The void portals opened and Earth was laid to ruin. Millions perished. Beasts that weren't of Earth roamed the land and more flooded in every day. Humanity was pushed to the brink of extinction. But after 100 years of slaughter, we were finally able to fight back.
Multiple energy sources were found to be leaking into our world through these portals that we later called Elemental Essence. These energies were Fire, Water, Air and Earth. By harnessing this energy were were given control over these elements. However, each person could only absorb and gain control over one element.
The war between man and beast raged on for thousands of years and finally, we were able to push them back and reclaim our land. Yet to our surprise, the portals never disappeared.
January 1st, 8095.
A man and his wife were running through a forest with blood and sweat coving them. The trees were purple and the sky was red, this was not Earth. He had long black hair and deep purple eyes that would mesmerise anyone who stared into them. She was equally as stunning, with light blonde hair reaching down her back and deep sparkling blue eyes that looked like they could hold all the stars in the sky. She held a baby in her arms wrapped in a blue blanket. He had the man's black hair and the woman's blue eyes. An adorable baby.
"They're still chasing us" she said franticly. Panic could be seen in her eyes. The man smiled and stopped running "what are you doing!" she yelled "I'll go stop them, you open the portal and prepare to send him through. I'll be back in a few minutes" with that his body shook and he disappeared from sight. She stared eyes wide with tears beginning to form. She quickly laid the baby down and began forming to portal. Suddenly a loud explosion shook the world coming from behind her. She was worried for her husband, but she knew he wouldn't die, as that explosion was most likely his doing.
Stolen story; please report.
She was mumbling something under her voice, sort of like an incantation when right in front of her a portal started forming. It was deep blue in colour and looked just like her eyes. 10 minutes had passed and the portal was 60% complete. Hearing footsteps coming from behind her, she turned around rapidly unsheathing a dagger strapped to her thigh. It was the man, and he was injured. He had blood flowing from a wound across his chest, and was extremely pale in the face. She turned around quickly getting back to working on the portal, tears streaming down her face.
He walked up and waved his hand. The portal instantly formed, changing from a deep blue to a purple. "I've changed the location, hell be going to masters residence in a lesser dimension. hell be safe there" he said solemnly.
She stood up with the baby in her arms, about the step through the portal when she was stopped. The man shook his head as she looked at him. She knew they couldn't go. Yet she couldn't pull herself away. She had to send her only son so far away? It was heartbreaking. She was sobbing uncontrollably at this point. "we haven't 'sniff' even 'sniff' named him. Im sorry" she said crying. the man gave her a smile taking out a piece of paper and quill, writing something down before tucking it into the babies blanket. He stroked the boys cheek before letting out a little laugh. "lets call him...."
