After an eventful morning, Morgana went to the house of Vivien, wanting to know more about her. Getting inside her house, Morgana saw images of a woman. She and Vivien appear to be very close with each other.
The images tell a very powerful story, Morgana saw the woman playing with Vivien, raising Vivien, and comforting Vivien.
This must be her guardian.
Looking around the house, Morgana saw the name Luuriya. Seeing a letter in one of the tables, Morgana saw that it was full of fresh tears dotting the letter. It was a note from Luuriya addressed to Vivien. Upon seeing the letter, Morgana’s eyes flashed towards its end. It simply says,
“I love you, Vivien. I do not regret being your big sister. I will never hate you.”
What happened to her
Morgana realized that Vivien’s relationship with Luuriya is somewhat similar to her own relationship with her big sister as well as her relationship with Lilith. Remembering the times with her mother, as well as her abrupt end, Morgana knew the pain of loss pretty well. But at the same time, Morgana knows that at the very least, her mother was able to say goodbye. She is not sure if Luuriya managed to do the same thing to Vivien.
Morgana simply waited for Vivien in the main hall. She sat by the table. Opening her bag, she brought out a pack of soup that she cooked earlier in the day. Taking a bowl from Vivien’s cabinet, she poured her soup into the bowl. After using a small bit of her fire magic to heat it up, she set it in the table.
I hope she likes it
After a few minutes, Vivien woke up, and went to the dining hall. There, she saw Morgana in the other side of the table. A fragrant smell covered the room.
“Eat, Vivien, you’re going to need it.”, said Morgana.
Without hesitation, the young druid ate the food Morgana prepared for her. Upon tasting it, she said,
“It tastes fine, but big sis would prepare better food.”
Upon hearing the weird compliment and insult, Morgana simply forced herself to smile, knowing that Vivien has just suffered a loss.
“Don’t worry Morgana, I can see the effort and the work put on this cooking. Thank you.”, said Vivien
“You’re welcome.”, said Morgana.
“Thank you for saving me. I thought I was done for.”, said Vivien
“I need to rescue you, after I found out that you were taken by Fangs.”, said Morgana.
“They want more healers. Their group is planning to revolt against the Alliance.”, said Vivien.
“Revolt?”, asked Morgana.
“They felt that the corruption in the Southern provinces has become more invasive and destructive.”, said Vivien.
“But why go after innocent people?”, asked Morgana.
“I don’t know.”, said Vivien.
Vivien continued with her meal and finished her portion of the soup. After her hunger has been satiated, Vivien asked a question to Morgana.
“Why are you here at Caltron anyway?”, asked Vivien.
“We are looking for a healer in our journey.”, said Morgana.
“I wish I can join you, but I don’t think I’m strong enough.”, said Vivien
“What do you mean not strong enough?”, asked Morgana.
“I let myself get captured by those bozos.”, said Vivien.
“But I saw you heal animals in the grove. You also gave your all in supporting me. I think that’s a strength in itself.”, said Morgana.
Vivien simply just remained silent after hearing Morgana’s words. Although she wants to explore the world and improve her skills, she still isn’t sure on herself. She does not know if she is strong enough to support Morgana and her group.
Although Vivien has a sad disposing, Morgana’s eyes brightened when she heard Vivien say that she wishes that she can join them. For the sorcerer, it is only a matter of time until they can have a healer. In Morgana’s eyes, Vivien simply needs to believe in herself and accept her strengths.
“Anyway, I won’t force you to join my guild. But should you change your mind, you can join my guild. It is an open door, Vivien.”, said Morgana.
To cheer up the druid, Morgana opened her bag. Inside, there are cards and board games that they can play. The sorcerer took a set of cards and told Vivien that they will play a short card game, with the loser being indebted to the winner.
Throughout the morning, Morgana and Vivien played multiple games with each other, sometimes card games, sometimes board games, and sometimes, games like rock-paper-scissors. At around noontime, Morgana decided to stop playing games, with the score of 25-23 in favor of the sorcerer. Although Vivien insisted that she must play games with the sorcerer, Morgana told her that she needs to train for today.
“You train everyday, Morgana?”, asked Vivien
“Yeah. One day of heavy training, and another day of light training, and a day of rest.”, said Morgana.
“Can I join your training?”, said Vivien
“Of course, you can.”, said Morgana.
The two then went to the training grounds. There, Morgana practiced water magic, with the knowledge that it might be useful for another time. Whereas Vivien focused on her physical strength, wanting to be stronger so she won’t get captured again.
After some time in training, Lance and Musa went to the training grounds. The two of them approached Morgana. They told her that,
“We can’t find anyone who would join us.”, said Lance.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
“It seems no one wants to go on a long quest in this town.”, said Musa.
Morgana went to her companions and whispered,
“I don’t want to look for healers anymore.”
“What do you mean?”, asked Lance.
“Unless Vivien joins us, we are not looking for more healers.”, said Morgana.
“Isn’t that a little too selfish of you.”, said Lance.
“I went to her house just this morning. Upon reading the last letter of her guardian, it was a mentioned that Vivien has a desire to travel the world to become a better healer.”, said Morgana.
“So, it’s Vivien or nothing?”, asked Musa
“Of course.”, said Morgana
“Deal.”, said Musa.
“Aren’t you risking a lot in an all or nothing approach?”, asked Lance.
“Yeah, I know, but Vivien needs us just as much as we need her.”, said Morgana.
“Lance, there is something troubling this village. You felt it as well, didn’t you.”, said Musa.
“Yeah. I say so. A trouble is brewing.”, said Lance.
“If this village needs help, we will help them.”, assured Morgana.
After their training, the trio and Vivien were exhausted and went back to the village. There, they found out that Brayno went to the hideout of the Fang of the Sabres, hoping to stop them by himself.
Raring to go, Morgana almost dashed towards the gate to follow Brayno, but was stopped by Musa.
“We’re tired from the training. It is futile to go after him. We’re going to rest for today.”, said Musa.
“But” said Morgana
“No buts. This is a very dangerous matter. We will assist them once we are rested and ready.”, said Musa.
“Fine”, pouted Morgana.
While Gobren dispatched guards and fighters to search for Brayno, Mogana, Musa, Lance and Vivien rested at the latter’s house. Sensing danger, the three agreed to stay with the druid for the night.
With Vivien sleeping soundly, Musa walked around the house. Looking at the portraits, and the belongings in the house, it seems that Vivien’s guardian is a highly trained sorcerer. Looking at the books, Musa saw highly advanced druidic techniques. Continuing to walk in the house, he went to the basement area. There, he saw two tables, one for Luuriya and another for Vivien.
There, he saw what appears to be ingredients. Powders and other materials made from the trees and the other plants in the area, according to the book inside. As Musa touched the book, he felt that it was warm and appears to be used often. The edge of the pages felt more crumpled, indicating that the pages were turned often.
Seeing the ingredients and some unfinished concoctions, it appears that the two were creating a medicine or medicines to help people.
Maybe Morgana is right. This one can become the healer of our group
While Musa was wandering in the house of Vivien, Lance decided to prepare meals for the group. Looking at Vivien’s cabinet, the only foods he saw were prepackaged foods or were foods near its expiration date. He then wandered outside to gather food.
What has she been doing? She must have been eating in the Outpost during this time.
After gathering his ingredients, he went back into the house. Setting everything aside, he prepared food for the three of them. With Vivien’s kitchen still in working condition, Lance started to cook the food he bought. For him, preparing and cooking meals is one of the joys in his life. He would make sure someone would at least have another day to leave.
Just as he was cooking, Morgana walked across the kitchen. There, for the first time, she saw her knight cook food. Her eyes widened at how he prepared the food and how precise the measurements that he uses. Not wanting to disturb her companion, Morgana went back to Vivien’s room to watch over her.
After a day of training the druid was soundly asleep and is currently in her dreams. There, she kept on saying,
“Sorry big sis. I’m not strong enough.”
Seeing the tears in the eyes of Vivien, Morgana would wipe them out from time to time. She would also whisper to the druid,
“Don’t worry, you have a new big sis who will take care of you.”
What happened to her sister, and why is she apologizing?
Looking at the room, she saw a book partially opened. The title states “Life of Vivien”.
This must be Vivien’s diary.
Although tempted to read the diary, Morgana decided not to do it out of respect for Vivien. If she was to join their guild, it should not be by force or by coercion. Vivien will join FULL POTENTIAL on her own will and not thru someone’s machinations.
Deciding to simply comfort Vivien, Morgana brushed the hair of the druid. Smoothly and softly, she caressed her hair, giving her a sounder sleep.
Rest well, Vivien.
After seeing that Vivien is sound asleep, Morgana went back to the dining hall. There, she saw Lance and Musa, getting ready to eat.
“We’re just waiting for you.”, said Lance.
“What about the kid?”, asked Musa.
“She’s soundly asleep. It’s best not to disturb her for the time being.”, said Morgana.
“Well, we should eat. The food is not getting any warmer.”, said Lance.
After their long day of training, the three ate as much as they can. With Lance preparing a food of two whole chicken, as well as large chunk of goat meat and a bunch of potatoes, the three ate and gobbled the food in a fast manner. They were eating so much that they were making noise, which ended up waking Vivien.
Seeing the now awake druid at the hallway, the three invited her to eat with them. Initially hesitant, Morgana offered the seat next to her with a smile on her face. Unable to decline the offer, Vivien sat beside the three and ate the food.
“This food is better than yours, Morgana.”, said Vivien.
“I know. I’m not exactly a great cook.”, laughed Morgana.
“Yeah. But your food tastes good as well.”, said Vivien.
“I know, but Lance’s food is exceptional.”, said Morgana.
“Yeah. This is as good as Yana’s food.”, said Musa.
“Yana?”, asked Morgana.
“Oh, I forgot. She is the wife of Yuuno, and the mother of Yuulah.”, said Musa.
“Ooooohhhh.”, said Morgana and Lance.
“Yeah, I should not have simply blurted her name as if you already know her. Hahahahaha.”, said Musa.
“Oh, by the way, is that a compliment?”, asked Lance.
“Yeah. She always cooks well.”, said Musa.
“Where did you learn to cook, anyway?”, asked Morgana.
“As a holy knight, I had to learn everything. We are not simply trained for our strengths. We are trained to help our mentors since they would teach us techniques and tactics to help us get better in our training. As a show of gratitude, we were the ones who would cook for them and help repair their equipment. Due to this type of training, I learned how to cook with almost any ingredients.”, said Lance.
“That is one insane training.”, said Musa.
“Yeah. It is both the happiest time of my life as well as the most frustrating part of my life.”, said Lance.
Although Lance tried to hide his sadness, Morgana caught a glimpse of it. Not wanting to give it any attention, Morgana decided to talk on her own training.
“My grandpa would drill on me the basics and importance of spells and how to use it. When I was a child, I would not pay attention to anyone who would teach me.”, said Morgana
Sure, it was only when she was a child, thought Lance and Musa
“Since I usually get distracted when I was a kid, grandpa and big sis would drill into me certain incantations and spells from day to day. Due to that, I made it my singular goal to master the basics of magic and spells. Since I was too focused on training and strengthening my spells, I was unable to learn how to cook or simply prepare food. Whenever I try to help, my sister would always tell me that I shouldn’t destroy food whenever I prepare it.”, said Morgana.
So that’s why she didn’t learn how to cook, thought all of them.
“Why are you staring at me with any type of pity?”, asked Morgana.
“Nothing.”, said Vivien.
“Everyone has their own strength.”, said Musa.
“I feel sorry for your sister.”, said Lance.
“What do you mean?”, asked Morgana.
“You would do things that you want to do without thinking about it.”, said Lance.
“And, is there a problem with that?”, asked Morgana.
“Most of the time, that is dangerous. But in certain times,”, said Lance, glancing at Vivien.
“It is the right thing to do.”, continued the knight.
“Wait, why were you able to cook good food earlier this morning?”, asked Vivien.
“Ulgar helped me with it.”, said Morgana.
And she cooked for someone special. Or let’s just say two special persons. That would motivate someone to be better, thought Musa.
After finishing their meals, the four slept inside Vivien’s house. Morgana and Vivien in one room while Lance and Musa slept on the other room. When they closed their eyes, they slept heavily, weary from their training.
Waking up on the next day, they heard someone knock at their door.
It was Gobren.
“We managed to find Brayno. He really was going to try to attack the Fang of the Sabres. Luckily, we stopped him on time. But he still on the road, being restrained by our guards, I hope you three would make him come to his senses.”
“Alright then, let’s get Brayno back to the village.”, declared Morgana.
“Yeah”, said Lance and Musa.
“I’m going too.”, said Vivien.
“Let’s go then”, said Morgana
