King's Guardsmen

King's Guardsmen

"So, what kind of information are you looking for, you don't seem the type to sit down in the same spot for a couple of days." The giant says gesturing to a seat at a table with fresh baked bread sat upon it.

Eyeing the bread Lincoln grabs a small loaf and begins indulging himself like he hadn't eaten in weeks. With a mouthful of grain, he spoke up "Oh? And what do I look like in your eyes giant? There aren't many of you left it seems your story may be more deep and intriguing than mine." He says with a raised eyebrow

"A vagrant." The giant snorts "A very dangerous hoodlum, especially since you have one of those coins. For you to have acquired one or..." He pauses mid-sentence looking Lincoln up and down. ''Acquiesced' most likely an engraved Triko coin as they should have been lost in the annals of time centuries ago."

Both of them had danced around each other's probing questions, eyeing each other warily for a couple of breaths tensions seemed to spike for a second before the waitress from earlier delivered two swift knocks followed by a hard third before entering the room her expression unhappy and grim.

"Caroline, what's the matter? Did something happen?" Josiah asked standing up quickly.

Nodding she spoke quickly. Some King's guardsmen stopped by to talk to you, I asked what they needed but they said it was an urgent need and the information they want to ask of you is something I am not allowed to know. Saying it was for Josiah or his brothers' ears only. The Tavern's gone quiet you know how people think of the guardsmen here around Carostin.

"Alright I'll be back you stay here." He says pointing at Lincoln. "Caroline let Jason and Jeremiah know, I'm not sure what they want but if they're stopping in Carostin of all places then something bad may have happened." Turning his back Josiah headed through the doorway into the single hall followed by Caroline who took a quick left turn to head into the kitchen to inform the other 2 brothers.

Tiny alarms started blaring in Lincoln's head and his skin felt prickly. He wasn't sure why but in his mind, there was no way these guards weren't looking for him. It's been less than 8 hours they couldn't have gotten to searching this part of the kingdom that fast the response time was absurd.

Josiah made his way through the Tavern spotting a rather large knight donning a large silver armoer embroidered with a slight gold trim along the large shoulders, and an engraved eagle on the Chest.

The man though not nearly as big as the Giants caught Josiah by surprise as he truly had never seen a Human this large before in all 315 years he's been alive. Josiah and his brothers were half human half-giant and they stood around 8 and a half to 9 feet tall (2.59-2.7 meters) but the man easily stood 7 and a half feet as he was barely a full head shorter than himself.

And by the looks of him he was solidly built all the way around, he could see how some random passerby could confuse him for a giant. The man was as typical a knight as one could look, blonde lightly chopped hair down to his broad shoulders. Rough-hardened skin over callused and steady hands with bright striking blue eyes. He and his subordinates had sat where Lincoln had sat earlier in the corner of the tavern. Huddled around their table there was about 6 of them speaking in hushed tones the odd one out oddly being a man in a purple hood.

As Josiah was still a little far away as he had just crossed the threshold of the bar, he couldn't hear what the men were talking about from his distance.

"Are you sure he was here?" "Yes, Captain Tovar. The tracker on the bag I had the buyer give the man led to this place and the current energy fluctuations are still strong it hasn't been long since he has been here."

The men stopped their conversation short as, well it would be very, VERY hard for someone Josiah's size to go unnoticed especially when he was walking straight towards their table.

Captain Tovar stood up as the giant approached and stuck out his hand for a greeting. "Josiah, I presume? I am Captain Tovar of the Kings Guardsmen pleasure to make your acquaintance.
