Hey there, Fam! This is not a chapter as indicated above but rather a declaration that some edits will be happening and to inform you of what they will be. These may happen from time to time since I sometimes make mistakes or just need to change some things around. This time around I missed a detail for one of my creatures, namely the Emerald Adder. In my mind, an adder was much bigger than I thought and it turns out that it naturally fits within Valterra's Tiny Dungeon Title at around 2 feet long or 60 cm. This means that Valterra's Title doesn't affect the snake as I thought it would so further Emerald Adders will appear later in the story at full length rather than super tiny.
This update is a small one but I wanted to notify you of the changes so that further developments don't take you by surprise. Props to Rowing Sailor for his comment on chapter 19 that actually prompted me to recheck my research whereupon I found the need for the edit. That being the case, you all now get to hear all about what I've learned about Adders! :D
Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road.
Adders are native to England, Wales, and Scotland but are also present throughout parts of Europe. They are the only snake to live in the arctic circle which is super cool. They basically flatten themselves like a pancake in order to absorb as much heat from the sun as possible. They also keep embryos inside their bodies to keep them warm and give birth to live young. Their venom isn't usually lethal to humans but is quite deadly to their common prey which consists of small mammals. Since small mammals are active in the northern springtime this allows the snakes to eat once and survive for weeks or maybe even a month. This helps them live through any unexpected cold weather.
All in all, they are a super cool creature and I'm excited to flesh out the Third Guardian more in future chapters.
