Chapter 2: The Tutorial

The forest welcomed her with open arms, its lush greenery contrasting beautifully against the azure sky. Sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting playful shadows on the ground. Lyra’s pulse quickened as she moved deeper into the woods, eager to begin her first quest.

Suddenly, a prompt appeared in front of her, outlining her first mission: “Defeat the Goblin Raiders.” She smirked. This was it.

Navigating through the underbrush, she focused on her surroundings. The rustle of leaves and distant animal sounds heightened her senses. She had always been a strategic player, preferring to think several steps ahead. The tutorials on combat mechanics floated through her mind: aim for the weak spots, use the environment to your advantage, and never underestimate your enemies.

As she approached a clearing, she spotted them: a group of goblins, their green skin glistening in the sunlight. They were laughing, counting the spoils of their latest raid. “What a bunch of idiots,” she muttered under her breath, channeling her energy for the first time.

“Fireball!” she shouted, her hands glowing as the spell materialized. The fireball soared through the air, hitting one of the goblins squarely in the chest.

The creature shrieked, stumbling backward, but her victory was short-lived. The others turned, their eyes narrowing with malice as they lunged at her.

“Shit!” she cursed, instinctively rolling to the side to avoid a rusty dagger aimed at her throat. Heart racing, she fought to regain her footing.

“Thunderbolt!” she cried, her fingers dancing as she conjured another spell. A bolt of electricity arced through the air, striking another goblin and stunning it momentarily.

The fight was chaotic, the thrill of battle igniting her senses. After a fierce exchange of spells, she stood victorious, breathing heavily as the last goblin fell.

“Well, that was fun,” she laughed to herself, pride swelling in her chest.

With her first quest completed, she felt a rush of excitement—a taste of what was to come.
