Even as the monster began to ooze into view, I ordered the lower tier metal eaters to retreat to the back, leaving the mid tier ones anchoring each of the sides. My line of metal coated skeletons braced themselves up against their shields, leaving them almost like a road block in front, the purpose for why I had brought them along. In the center of my formation, my skeletal avatar took its place as the front line captain, leaving Bas beside my mid tier body at the rear. If and when the front lines collapsed, it was going to be my final shield.
As the large blob of viscous green gel finally revealed its full size, I understood why the metal eaters were panicking. Simply put, the large Slime was huge! I had difficulty even labeling it a slime, based on what I was seeing. It was at least two stories high in its blob like form, and the sizzling fumes that surrounded it was a horrifying testimony to how dangerous its body was. Inside its greenish, gel like body, I could make out metallic objects and even remnants of bones floating around. Seeing its effects on its surroundings, I was forced reevaluate how much damage that the blob of sulfuric acid had done to everything in the armory/barracks versus the damage caused by time and natural causes.
The creature did not make any overt horrifying noise, but a silent bubbling sound echoed through the armory/barracks, growing stronger by the second. Just when I shook myself awake from my shock, a half a dozen lumps of fluid formed on the slime's body. I only had a moment to order my skeletons and allies to brace themselves, when tentacles shot out from the creature like lances, reaching over 20 meters to strike five of my skeleton summons and one of the mid tier metal eaters.
Even as my skeletons were blasted off their feet by the attack and the metal eater was almost spun sideways, my own attacks were already on their way back in retaliation. Five Dark Arrows shot away from my still standing skeleton summons, and a large [Fireball] shot out from from skeletal avatar. Meanwhile, I was buffing my all my allies with
The Dark Arrows hit the creature vaporizing small chunks of its body, but the thing just kept flowing/oozing its way in my direction. However the fireball hitting it seemed to draw the slime's attention, as its thin tentacles quickly merged together and plowed right into my low tier skeletal avatar, wrapping around me like some kind of horrifying, killing vest. I had a moment to consider what the fuck was happening before I not only watched myself get pulled towards the damn slime like a yo yo but also got to personally experience being swallowed by the monstrosity. All I can say is that whichever Japanese pervert ever dreamed up the idea of anime girls being molested by slimes needed to be shot a 100 times over. It was a good thing that I could not actually feel anything, as watching the bubbles rise around me, while the slime tried to dissolve my skeletal body, was not fun.

Mind you, this entire time, I wasn't exactly screwing around either. The remaining five low tier skeletons had gotten back to their feet, while firing their Dark Arrow spells at the slime, and my mid tier avatar was busy launching Dark Lances at the slime, vaporizing large chunks of it. The creature, which now had now swallowed my skeletal avatar, flinched backwards as its body surface rippled almost like it was in pain. Then, it literally rolled forward, like some jello like boulder swallowing everything standing in its path.
By this time, only less than a minute had passed since the thing had made its appearance, but watching the the creature smash into my skeletons, who had managed to scramble into a square formation in its path, I had to say I was impressed by the slime. Not even the metal eaters could do much against it, as it literally wrapped its tentacles around their struggling claws and bodies, pulling them towards it. However, that did not stop me from finishing what I had set out to do. Inside the slime, I was finally able to finish the 'Book' spell [Flame Spray], even as the Nether Armor around me started dissipate and parts of my bones began to break down.
A jet of fire spurted out in front of me and into my acid jello tomb, creating more bubbles and rapid vaporization. I felt like laughing as I literally had the ability to keep the flame going as long as my mana did not run out. However, I felt the mana concentration around me suddenly increased, signaling my captor was angry, and I had a moment to try and overload the mana being pumped into my skeleton avatar, before its soul flame was extinguished and my soul seed fled back to my main soul back in the throne room.
From my mid tier body, I got a good view of what happened when a summon's mana capacity is overloaded. “Glomp!” The muffled explosion inside the slime literally made it swell up like some kind of balloon, before a large amount of steam and fumes rose from its body. Maybe that was the final straw or may be it was the dozens of Dark Lances I had already hit it with, but it began to ooze backwards, withdrawing its tentacles that were grasping my skeletal summons and the metal eaters. The bugs scuttled backwards shaking their claws almost in panic, as fumes rose from their exoskeletons, which now looked like a corroded mess.
However, I didn't plan on letting the bastard run away after all this. A little less than a minute and a half had passed since the battle had begun, and I was finally ready with my finishing move. Watching the now somewhat diminished slime try to ooze backwards, I cast a 'Book' spell that had taken me this entire time to cast. “[Flame Pillar]!” A second later, a wide pillar of fire literally rose from underneath the slime, shooting up to the ceiling of the barracks/armory.
Not shying from the glare from the spell, I funneled mana back into the almost empty soul of my mid tier body. The spell had almost sucked my mid tier body/soul dry. However, I figured it had been worth it considering it was literally a one hit killer. When the flames finally dissipated, there was not much else where the slime had been, except for smoke and fumes. However, my undead senses told me that a newly liberated mid tier soul was nearby.
Noticing the metal eaters and Bas now staring at me quietly, I muttered to myself, “Well... quest accomplished, I guess.”
