Aniya Matthias was drained. Exhausted. After a car crash killed her family five months ago, she'd been left alone in the world. All her dreams, hopes and ambitions had been crushed by the insurmountable pile of debt she'd subsequently inherited, and she'd been frantically been trying to keep her head above water ever since. She'd just about reached the end of her rope when suddenly, she finds herself in a parallel universe. Her doppelganger in said universe, Farah, desperately needs her help. Aniya's shocked to find out that in this world, she's a genius that has single-handedly catapulted society forward, having invented a new form of renewable energy, yore, that is more powerful than anything that exists in her world. She's amazed at how much better this universe seems to than her own - and that this is primarily due to Farah. However, Aniya soon finds out that the glamour and advancement of this universe are not what they seem. She finds out that Farah brought her to her universe because she desperately needs her help to solve the problems with the yore she created - and if the two of them don't find a way to stabilize it, Farah's world could collapse. Farah believes that Aniya is just as brilliant as she is, and that together, the two of them would be able to stabilize the yore. Aniya doesn't believe her at first - after all, she'd never thought that she was anything special, let alone a genius - but as she learns more about her doppelganger's world and begins to unlock her repressed potential, she realizes that it's mere circumstance that had pushed her down. And now, she can rise up.
