Skies burned and ashes fell from it like rain. What remained of a glorious city were rubbles with bodies littered everywhere and houses that still burned. Spent cartridges were also littered everywhere like leaves that fell from a tree during autumn with burning wrecks of planes and tanks.
“Mama!” a young voice cried out from all the destructions. A little girl with crimson red hair was seen hugging a mutilated body of a women.
Even though the city was in rubbles, it was not totally abandoned. Soldiers could be seen with grim look on their faces, their attire looking worn out with some having blood on it, either their own or from another. Majority were cleaning their weapons while others were either moving the bodies or drinking from their water canteen.
“I won’t forgive them…” the girl muttered under her breath, clenching her fist tightly.
“You need to move to a safer location. Over here is not safe.” one of the soldier told her before walking away.

All of a sudden, screeches filled the air and winged like humanoid creatures swooped out of the air and began to pluck the screaming soldiers into the air. Some were torn to shreds by the creatures sharp claws. The rest quickly readied their weapons and begun firing at the creatures.
Sounds of gunfire filled the air with the bolt action rifles but the winged creatures did not go down in one shot but needed multiple. The soldiers that were plucked from the ground was bitten in their neck before they went unconscious and was taken away.
“Shoot the ones that were taken! Being dead would be their wish compared to being taken alive!” one of them shouted out.
Soon, the machine guns were setted up and the rest of the creatures quickly retreated. The soldiers quickly surrounded the downed creatures and stabbed them multiple times with their bayonet, even making sure to stab the head plenty as they were known to pretend to be dead to lower their enemies guard.
Once more, terrible ear grinding screeches filled the air along side roars that shook the earth. A huge army could be seen heading the direction of the city. The winged creatures were only the scouts for it. Army filled creatures that invoked nightmare marched on. One of the huge monstracity at the back opened his mouth and shot out a glob of green ball into the sky which arced over and exploded over a small part of the city.
Anything touched by the green slime that rained down had instantly started to melt. Those that caught it on their face scream out loud in pain as the acid melted through their face. Others quickly tore off their clothes that had caught the slime. Guns were ruined and no longer usable.
One of them went to check up on the little girl but she was nowhere to be found. Dread filled his body as he ran around searching for her because he knew she was no longer in the city.
