As the days went on
As the days went on, the battles became fiercer, the spring turned into the winter, and the boiling days made way to chilly nights, and the castle was still glorious and strong, that was their home, they lived there, slept there, ate there everything revolved around that castle but there was somebody new, Darar was now of age and had joined, she was at first bullied by her bunkmates, jeering at her for being a girl, and treating her as a housewife, leering at her and making vulgar jokes behind her back. This was a mistake, for one day they saw, to their horror, Darius, possibly the scariest man in the fort since the Commander fell to a dragon juggernaut, was her brother. One day they were leering at her, and slowly advancing on her, and as Darar winced at what was going to happen for maybe the 3rd time, their bunkmates heard a huge thump, and immediately, the youngest of them, Aranius, fell to the floor, his skull broken by the impact of a fist. The remaining three of them looked up and cowered and screamed as Darius stood in front of them, his eyes filled with blood rage, he held up Araniuses's lifeless body, and calmly said “You see this man? His fate is lucky, compared to yours”
A week later, they were strapped naked to wooden poles and screamed in pain. First, they had red-hot knives slash their bodies, then had their arms bound and thrown into the well. Those men were not the last men to suffer the mighty temper of the Commander of the fort. The old commander had taken a liking to Darius, had promoted him to Commander of the fort, and made Cassius Grand captain, shortly before he was killed by an enemy juggernaut. These were huge dragons, with thick armor plating and blazing fire spewing from their mouths at will. Although most of the dragons in dougaria are kangaroo size and just steal farmers' livestock, there are a few massive species, the largest of them being ancient sea dragons that can swallow up entire villages, but they are too old, so they stay in the depths, passively snoring in their last days, until they drift away into a deep, never-ending sleep. The juggernauts are the next best thing, they are roughly the size of a normal keep, and their armor is in some places thicker than the walls of the Varrakium, So when the commander came face-to-face with one, he was instantly pulverized into ashes. Darius chose to call his horse ‘Topaz’, as her eyes shone like jewels. She helped him through the toughest battles and always was there to cheer up the soldiers after a tough fight. One morning, Darius received a letter from the village council, saying that his mother had been fixing the barn when a surprise attack had been launched she hid in the barn until a rider came in and found her and the bewildered cows, first killing her with a mace, then slaughtering the livestock.

Darius fell to the floor, suddenly feeling sick. Not sick with sadness, but with rage. He pulled on his armor and put the letter on Darar’s pillow, he then called a gathering of the captains, and their 1000-strong armies. They stood at the gathering point and looked up at Darius. He was usually a nice, funny man, always with a smile on his face, but now his face was grim, with a deadly look in his eyes.
“Warriors of Olivia, men of our army. Today is a grim day. The farming village of Orela has fallen, along with all its residents.” A gasp ripped through the crowd, the village was a key point in the food supply in the kingdom, and I knew it had fallen, food would be harder to supply.
“So today we are assaulting the capital of Jarrt trade.” A cheer erupted from the ground below, making the wooden podium shake.
“GATHER YOUR WEAPONS GATHER YOUR ARMY, WE MARCH TO PORT MARTH AND SLAUGHTER THEM LIKE ANIMALS!”
Another huge cheer made the nesting ravens rise in a black cloud.
When Cassius and Darar came back from their patrol, they were surprised at the hustle around them, horses being mounted, ponies being loaded with tents and food, and masses of soldiers gathering in the plains below, making even, 100 by 100 formations Each captain was easily seen, as they had a banner in hand and were at the front of the formations. It was a daunting sight, with ranks upon ranks of men, each with the standard Olivian spear, shield, and single-bladed sword. Darius walked and gave them a sharp shout as to where they had been, he marched over, with his face the shade of a raspberry, and started shouting “Where have you been! This is poor discipline! I will not tolerate this! If you are out on patrol and the meeting bell sounds, you should come IMMEDIATELY this is horrible, you will have to explain why you went out of earshot, or why you ignored the bell!” After a lot of groveling and explaining they went into their tent and got dressed in their armor. They took their toughest breastplate, helmet, armguards, shield and breeches, their finest white cloak, and their sharpest sword and spear. Darar saw something on her pillow and picked it up. It was the letter that Darius had left for her, she read it, then read it again, not believing it then she fell to the floor and wept, making her mattress soaking wet. Had it not been for Cassius coming in and reminding her that they had to leave, she would have fallen on her sword.
