Those Who Lives Within The Tower's First Floor

Those Who Lives Within The Tower's First Floor

Monsters descended from the sky, rose from the sea, and appeared out of thin air. They ran rampant upon the lands following their instinct to destroy, however, as those creatures ran rampant across Earth, the tower suddenly appeared. A structure that was somehow able to kill monsters that approached it. A structure that is said to have been gifted from the gods to humanity. That structure is the Tower of Leo

- How many times do you want Mother Lyvie to read you this story? asks an 8-year-old black-haired kid with black eyes wearing a white shirt and black pants while reading a book

- What's your problem, huh!? asks an 8-year-old blond-haired girl with blue eyes wearing a white dress

- My problem is that I've heard this story way too many times. answers the black-haired kid with frustration after closing the book that he is reading

- Why is the married couple fighting again? asks another 8-year-old kid with white hair, brown skin, and dark green eyes

- WHY DON'T YOU SHUT UP, SELEPH! yells the boy and girl at the same time

Mother Lyvie, who is obviously in her late fifties and has blue eyes and her hair covered,  finger flicks both the young boy and the girl on their forehead

- Watch your language, will you? she says while looking at the boy and girl

Mother Lyvie looks at Seleph

- And you mister. she starts. Didn't I already tell you to stop teasing others for your amusement?

- But Mother, you are the one that said that they have the same name the Dad and Mom of all the humans in the world. says Seleph. And you also said that they were married

The black-haired kid gets up in anger

- My name isn't Adam. he says. My name is Adamas

The blond-haired girl also gets up in anger

- And my name isn't Eve. she says. It's Evelyn

- Both of your names are too long. says another young girl with brown hair and eyes. who just entered the room. That's why we call you Adam and Eve

A bunch of other kids enter the room

- You're back from your walk, Elia? asks Mother Lyvie to the brown-haired girl

- Yes, mother. answers Elia

Elia looks at Seleph, Adam and Eve

- Why do you three never come with us on walks? asks Elia

- That's none of your business. replies Adam after sitting back down and reopening his book

Elia goes next to him and pats his head

- It kinda is. she says while patting him with a smile. Since I am the oldest here, that kind of makes me your big sister, right?

- You're only 4 years older than us. says Adam while reading his book

Elia looks at Seleph and Eve

- What about you two? asks Elia. There has to be a reason why you're not going out with us

- I, personally, prefer staying here and messing with those two. says Seleph with a smile. That's way more fun than walking around

Elia shakes her head with a smile

- What about you? she asks Eve

- This is the only time Mother can tell me the story of the Tower without any disturbance. answers Eve while looking at all the kids running around and yelling

- That's true, I guess. says Elia with a smile while looking at the kids running around and yelling

Mother Lyvie smiles as she looks upon the children

- By the way, Mother, when is Father Langton coming back? asks Seleph

- He had some business at the main Church on the fifth floor so I can't say. answers the Mother Lyvie

- Isn't the fifth floor the highest floor in the Tower? asks Adam after closing his book. What is Father Langton doing there?

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

- Actually, there are seven floors. says Eve. Not five but seven

- I don't really care. replies to Adam

Seleph takes Adam's book and opens it

- How come you don't care when your dream is to join the Golden Lion order? asks Seleph while looking into Adam's book

- Why do you even want to join the Golden Lion order? asks Elia while she looks into the book

Adam gets up once more

- The Golden Lion Order is the best out of the three Lion orders. starts Adam with sparkling eyes. They are in charge of protecting the royal family and are given many other missions. Do you know how the Lion orders are described?

Seleph, Eve, Elia, and Mother Lyvie shake their head

- The savage and wild; Black Lion order who are tasked with the exploration of the outside world, the Lawful and orderly; White Lion order who are tasked with the security and the maintenance of the law within the tower. Lastly, the proud and dutiful Golden Lion order who are tasked with the protection of the royal family and supports all the other Lion orders. finishes Adam

- That doesn't explain why you want to join the Golden Lion order. says Eve with confusion

- I want to join the Golden Lion order obviously because they are the best order. says Adam as if his answer was completely normal

- I can understand that. says Seleph while nodding

Elia, Mother Lyvie, and Eve look at Seleph in stupefaction

- Most people who join the orders are people who have noble intentions, yet you only want to join them to be in the best order. says Mother Lyvie to Adam

- That's right. says Adam with a smile. I'll join the Golden Lion order and I am going to climb the tower all the way to the last floor

- ADAM! yells Mother Lyvie with anger. HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND!?!?

The kids in the orphanage all freeze. All shocked by the fact that Mother Lyvie who rarely raises her voice, had yelled at Adam

- Why is she so mad? asks Seleph in confusion

Eve shrugs

- You two don't know how the tower works. says Elia with a sad smile. That's why you're not understanding why Mother Lyvie is so angry at Adam

- Adam, you must never say such a thing before anyone else. says Mother Lyvie with worry. Do you understand?

- Whatever! says Adam with a tone of anger as he gets up

Adam walks toward the door and opens it

- Where are you going? asks Mother Lyvie

- I am going to yell to the whole world that I want to climb the tower all the way to the last floor. says Adam with anger

- ADAM! yells Mother Lyvie again

Adam opens the door, goes out of the orphanage, and slams the door behind him

Mother Lyvie sits down on a chair with a palm against her forehead

- Something like this must never be said. says Mother Lyvie with nervousness. If somebody other than us had heard this... I don't even want to think about what would happen to him.

Elia puts her hand on Mother Lyvie's shoulder to comfort her

- We're going to go after him. says Eve while pointing at her and Seleph

- We are? asks Seleph in surprise

- Yes, we are. she says as she grabs Seleph by his arm and drags him with her outside of the orphanage

[With Eve and Seleph]

- Where are we even going? asks Seleph while getting dragged by Eve. We have no idea where he could be

- I think I know where he is. says Eve with a sad expression

[With Adam who is looking upon the entirety of the first floor on top of the largest building there is on the first floor]

The first floor is very similar to a slum. The streets are dirty and small. People are sleeping on those streets, while some women are looking for a man to pay for their services. Most buildings are small and those that are larger than the others are, majorly, barely standing. Standing in the middle of the first floor is the only way to climb to different floors. The Stairs. A large pillar that is connected to every single floor except the seventh and last one

- Do you know why Adam wants to go to the last floor of the tower? asks Seleph to Eve

- I also have no idea. says Eve while walking forward. But I think that it has something to do with the reason why he came to the orphanage

- Now that I think about it, we've been there ever since we were babies, but he was brought to the orphanage 2 years ago. says Seleph while looking upward. Do you think that his family abandoned him?

- I don't know. answers Eve as she stops

Seleph bumps into her

- Ow! What's wrong with you? he asks while rubbing his forehead

Eve points at the top of a large building

- I found him. she says while pointing at the building

Seleph looks up and sees Adam

- What is he doing all the way up there? asks Seleph. Wait a minute... HOW DID HE EVEN GET UP THERE!?

- Doesn't matter. says Seleph as she starts walking toward the building while dragging Seleph with her. Let's just go get him

[With Adam A Few Moments Later]

- How did you know where I was? asks Adam

Behind him appears Eve and Seleph

- I didn't know. says Seleph while rubbing his head. Eve is the one who found you

- I saw you up here about a year ago while I was taking a walk. answers Eve

- Taking a walk around here is pretty dangerous. says Adam while looking at the "town". If it wasn't for Father Langton, we wouldn't even be able to safely stay in the orphanage

- What are you trying to say? asks Seleph

- I shouldn't be here. says Adam with frustration. I don't belong here

Seleph heads toward Adam and grabs him by the collar

- WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU, HUH!? yells Seleph in anger. AREN'T WE FAMILY!?

- No. answers Adam with anger. No, We aren't

Seleph stares at Adam with anger while Adam looks at him without a shred of emotion

- Wh... What is... that? says Eve while shaking

Seleph lets go of Adam and looks at where Eve is looking. After patting his shirt, Adam turns around and does the same. What they see is an odd phenomenon as it is happening. Out of nothing, something was forming above the entirety of the first floor

- Monsters descended from the sky...rose from the sea... and... appeared out of thin air. says Eve with fear manifesting on her body and face
