Chapter 16 Alex in a dungeon

Chapter 16 Alex in a dungeon

With the Sonar shortened to only 1 foot, I couldn't see the Imp. When that realization donned me, I felt as if my muscles took a trip to the artic as they froze in fear despite the blood boiling heat. I stand back up calming my nerves ready to fight the enemy. I recited It's just a game like it was a holy text when fortunately or unfortunately the imp let out a scream of surprise notifying me of its rough location and filling me with dread at the same moment. With its location in my mind, I lounged with as much precision as a man could have when shivering in fear. Somehow by a miracle, I swiftly drew my sword and lounged at the enemy only to miss and stab through an arm. Which one I didn't know at the time.

Critical Hit Information Gained of Vital Hits

I heard the Imp release a blood-curdling sound and without time to spare a thin arm comes and slashes at my chest. Barley having enough time to react there was nothing I could do but lean back.

-20 Health

With the slash, I expected pain, however, all that I felt was a paper cut like feeling on my chest which hurt like a bastard, but not as much as I expected. This led me to regain my senses. This is a game, no matter how life like it will always be a game. With this, I started to calm down and finally thought of what to do. I quickly turned my blade that was still inside the arm of the creature causing a loud squelch sound to come out. I took a risk not knowing which arm I swung right hoping to hit the base of the neck. I must have used the all of my luck in the first critical hit because my sword only hit the cold rusty hinges of the door.

I didn't have enough time to think of another plan so I choose to act on my instinct and try to find a way to activate slow touch. I hear the Imp thing let out a screech of pain and once again attacks me with its claw-like nails. Thankfully whatever this thing is, it did not have a sizable brain. It followed the exact same path and so with this predictable I caught the arm with little hardship.

"Slow Touch" Applying slow touch on the fiend I slash the throat of the Imp as hard as I could hopefully Killing the thing.

You have killed a Lv 7 Fire Imp You have gained 300 exp

After killing the imp, my mind came back to its senses and calmed down enough to relax. Damn, I think I know why they have the over 18 only tag on this. The graphics are extraordinarily good, no wonder people could mistake this for a real-life battle. Now relaxed as I could be in a virtual monster-filled dungeon, I knelt down as I searched for the imp's body which was unsurprisingly right in front of me maybe 2 feet away. I touched the imp's body with a level of anticipation.

"Loot" Without time to even react the imp's body disintegrated into pieces which they then further disintegrated out of existence.

The Fire Imp has dropped 1 charcoal

God, where are you in my time of need. I almost died and then all I got is a goddamn tooth a ROCK God if you're there can you please stop drop kicking my ass. I got up took a heated stone out of my inventory and started absorbing it when it ran out of heat. Thankfully it had enough for me to have about 89%. Screw this I'm just gonna stick to the wall and use the map. With those thoughts in tow, I put my sword in my inventory and took out the map Don gave me. I went right next to the wall and started looking at the map. It said that the first Relic will be found two rights, one left, and then keep going straight till you see a relic.

So I stood a foot away from the wall when I spotted a unlighted torch. Hmm, well I may find fire here they are probably called fire imps for a reason. I grabbed the torch and threw it into my inventory. I then started doing a slow walk to regenerate my lost health before I could get there. Taking my time to get there I started thinking of plans what to do when I fight another of the fire imps. No doubt they dungeon is going to have more than one monster. So what can I plan for? Hmm I should try to find a way to light this torch before doing anything else.

After a few seconds of thinking and walking I decided to  pull out the used heat stone and the charcoal. Then as quietly as possible started smashing them  and to create a spark to ignite the torch. Another minute of me smacking the crap out of the rocks gets the torch lit. The torch liighted the surronding like a man in a desert finding a spring to drink from. With the return of light my eyes finaly gained their usefullness and I could now see the my surrondings which compared to the smithy where lackluster.

The lilghted surrondings had eerie cells with iron bars that seem to be so harshley effected by time that they would disperse with a slighty hard wind. The ceilings and the floor also seemed to be heavily effected by time and if I had to guess where only stable because of the influence of the dungeon. None of this gave me a sense of coolness  but rather gave my an odd sort of feeling that had me reciting its just a game once again. Sadly the developers of the game where not going to give me a break. Out of now where stepping sounds appeared and seemd to come nearer. What was that, I hope to god its not more of the little craps.

Seemingly just out of spite the universe once again fucks me in the ass. When the little shit appear out of the corner the little shits turned out to be a large amount of shits, roughly 5. In less than a minute the little craps are circling me like a pack of sharks. Their Eyes Looked at me as if already savoring my taste. Not today you little shits.

I turn with surprising speed and instant kill one of the craps near me. One of the imps seeing a chance attack me from the back but with my sonar still on I attack the imp with pinpoint percision ending him instantly.

A ding sound telling me of my level UP resounds in my ear as I kill the little buggers surrounding me. Choosing to ignore the level UP, I pull a heat stone out of my inventory to regenerate my lost vibrations.

With the sonar I sense a fire imp raising its rusty iron sword and stabbing me in the back. Going a bit too slow the rusty grazes me causing me to lose 10 points of HP. I direct my attention to the offender and killed him with one swoop to his head. Seeing a chance the crowd of Fire imps attacked me in all directions, leaving me with no choice but to use up the last of my vibe. I Swing my sword in 360 spin thankfully blocking the imps around me. I then ran as if the devil was on my tail.

After the incident I ran for three minutes and stopped to take a breath I looked back to see If any of the bastards followed me. After seeing none of them where near, I dropped down in physical and mental exhaustion.
