A young girl sat on a big rock outside her house.
She was drawing in a small journal her parents gifted her.
It was a small book with a leather cover, It had a small rabbit stamped into the corner.
She was trying to draw her friend.
It was his birthday today, and he was going to have a small party at his house.
She sung a melody as she drew.
The young girl had been practicing for this day, honing her skills at art.
Finally, The portrait of her friend was finished!
"Oh no", The girl had a worried expression on her face," Ahh! it looks horrible!"
Despite practicing for a while now, her art just didn't feel complete enough.
So she tried again.
Still her art didn't feel like it was good enough, as if it wasn't capturing his likeness.
What do I do? hmm.
She hadn't noticed until now, It was starting to get cold.
Stupid idiot!
She resented her friend for telling her about the demon king.
She felt scared when she thought of the world freezing over.
It made her feel helpless.
She sat on the rock shivering slightly.
Ill go back inside.
As she entered her home she immediately bundled up with a blanket and asked her father to light a fire for warmth.
Soon she fell asleep next to the warmth of the fire.
A cold and dark forest surrounded the knight clad in a dark red surcoat, and golden coat of arms.
The knight walked on a path, barely visible through their helm

They held a torch in their left hand, and a sword in their right, ready for any monster to attack.
As the sun rises and sets, a wolf jumped out of the brush and attacked the knight!
Immediately, while the wolf was still in the air, the knight brought their sword down on the wolf.
The sword had lodged itself into the head of the wolf.
For a few moments it tried to scratch at the knight, however eventually the wolf stopped moving.
The knight pulled their sword out of the wolf and blood spilled from its head.
"Wake up!"
"Agh!", The young girl yelled as she was awoken by her mother yelling for her to wake.
"Yes mother?", the girl asked, still nervous from her dream.
"Its almost time for your friend's party!", the mother was yelling from the kitchen, she was making a dessert for the boy's party.
The girl quickly got up and put on a dress with a warm lining on the inside, remembering the cold.
Soon she was ready to go to her friends party.
As she walked inside her parents greeted his mom.
It seemed his dad was not home yet.
She ran up to the boy, he was sitting at the end of the table.
"Hey! come here!", She grabbed his hand and began to pull him away from his seat.
He jumped off of the seat not wanting to be dragged off.
"Where, where are we going?", the boy said as she led him away from the table.
"Sit down! I'm gonna draw you!", the girl said it with confidence.
She led him to a chair to sit on, she then began to draw.
The boy sat as still as possible, slightly shaking from the tension.
Minute after minute they sat and the girl drew and drew.
Finally after 20 minutes, the girl finished drawing.
"My neck hurts, hurts! are you done yet?", the boy was struggling to stay in position.
"yeah! I'm all done!", the little girl smiled and stood up.
By any adult standard, the drawing was terrible.
You could barely tell it was supposed to be a person.
Even by the standards of a child it was mediocre.
But nonetheless the boy was overjoyed with happiness,
"Thank you, Thank you!", the boy took the drawing and looked at it, admiring it.
"You really think so? I tried my hardest, I did!", she smiled and waited for his reply.
"I love it, love it!", he ran up to her and hugged her.
"I really love my present!", the smile on his face was big and would have made anyone who saw it also smile.
For two hours the young boy and girl played with his new toys and ate some food.
Even the girl knew something was off, his dad wasn't here.
Why isn't his dad here? Did something happen?
Eventually the festive and celebratory mood died down.
It started to feel tense.
Awkward.
What could she do to make this atmosphere go away?
How troublesome.
Maybe she could draw him again.
Maybe she could hug him, would that make him feel better?
The two children sat in silence while their parents talked in the kitchen.
It felt like forever, way too long.
The door slammed open and there stood his father.
His father gave him a little pin with a red gem in the middle.
Along with that his father also seemed to give him something else.
A name.
"Hero"
As the little girl heard that name come out of his mouth she felt a little strange.
Lonely, somewhat at least.
She wasn't sure but she felt like he would leave her behind if we was a "Hero".
She wouldn't get to play with him anymore, she wouldn't get to draw him anymore.
It was just too sad.
"If, If your a Hero, I get to be a Knight okay?", She stood from her chair and made a declaration.
Hero smiled and looked at her, "Okay knight it is, isn't it?".
Knight looked up at him and smiled.
