Part 1
There's a world, where mage-craft is the norm, and medieval is the life's form. This world has been filled with various adventures from past heroes and villains known. Yet magic isn't only used for battle, it is also used for the lifestyle of the people since the thousands of years the world has existed.
In this world lies a rural of all rural villages, known as Delia. It's a simple village with not much problems on it's own. The kingdom helps when the time comes, while the townsfolk have been solving the village's problems on their own for awhile. Monsters aren't really a problem since the placement of the village is near a large city and thus, it was easy to call a quest to adventurers.
On the third of the five hills that stands out as the village's eye candy, lies an orphanage. Filled with abandoned children from unknown people, the church of Artic have decided to shelter these children from harm and bad influences. However, such a plan is currently...
"STOP MAKING A MESS ALREADY!!!"
...not going so well.
The Hope Orphanage, is filled with children that are possibly the most stubborn due to the desirable kids being adopted by couples as of late. Which in turn, makes the stress for the nun, Ms. Maricel, a head-racking problem.
"YOU GOD-FORSAKEN BRATS!!!"
...Very head-racking problem.
Part 2
Ms. Marcel was an exceptional woman at her peak of 21. She has accomplished several events, that includes healing 483 men in the last war against the demons. Her capabilities saved the lives of many and perhaps made the soldier's Morale more stronger since an angel is helping them. It was said that hundreds have asked for her hand in marriage after the battle, but she refused due to her strong loyalty to the church.
However, after the war, she didn't gain any merits any more. Her choices were to stay in the capital of Vistas, in which trading and men would mostly ask her for her hand as usual. It was something that even she cannot endure for weeks.
Thus, she thought about her other options. In which, is to become an adventurer.
However, that thought was ceased. She cannot fathom of not praying to the god, Artic even for a hours only. So the work of adventurers would be a massive hindrance to her worship, since those people would have to stay in dungeons for weeks, sometimes even months, just to get their foolish loot.
Thus, she asked the bishop of the Vistas branch at the time if what other alternatives can she get to have some rest from the tough work of a nun. Knowing Maricel's achievements, He introduced her to an orphanage in a rural area just south from Vistas. It may be a few hundreds of kilometers to get there by sea, but it is indeed the most peaceful village he know of. A place where Ms. Maricel would be satisfied. His only compensation would be for the people to learn of the teachings of God and for her to take care of the orphans. Naturally, she accepted without hesitation.
The trip was a bit harsh. With storms being completely hard to navigate through and her going through different islands and riding all sorts of "vinyagan"(which is a native wooden boat) and carriages with bulls instead being used to pull.
She arrived at the orphanage with ease. She was welcomed by the villagers and was given a tour to her new home, which was a simple brickhouse. It's roof was covered on coconut's leaves and it's support was built from "kawayan" or bamboo.
An interesting yet new lifestyle was also oriented to her, which was particularly more traditional. The village would mostly have wooden houses, or "kubo" as they call it. They eat rice and have lives based on farming. A particular simple life. It was completely different on the lifestyle in Vistas, which was influenced by the western men. Life there was definitely different from there here. If in there, they bothered appearances, in here, they couldn't. Rather, they don't have time for it.
Magic is also thought here, just in a different way. In vistas, magic is thought from school for the nobles and the like. Here, experience is determined to use it. Farmers, tailors, and perhaps most other workers would use elemental-based magic for their daily lives. However, they used it without overdoing so, because they believe that nature must work on it's own for humanity. Forcing nature would mean troubles and conflicts for future problems.
Such a thought showed difficulty for Ms. Maricel, due to the belief of the church that magic is a blessing of god, and thus must be used for the sake of appreciation of what God has done for us. However, the villagers still accepted her and even understood what she thought to them. Something she is grateful at.
It took her a year until she got used and got her job started.
Now, You may ask. "But then, nothing is wrong with it then, so why is it that she has stressful problems?"

You see, it's not the life that she thought of as difficult. It was after that. It wad her job that did so.
22 years old is still a good one for her prime. Her appearance still looked like a goddess to most people and her actions looked exactly like a mother taking care of her child. But of course, such a thing is different in reality.
You see, Maricel Macanip is an innocent woman. She was born and submitted to the orphanage in vistas that teaches women to be nun in a young age. Her entire life was filled with only training, worshipping, and helping others. To sum it up...
She has never looked after anyone before in her entire life. She never had a mother, nor was she able to get even a mother figure. She only knew Artic and only loved Artic in her life. The only guidance she ever had was from either the bishops or from her friends back in the seminary.
Which gave her problems once the babies have arrived.
The village chief gave her two babies for her to care of. One, is a boy with blonde hair and cute, wide eyes. He is a son of a mistress of a noble in a neighboring city. The pain from her lover abandoning her has made her kill herself, and leaving the baby alone. Luckily, some relative was able to take hold of the baby. Unfortunately, their poverty had made them decide to send the baby off to the orphanage for a better way to live.
The other one is a girl with black hair and sharp eyes. Her lineage was unknown but she was apparently seen on a river, crying while being pushed on her basket. Maybe the girl was abandoned by her mother and was thrown into the river. After all, such a thing is already normal in the current society. Maricel can't help but tear up a bit from the small story.
Luckily, names were left to the babies via some kind of paper. The blonde one is named Luke and the Girl was Lara. No surname were added, just these vague names. Needles to say, it was more than enough.
However, hell rained once she tried to take care of the two. She learned the true pain of raising a child. Just feeding them bottles of milk was already hard enough, yet there's still the problem of changing their underwear, making them sleep, cleaning them, making sure they aren't going out of the cradle, and many more. Perhaps one large problem she hated was the times when the babies would suddenly cry out of nowhere in the middle of her sleep, interrupting her in the process. She has to take care of them 24/7 without getting even.
But despite all of that, she still considers herself lucky. After all, the women in the village would sometimes help her and teach her how to raise them properly. The food was also taken care of so all she really had to do are chores and taking care of the babies.
After a while, Maricel slowly liked the two's cuteness. Without her knowing, she loved them like they are just her children. Just like a mother would do.
But then, one night, the two orphans would be added into three.
It was raining quite heavily that time. Thunder roared and the wind blew itself more stronger in every second. Houses are getting destroyed for awhile here and there. Chaos and panic erupted as people evacuated to safety.
Maricel was helping the villagers for evacuating that night. People would get injuries from sharp ends of destroyed debris and sometimes, massive accidents would even happen. Some people that knows magic used wind magic to blow and control the various debris that are blown out of control by the tempest. Unfortunately, It was too strong for them.
Maricel was tasked with healing the injured as much as possible. The babies were sent to the town hall, where it would be safer. The people getting injured are becoming dozens but she's no doubt doing her best as she could. Her mana being spread into multiple people at once to make it faster.
But then, she hears a cry. A cry she's so familiar of. Her eyes dart to the source of the noise despite the loud, banging sound of rain falling to the ground and thunder booming on the sky. She sees a small figure covered by a white cloth just above a branch on a near maple tree.
It's already bad enough as it is but the tree is being pushed by the strong wind as well, making the child in a more dangerous position thanks to the tree dancing. Fortunately, she notices this immediately and called the nearby volunteers to help her catch the child, to which they did.
The child was saved in time with everyone's help. The child was brought down safely and it even seems like the child is fine. Something she's grateful to the God, Artic.
The child is a chestnut haired baby with a beautiful skin, one that could mistake it for a girl. She opens his cloth and sees a note within. She checks it out and just silently hides it into her pocket. She shouts to the crowd, asking if anyone has a child they didn't see.
To which, no one knew him. The next day, Maricel Spent the day searching for possible parents of the child. Yet she failed. No one rose to the task and thus was left to the nun to take care of the babies.
Five years have passed since then.
Maricel has become a different woman altogether. With the pain of being a mother etched into her mind, she has adopted and completely changed. Her innocence that was known as her beauty was already long gone.
And of course, her patience is always tested thanks to the kids being mischievous.
In front of her lies a destroyed garden bed and a five-years old Luke wearing a white tank and his red blanket tied around his back laughing while raising his toy sword above to the sky.
"Hahaha! I have won once again!!"
He cheerfully laughed, like a hero defeating a villain. His eyes shone as he stared into the bright sky.
"Yeah, Luke really is cool huh? You didn't really fight fair this time around though?"
A black, straightened haired young girl named Lara said. Her outfit being a simple t-shirt and shorts. Hanging out with the boys have made her wear ONLY T-shirts and shorts. Something that Maricel is really concerned.
At the corner of her eyes, she sees her storage house collapsing on it's own. A blackened figure appearing out of it while coughing from the dust.
"Wow... Luke, You really destroyed it this time..! You'll get in... big... trouble..."
"Huh? What is it Track? What do you mean....?"
"Ms. Maricel, I was only spectating. I didn't do anything this time~"
The three turned their heads towards Maricel. A vein pops as she sees Luke slowly backing away, attempting to escape. Lana tries to negotiate and talk through her, while Track just resigned to his fate and collapsed to the wreckage of the storage.
"...STOP MAKING A MESS ALREADY!!!"
She shouted at the top of her lungs.
"RUN!!" Luke called to Lana, to which she followed and leapt up towards the other side of the fence. Track just groaned as he forced himself inside the wreckage.
"YOU GOD-FORSAKEN BRATS!!!"
