“Welcome Player to Traum.”
A system prompt sounded in my head. I opened my eyes and saw trees as far as the eye could see. The smell of the forest tickles my nostrils.

A quest to find a village. So that’s why I am now standing in the middle of nowhere in the middle of a forest. It’s just for this quest. You gotta be kidding me. There is not even a minimap in my interface. How could I possibly find a village?
Oh well, I better stop complaining and start walking, the earlier I go to a village the better. And with that, I started walking.
While I was walking I heard a something and stopped. I raised my guard for I know nothing in this world. I looked around and noticed nothing. I guess I am getting paranoid for nothing. I started walking when I hear a noise again. Okay that I am sure now.
Suddenly the bush just beside me started moving and a rabbit just jumped out of it. I got scared for a moment and started to calm down. It’s just a rabbit what’s there to be afraid about.
I just took a step when something sharp just passed my face. My face started to sting and when I touched it, it feels wet. When I looked at my hand, there is blood. I am bleeding. That was when I looked back and saw tiny green creatures running towards me.
When I look clearly they are about half a meter tall and their skin is green and their eyes are red as blood. Goblins. That’s the only creature that looks like that. There are five of them, three holding a club and two that are holding a bow.
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
The three holding a club are running towards me like they want to kill me. The other two are starting to draw their bow. I started running as fast I can, I didn’t even bother to look back. Another arrow whizzed by me, luckily I tripped and the arrow barely missed me. The arrow hit the tree and I could hear a part of it getting ripped apart from the force.
I still continued running. My breathing starting to get heavy. My legs getting heavier. Why did I choose Civilian as my class, if I chose Athlete running would be a piece of cake. Then a goblin caught up to me. It raised its club and hits me. The club hits back, the pain made me groan and I started to fall. The other two are raising their club.
By instinct, I raised my hand to block one of their attacks. The clubs hit me. Ahhhh!!! It hurts. I could hear my bones breaking. I have no more power in my hands. I don’t want to die from being beaten to death.
I started to retaliate, using my fist I punch the goblin’s face. The goblin I hit was stunned for a quite a while and dropped his, which helped me handling the other two.
I got up and quickly picked up the goblin’s club and with all of my strength, I swung it to the nearest goblin. With it, the goblin was thrown away. Then a system prompt sounded in my head.
You have learned a new skill.
Bash (LVL 1) (Active Skill) (MP: 15)
With any weapon in hand, you strike with your strength.
Damage: +15 dmg.
“Hit it!”
A new skill. I tried it out next to the goblin.
“BASH!”
And I missed. This goblins are faster compared to me. With their small and quick bodies and with their numbers, they beat me up. Then suddenly, an arrow hit my left shoulder.
“Ughh,” I groaned. Then I look at the direction where the arrow came from. ‘Shoot, the archer has caught up.” I tried my best to go away from their encirclement.
With my random hitting, I finally hit another goblin head which was actually a critical hit. With that hit, I stunned it. I immediately run away. After a while of running, I stopped and prepared to use Bash combined with Labourer’s Rage towards a running goblin.
“Ahhh…,” I shouted and luckily I hit the goblin in its chest. It flew away and landed on the ground. The goblin stopped moving. It is dead already. When the other three goblins saw their companion dead, they got enraged and their assults became fiercer.
New wounds continued to show up in my body. My mind becoming blank, hands numb. Then with another opportunity came upon me, I immediately used Labourer’s Rage towards another goblin. It hit the head. I killed another one. Only two left.
I am already tired, I just wanna lie down. But I don’t want to die. Still, the other two goblins still want to kill me despite being tired.
I gathered my strength and charge toward them.
“AAHHHHH,” I shouted and swung the club towards one of the goblins. I hit it but not enough to kill it. Then the other goblin, using its arrow, stab it towards me. I wasn’t able to dodge it and the arrow was stabbed at my stomach.
“Ughhh…,” I groaned. Still, I used Labourer’s rage towards the goblin that stabbed me. I made sure that I hit the head so that I could trigger a critical hit. With that being said, I hit the head and killed it. One down and one more to go.
The both of us face each other. I have no more potions in hand since I already used all of it up. If it wasn’t for those five, I am sure that I’m dead now. As I was catching my breath, the goblin started to charge at me.
“Kyaaa,” it shouted. It raised its club ready and swung it toward my stomach. “Blurghh…,” blood coming out of my mouth. A system prompt sounded in my mind.
WARNING. HEALTH AT CRITICAL LEVEL.
I ignored the prompt. Even without the prompt, I know that I am already halfway dead. I raised my club and tried to use Bash.
NOT ENOUGH MANA.
I’m doomed. No more mana. Still, I continue to hit the goblin. It became a slug fest. I hit the goblin, the goblin hits me. And the system prompt always sound in my head.
WARNING. HEALTH AT CRITICAL LEVEL.
WARNING. HEALTH AT CRITICAL LEVEL.
Finally with a random hit, I was able to trigger a critical hit and was finally able to slay the last goblin. The last goblin fell while I remained standing up, barely. My arms feel heavy, my eyes turning blank, my body cold and the prompt resounding in my head.
My eyes starts to close, I feel so sleepy. I am starting to faint. This is bad. Am I gonna die? With that last though, my vision turned black. The last thing that I heard is a system prompt that I could not understand.
