(Bzzt! Bzzt! Bzzt!) The alarm clock buzzed, waking Kael. He prepared his things for school, and just before he left, he saw his mom and younger sister eating breakfast. "Have some breakfast, Kael," his mom said. "I’ll just eat at school," Kael replied, saying goodbye to his mom and sister with a quick, “I’m off, bye!”
As Kael walked, he remembered he hadn't finished his assignments. "I hope the teacher forgets about them," he muttered to himself. Only the first subject had started, and he already felt hungry since he skipped breakfast. As soon as the class ended, he quickly went to buy food. While walking through the crowded hallway, he got the strange feeling that someone was watching his every move, but he brushed it off and continued to get his snack.
When he returned to his classroom, he was shocked to find it empty. Panicked, he thought his classmates had already moved to the next subject. He sprinted out of the classroom, heading to his next class. Again, he felt that eerie sensation of being watched, but as he walked, a magic circle suddenly appeared beneath him. Before he knew it, he was teleported to another world. Astonished, he looked around, struggling to believe what he saw. "Wow, it’s like I’m in a dream," he whispered.
Kael started wandering and eventually reached a city called "Valoria" to gather information about this strange new world. While exploring, he saw a young girl begging on the street. She looked like she hadn't eaten in days, and passersby even treated her cruelly, as slaves were looked down upon in this world. Feeling sympathy, Kael tried to buy her some food, but the store refused his money because it had no value in this world. Disappointed, Kael remembered he had leftover food in his bag from yesterday, so he gave it to the girl, who looked overjoyed. “Thank you so much, mister!” she said.
"My name is Kael. What’s yours?” he asked. "I’m Mira," the girl replied. "What a lovely name," Kael said with a smile. He began to walk away, but Mira followed him, and Kael felt a sense of responsibility to help her. Seeing her plight reminded him of his own childhood when he was often bullied, so he knew how she felt.
They wandered together, heading to the guild to look for work, but they were turned away as others saw them as weak. However, a kind elderly woman approached, asking if they needed help. Though Kael was hesitant, he admitted they needed money for lodging. The woman took pity on them and invited them to stay at her house, as she lived alone.
On the way to her home, they stopped by the market to buy ingredients for dinner. Once they arrived, Kael helped the woman cook while Mira took a bath. When Mira finished, she wore one of Kael’s extra school uniforms, which was a bit big but worked fine. During dinner, the elderly woman asked how they ended up in Valoria. Kael explained he was from another world. To his surprise, she didn’t react with shock, simply nodding and smiling.

After dinner, Kael and Mira went to sleep on the floor, as the old woman’s house was small. In the morning, they thanked her and set off for the next town. As they traveled, they foraged for food and gathered items to sell for money. After days of travel, they finally reached a town called Drakarion. The town's size and beauty amazed them, and they spent the day finding buyers for their goods, managing to earn enough money to cover their expenses.
They found a small house for sale and arranged to pay for it in installments, giving them a stable place to live. As the days passed, Kael and Mira settled into a routine. Kael took on various quests to earn money, gradually growing stronger with magic. Over the years, Kael became known for his strength as he completed missions alone, while Mira took care of their home.
Eventually, Kael noticed his feelings for Mira had deepened, and to his surprise, Mira felt the same. They confessed their love for each other and soon got married. They started a happy life together, eventually having two daughters named Mirelle and Miralynne. They lived a peaceful life in the countryside, but one day, their happiness was interrupted by a knock at their door.
It was the Dark Army. They launched a sudden attack, and Kael immediately used his magic to protect his family, but their home was destroyed. Kael demanded to know why they were being targeted. The leader of the Dark Army laughed and revealed that Mirelle and Miralynne were reincarnations of the two most powerful mages the world had ever known, whom everyone once tried and failed to defeat. Kael refused to let his daughters be taken. Despite knowing he couldn’t win, he fought back with everything he had.
As a last resort, Kael used all his magic, knowing it would cost him his life. Just before the Dark Army could reach them, Kael teleported his family to another world. Although the Dark Army tried to stop him, it was too late—his family was gone. Furious, the leader of the Dark Army struck Kael down. As darkness closed in around him, Kael smiled, content that his family was safe.
(Bzzt! Bzzt! Bzzt!) Kael suddenly woke up, drenched in sweat, and looked around in confusion. "Was that… just a dream?" he wondered. Shrugging it off, he got ready for school. Noticing his mom was already at work and his younger sister had left early, Kael locked the door and headed out.
As he walked, he felt that same strange sensation of being watched. He ignored it, quickening his pace until he reached school. Classes went by quickly, and by afternoon, it was time to go home. He stayed late, missing the bus, so he started walking.
Again, he sensed someone watching him and hurried home. As he approached his house, the feeling intensified. Passing under a large tree, he spotted the silhouette of three figures in the darkness. Panicked, Kael was about to run when he heard a small voice, that of a young girl, say, “Papa.”
