1.9 - Core Disciples (3)

The atmosphere shifted again as alcohol and various spiritual dishes were served endlessly. As time passed, people got more and more inebriated as if they were regular mortal drunks.

This was all due to the wine. Because of its medicinal property, it wasn't considered by one's system as a negative substance. As such it wasn't purged. Truly looking at the state of his seniors, he had the sudden feeling that it was the primary goal of the Saint while creating this wine.

Naturally, Calum wasn't affected, did you ever see a treasure get drunk? No, seriously speaking his body was now a unique oddity. Despite everyone here being stronger than him thousand times over, he guessed not many would have a more resilient body than him. It was a difference of life order after all.

"You! Are you drinking? It seems this junior brother has a high alcohol tolerance. If that's the case…" Suddenly an extremely drunk senior walked over while swaying from left to right. Seeing Calum only slightly flushed and not hammered like the rest of them, he was stunned.

"Senior I am drinking. Merely this junior constitution is a bit special." Calum had a wry smile on his face. Even he was surprised by his tolerance.

Yan King looked at him and snickered. Truly, the guys he chose were always unordinary. Naturally, as one of the seven strongest here, he wasn't hammered. When he invited Calum to waste themselves, he was joking as it was impossible for him at least not with this alcohol, not against his will.

The hammered senior refuse to believe he was weaker in drinking than a kid. As such he engaged Calum in a drinking competition. Sadly, for him, his defeat was a done deal. He passed out under the table, the fiery mane he had for hair fell messily covering his face. His snore shook the table with its vibrations.

Calum had just finished his cup and was trying to pour himself another. He looked dumbfounded at the man passed out next to him. He gazed at Yan King in askance.

"Don't worry, his name is Lion. He has ¼ of demonic blood in him, that's why he is so wild and unrestrained. At least that's the excuse he gives when he wakes up the next morning embarrassed after losing a drinking challenge." Yan King explained. Apparently, at each of these events, Lion would drink himself into an ethylic coma and wake up the next day embarrassed.

"Ignore him, he is fine. Come let's continue to drink." Yan King raised his cup in a toast. Grinning Calum met his toast, and both downed their cup.

. . . . . . . . . .

It was now midnight. They had started the morning and were still going strong. Suddenly senior Luo stood up and tapped rhythmically the rim of his cup. The dazed looked in most of the Banquet participants cleared up.

"I am grateful to see all of us gathered here, as we do annually. Now the second part of the banquet starts. Bring the coliseum!" He spoke with emphasis on the last word.

The Coliseum?

Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

A servant seemed to appear from nowhere and gave a circular disk with beast's engravings to Sun Luo.

"Are you curious? This is the second event of our Banquet. Luo, that fellow took the nasty habit of the Saint to capture demons he finds unpleasing to the eyes." Yan King tsked.

Demons!

The flush had disappeared from his face at some point, and he looked interestedly at the disk in Sun Luo's hands.

"Now, let us begin!" Sun Luo threw the disk upward and it started glowing with a mystical light; The beast's engravings moved as if alive. There was a flash and a familiar sensation made Calum's eyes lit up. This was the feeling of teleportation; he became used to it in the Three Realms Steps treasure.

When he next opened his eyes, he was sitting in a spectator's chair. He was in what looked to be a coliseum. This one though was a bit peculiar, the spectator seats were still normal but the fighting ring was inexistent.

Looking at its supposed location one would instead see clouds.

Oh? It seems the coliseum is floating above a sea of clouds. With my consciousness, I can feel powerful auras in this sea. Wait!? The sea of clouds is part of the coliseum, it's the fighting ring.

Awe colored Calum pupils as he understood the inns and out of the treasure.

"Impressive right? This treasure is passed down in the Luo family since ancient times, but it's only in Sun Luo's generation that it's has been activated and its use was known. Of course, by Sun Luo himself." Yan King sitting next to him explained.

"Indeed, very." Calum nodded in agreement.

"Now, who wants to challenge the coliseum? I have captured demons from rank 4 to rank 6" Sun Luo spoke to the audience.

"Woah! Brother Luo, you've become even more formidable, capturing living rank 6 demons." One of the Devil Duo praised. He was the one that looked like a frail scholar with pale skin.

"You're too generous with your praise, brother Blood Devil." Sun Luo smiled while answering. The sight stunned the ladies in attendance. It was normal after all his smiles were rarer than an eclipse. He was proud of this achievement.

The others five powerhouses had a serious expression.

This abnormal fellow. They cursed. He became even stronger!

They thought the same thing in their heads.

"Senior brother Luo, this humble one made some progress in cultivation. He would like to test his mettle." A youth with a valiant disposition and light-yellow eyes answered the challenge.

"Terrific, let us see junior brother performance then." Not wasting any time Luo declared the start of the event.

The valiant youth nodded and jumped in the cloud sea.

Sun Luo waved his palm and a ripple spread in the air the coliseum. A projection appeared soon enough. This projection showcased the valiant youth in the cloud sea.

In front of him, the clouds parted and a 3m tall humanoid figure stepped forward. A thick menace could be felt from it, spreading even through the projection. It looked mostly like a human were it not for its aberrant size, the scales covering its body like armor, and the gigantic bull horns growing on its temple.

Battle intent surged in the valiant youth's eyes. He waved his palm and an ax appeared in his hand. Judging from the inscriptions on the body of the ax, it was most likely a treasure.

The demon was incensed since long ago. It was minding its business in the Great Wilderness when this absurd human trespassed on its territory and captured it without a word. It had been seeking an exit from this cloud maze since then.

Now when it thought it finally found an exit, it came face to face with another human. One could imagine its fury.

Crackle!

The demon bellowed skyward, and lightning crackled on its whole body.

Without hesitation, the valiant youth chopped savagely at the demon. The shadow of a huge ax fell from above as if wanting to open a new world.

"Hmm… Junior Brute Heaven Cleaving art reached the completion level. No wonder he volunteered for the challenge." Behind him, Calum heard the comment of another senior.

So, he is called Brute, Well-fitting! What raw power!

Calum thought rudely.

"Unfortunately, that demon has the bloodline of a Sky Lightning Sacred Bull. If not that single attack would have been enough to gravely injure it." Yan King spoke his eyes becoming abstruse. He gave the feeling that he was far away while being seated next to him.

A Sky Lightning Sacred Bull?

As if prophetic his words came true. The demon looked at the attack defiantly, then, trusted its horns. Above it, lighting surged and coalesced into a gigantic horn. The fluctuations emitted from it were ridiculous. The power almost reaching the completion level 6th state of foundation.

The valiant youth became grim, He executed a few hands seal and spat a mouthful of blood on his ax. The ax became as brilliant as the sun. He wielded it and chopped it on top of his previous attack.

Boom.

When their attacks met each other. There was only an explosion between heaven and earth. Even the cloud sea was cleared for 100km around them.
