are reckless and put things you or I may see as minor above themselves. The personalities of Heroes very greatly, they can be anything from pure-evil and selfish to Angel-like in heart. They are strong defenders of everyone, not just friends and family. Heroes are capable of amazing feats, and contrary to what you may believe, they have fear. It is fear that drives a Hero to strength, for when they find their near infinite pool of courage they can overcome their fears and push themselves onward. Finally we have the soul of the Dragon, a soul no one understands, we know nothing of it but what the prophecies and legends tell us, since the first 9 souls were set upon the Earth only one Dragon has ever existed, so far he has no descendants. Legend tells us the The Dragon soul was pulled from Soul-maker itself. The Dragon was somewhat of a Demigod, it possessed traits of the other 8 souls but was stronger in them. The Dragon was said to be quieter than the Thief, stronger than the Soldier, smarter than the Thinker, able gather followers easier than the Leader, faster than the Messenger, more charismatic than the Wanderer, more sly than the Serpent, and can accomplish more than the Hero. Of the 9 souls the Dragon is the strongest, yet the coming of the next Dragon is feared by many. Prophecies of the ancients tell of the coming of the next Dragon, or let's say... Dragons, two Dragons, born at the exact same moment... with very different destinies. One will use his immense power to bring death and devastation to the inhabitants of this Earth, the other Dragon is supposed to stop this, and lead the remains of humanity into a new era. From the smoke and ash man will burst forth like a reborn Phoenix, led by the Dragon so that they may reclaim what they lost. The Soul-maker saw this in the future of its children, and in order to protect them, it took one of each of the 8 souls of man and granted them the ability to see the souls of others, along with super human levels of each of their souls traits. These men came to be known as "Soul-seers" of which 8 exist at all times, the moment when one passes a new one is born to take his place. If you do not see his abilities you would not be able to tell a Soul-seer from a normal man, except for his eyes, the eyes of a Soul-seer change when he peers into the soul of another. Their pupil turns white, their iris black, and their sclera, or the whites of the eye, will take on the original color of the iris. This change allows them to look through barriers and obstacles to see the souls of those around them, to see which of the 8 souls they carry, and the purity of their hearts and intentions.
