CHAPTER 969

Chapter 969 Yakov Takes Over

The atmosphere in the Faust family was oppressive. First, Zeke’s eldest son passed

away. Then, his eldest grandson was sent to prison. He’d lived many years but had

never encountered such a bleak situation.

In the living room, the whole Faust family was silent. Julian looked at his father and

grandfather, then turned to his sister for help.

“Isabelle, when can we leave?”

Their grandfather called them over to have dinner, but now he wouldn’t let them go.

Julian had never liked staying in Faust Manor, so he moved out as soon as he

became an adult. He rarely spent as much time there as he did today.

Isabelle gave him a cold look and said, “Be quiet. Can’t you read the situation now?”

Their grandfather obviously had something to say, and it was likely related to the

current situation of the Faust family. Julian didn’t offer any valuable suggestions but

was in a hurry to leave instead. If Zeke knew, he would be furious.

Julian was dismayed at her reply. He’d made plans to go out with his friends that

night. If he didn’t leave soon, he’d miss out on the chance to join them. Although he

couldn’t wait to leave, he dared not say it out loud. He didn’t want to provoke his

grandfather.

After a while, Zeke sighed heavily. “Yakov, you’re aware of our situation right now,

aren’t you?”

“Yes.” Yakov nodded.

“Tell me. What do you think?” Zeke looked at him, but he didn’t have much hope for

his second son. Although he was meticulous in his thinking, he was too verbose and

couldn’t accomplish great things.

However, Zeke didn’t have much of a choice now.

Yakov raised his head and looked at his father. “It’s obvious that someone is targeting

our family, intentionally releasing some bad news about us to cause panic among

outsiders.”

In just a few days, Faust Group’s stock had hit several consecutive daily limit downs,

and they’d had lost at least tens of billions in their market value. But that wasn’t the

most crucial point, as the market value would eventually recover as long as the crisis

subsided. The key concern now was thinking of a way to resolve the current crisis.

“You’re right,” Zeke agreed. He knew who was behind all the trouble, but he chose not

to disclose it explicitly.

He said to Yakov, “Now that your elder brother is gone, and Luke won’t get out of

prison any time soon, the Fausts are in your care now.”

Although he didn’t trust Yakov’s abilities, he had no choice but to put him to the task.

Yakov wasn’t very capable, but Zeke believed that his second son could become a

fitting head of the family with his patient guidance. After all, both his sons were

intelligent.

“Don’t worry, Dad. I won’t let the Fausts fall into the hands of others!” With those

words, Yakov would take on the responsibility of leading the Fausts and sorting out This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

the mess it was currently in.

Zeke nodded with satisfaction. If Yakov could resolve everything perfectly this time, he

would announce to the outside world that he’d officially handed over the Faust family

to him. Even if Alec had objections to it, what could he do? After all, Faust Group’s

shares were in Zeke’s hands, and he could give them to whomever he wanted. No

matter how powerful Alec was, he couldn’t control Zeke’s will.

Upon leaving Faust Manor, Julian took a deep breath of the fresh air outside and

looked at his father standing beside him. “Dad, are you really going to take over the

family?”

“What else can I do? With the current situation, the family will fall into Alec’s hands if I

don’t take over.” His thoughts were the same as Zeke’s-Alec was an outsider to the

main family, even if he was a Faust. Although Julian didn’t really care for their family

affairs, the death of Xavier affected him deeply.

“That’s true. But I’m afraid of Alec…”

“Don’t worry. I can protect myself.” Besides, would Alec dare to attack him? His guess

was Alec wasn’t so bold as to make another drastic move like that unless he wanted

to spend the rest of his life in prison.
