A parade was going all across the town, though calling it a town was slightly generous. It certainly matched the size of any other town but the tribal huts that spanned all across the central hall which in itself was a massive tent gave it a more barbaric feel. The people matched it with even a sick child being leagues stronger than a grown man from anywhere else. Their behavior was equal with a very strong take all breeding into the very soul of every being in this town.
For someone like me, this sucked. By a random freak of nature, I was not like the rest of the hooligans that populated this town. From a very early age, I had a taste of the finer things in life, something I got from my mother but even thinking of the dead bitch was probably the only thing that got me so angry.
I took a deep breath, like the rest of the barbaric bunch I too had the rage, but unlike the rest of the meatheads, I did not focus on the raw emotion instead focusing on control. Slowly, the rage permeated through my body and a calm washed over me, one that gave me contentment.
The feeling did not last long, as my whole room shake massively. I groaned in annoyance. My house was on the edge of the town where it touched the dread forest. Which meant constant combat near my house, with humans and monsters being able to trade blows at levels that caused the air to burn and the very earth to shake but both were too stupid to ever do anything meaningful just chuck it around hellbent on destruction.
This, however, was not one of those stupid fights that got too close to the town boundary, it happened often enough near my house for me to know the nuances of these things. No, this was someone trying to get my attention, and very few people even in this town can make my whole house shake, there were way too many force absorption enchantments on my little slice of heaven for that to happen.
Only six people I knew could do it, and out of them, only one was obnoxious enough to show off like this. But that also meant I could not just act like I was not here. Using a very well-used white ribbon between the pages of the book I was reading to see the jerk who was at the door. My house was the only one in the whole area to actually have a door and thankfully strong enough that no one could casually rip it off.
I unbound the magical string that was keeping the door locked and sure enough, the asshole standing in the heavy snow in only a loin cloth was just who I thought it was.
Sehal stood there with his trademark sneer, the only mar in his otherwise honestly handsome face. His lack of clothes is a statement of his strength though from his body which only had a slight tone to it one might not realize his stomps could cause earthquakes. But that was the story of everyone else in this town, gaining muscle was related to an overall increase in strength in an exponential fashion. So the fact that his muscles were even showing at all was a very scary thing. Only the current chief looked like he had a truly built body.

"What is it, Sehal?"
The sneer transformed into true anger as he shouted his voice sounding like a thunderclap.
"You will address me as young chief or master of war! You have not earned the right to call me by my name, dreg!"
I sighed, my novel was just getting to the good part and I did not like interruptions. Besides, every idiot here had a ridiculous twisted code they followed like a religion even though they followed none of the gods. I knew he had nothing he wanted so he could not make an empty challenge as that was very frowned upon by our customers even more so for someone in his station. I simply asked.
"Why are you here?"
A note of exasperation in my voice.
"Look, you know your petty shows of force don't do much. Can we get past this so you can tell me the reason?"
He looked like he was about to explode but he kept still. The rules here were very harsh but had so many loopholes that even a child could abuse them if they were smart enough and getting the 'warrior class' to blow a fuse was one of my favorite pass times.
After a full minute had passed where I stared impassively at him while he tried desperately to cow me with his angry expression alone he finally gave up. With gritted teeth he said,
"I and Abria are to consummate our marriage tonight. As such the whole town is required to attend, that includes you Sadric."
Suddenly it felt like someone had punched me in the gut. I kept to myself most days but I could not imagine the reason my first love, my beautiful and only friend had not been visiting me over the last week was that she was to be betrothed.
Seeing my current state a cruel smirk dawned on his lips.
"Be sure to be there to see me break her maidenhead, it shall be glorious."
Anger was not the emotion coursing through me. No, the thing I was feeling right now was despair. Abria and Sehal were equal in strength which meant the only reason he got it was because she agreed which was only fuel to the fire.
Seeing he got under my skin he turned around and started walking away with the parting words.
"Do not miss it, the chief will be angry."
I could only stare at him with impotent rage, after all, what could I do, this was her decision and I had no right to change it.
I wanted to hit something, to yell in rage. But no that would be too uncouth of me, I took a deep breath and entered my house, the only house that was a legitimate house in this forsaken town. This too will pass.

This is an idea of a story that popped into my head while I was writing a chapter in the other story I am currently writing and I liked it so much that I had write it down, comment if anyone wants me to make this more active.
