Kaiden Takahiro (a handsome high school senior) steps into the attic of his grandfather’s house, a wave of nostalgia washing over him as he breathes in the familiar scent of old wood and memories. This was his grandfather’s own personal space, filled with a lifetime’s worth of treasures and trinkets. Sadly, his beloved grandfather had just recently passed away a few weeks ago, and Kaiden was tasked by his parents with sorting through his grandpa’s belongings that were in the attic to prepare them for donation or disposal. Kaiden’s heart longed to keep every item in the attic, as they held bittersweet memories of his late grandfather. But practicality and reality dawned upon him – he didn’t have the means to hold onto the entire house and every heirloom his grandfather had amassed. With a heavy heart, Kaiden resigned himself to the fact that he couldn’t keep everything, understanding the difficult task that lay before him.
Kaiden began the arduous task of sorting through his grandfather’s belongings one by one. He picked up a stack of framed photographs, each capturing moments of time and places long since visited. Smiling faces and distant landscapes stared back at him, eliciting a pang of nostalgia in his chest. Next, his gaze fell upon a heavy, locked chest, far too cumbersome for him to move on his own. Kaiden moved about the room, handling his grandfather’s belongings with care. He set aside items that held sentimental value or practicality: photographs, small trinkets, and some personal items that he could keep close with him. To the side, he created a makeshift donation pile, ensuring that nothing of value would be discarded needlessly. As he sorted, he mentally noted the larger and heavier items that would require assistance to move. The chest in the corner remained untouched for the time being.
The dim light of the room cast a warm glow around him as his hands delved into the depths of a box, rummaging through boxes and crates filled with more trinkets and antiques from his grandfather's travels around the world. Suddenly, his fingers brushed against something different – a small, intricately designed pendant nestled within a soft, delicate scarf. He pulled it carefully from the box, holding it up to the light to examine it more closely. Despite its small size, the pendant seemed to hold a certain significance, a sense of importance that piqued Kaiden’s curiosity. The metallic surface of the pendant was dulled by a layer of dust, but the engravings on its surface seemed to hold some sort of mysterious allure. Kaiden gently wipes away the dust that had gathered on the surface of the pendant, revealing a detailed engraving of a wolf etched into its surface. He marveled at the intricate lines and the way the light caught the ridges, giving the wolf a lifelike quality. The sight of the wolf sent a shiver down Kaiden’s spine, a strange and inexplicable sense of familiarity washing over him.

Kaiden’s eyes widened in disbelief as the pendant in his hands begins to glow brilliantly, emitting a soft, silver light. In the corner of the attic, a stunning wolf composed entirely of silver energy materializes, its form bathed in shimmering radiance. However, before Kaiden had a moment to react, the wolf-shaped energy lunged towards him with fierce determination. Instinctively, Kaiden stumbled backward, his heart pounding in his chest as fear and confusion consumed him. Kaiden’s panic intensifies as he attempts to flee, only to find himself paralyzed, seemingly glued to the floor. Another wave of fear washes over him as the wolf-shaped energy surges forward, the light radiating from it growing in intensity until it becomes blinding. Before he can react, the energy- shaped being crashes into his body, its energy surging through him, as if merging with his physical human body. A wave of heat and power surges through his veins, the force of the impact knocking him off his feet. With a lurch, Kaiden falls into an abyss like void underneath him, his surroundings obscured by the brilliant light and darkness. Kaiden’s senses are completely overpowered by the intense light and energy that envelops him. The sensation of weightlessness and an endless descent sends his mind reeling, and the impact of the energy merging with his body has taken a toll on him. As a result, he succumbs to the overwhelming force and darkness washing over him, causing him to lose consciousness, falling into a state of oblivion.
As Kaiden gradually regained consciousness, his senses were immediately assaulted by the chorus of sounds that filled the air. The cheerful chirping of birds and various other animals created a symphony of life, surrounding him with the vibrancy of the forest. The sounds of leaves rustling, twigs crackling, and distant calls of creatures filled the air, immersing him in the tranquility and beauty of nature. Kaiden slowly begins to regain his bearings, his mind still fuzzy as he lay on the soft forest floor beneath the thick canopy of trees. As he took in his surroundings, he realized something was amiss – the pendant, which had been clutched in his hand, was now gone. It was nowhere in sight. He sat up, scanning the area around him, perplexed by the disappearance. Leaving him disoriented and unsure of what happened to him or where he was since he was no longer within the safety of his grandfather’s attic space. Kaiden moved slowly through the forest, his steps heavy and deliberate. Passing by small meadows and babbling creeks, he felt as if the walk was an endless, grueling journey. Eventually, after what felt like hours, he emerged onto a narrow, dusty dirt road. He stumbled out of the forest’s edge, feeling disoriented and weary from the trek. Feeling completely spent; he leans against a tree that is close to the road to rest. Allowing his weary body to shut down as exhaustion takes over. His eyelids grow heavy, and eventually, he drifts off, succumbing to sleep.
