In the dark ruins, a girl… no, a metallic monster sat uncomprehendingly. In the dim moonlight, the girl's features were illuminated.
She had breathtaking sapphire eyes that people said were cold and unfeeling and East Asian features. Her long black hair was filthy, and her body was covered in blood. A terrible stench was etched into the air. Her clothes were in tatters, yet on her skin, not a scratch could be seen. Around her was gore and in the distance, screams of horror could still be heard as terrifying war machines single-handedly destroyed powerful cities. Was she one of them?
The sky was cloudy, and the splatters of rain became music as it mixed with the blood. The only trees in the city were gone. She was alone. Everyone she knew was in the rubble that stretched on for miles. They were calling to her. His existence was the only reason she was even alive. She had thought that she would self-destruct once he was gone. That was how successes worked, wasn't it?
Her eyes fell upon an ancient sword that survived the disaster. The Rochester family kept many antiques. It was a good enough weapon; there were jewels embedded into the sword that were the color of his eyes. Twinkling emerald. She scrambled to the sword hurriedly, desperate. Grasping the sword hilt tightly, she swung it unfalteringly at herself; again, and again. The valiant sword slowly grew to become scrap under the constant hammering.

"##*#$!%#^!!!" She cursed loudly, her voice echoing in the silence. She threw away the sword in frustration, her enormous strength causing even more physical weathering to fall upon the pitiful sword.
It was strange. She couldn't feel a thing. She lowered her head to examine the wounds, hoping for a miracle and that maybe blood would gush out of the injury. After seeing the result, she was unsurprised but still mildly disappointed.
When the bombs and gunshots hit her, her skin didn't even twitch. When the people who she lived for shrieked with pain and agony, all she felt was coldness. She didn't want this, yet she couldn't feel anything else.
What was she thinking, that she was an actual human? No, she just yearned for the affections and feelings that humans had. In the end, what had happened? Because of her yearnings, her "loved ones" had gone to hell. What was she even created for?
Memories of her life cascaded like rain upon her, and her head hurt from the bombardment. She could remember everything- from the time he gave her his books to learn to read to the lines in, to his face on the day of his marriage…- this just made everything worse.
The rain droplets that slid onto her face looked like tears; if only they were...
If only… if only she could start over again… she would definitely not do anything extra. Just staying by his side was enough.
Do you want to start over? Do you want to become human? A voice whispered in her ears.
"YES! Please, I'll do anything! Please..." The "girl" was in a crazed state and didn't even have the mindset of wondering about the voice's identity before unhesitantly replying.
In the sky, the cloudy and thunderous sky slowly cleared, revealing a few twinkling, magical stars that seemed the turn the wheels of life itself…
