Chapter Two: First Day... wherever I am

Chapter Two: First Day... wherever I am

When I woke up the purple room was gone but where I am now isn’t too much of an improvement. I also woke up with my face on someone else’s set of cheeks. Something I would rather not talk about.

Getting up was a struggle. It was dark, my ribs were still broken, I was still only wearing a pair of boardshorts and I could also feel all the pains from the bruises all over my body.

Looking around, it didn’t take me long to work out where I was. A prison cell - a medieval looking prison cell.

Everything was stone except for the hay, or maybe grass, we were all lying on. Those still on the ground anyway.

Six guys were already up, five of them watching one heavily muscled bloke banging on the only source of light in the room, the cracks in the door, looking more like he was trying to beat it to death rather than try and get someone’s attention.

I stumbled over to watch with the others before asking the guy beside me what was going on.

“Does it look like I having any fucking idea, THAT ANY OF US DO?!”

His yell was harsh and loud and it sent me stumbling back from it like a flash grenade, reversing all the way backwards until I hit a wall. I wasn’t the only one startled either. Clubby stopped what he was doing and the others turned to look at him as well.

Hearing some groans however, we all looked back at everyone still on the ground to see them all start to come to. Those of us standing all looked back at each other, before Clubby started getting all frustrated again and restarted to start banging on the door.

While Clubby is doing his thing with everyone else watching, I retreat to a corner to try and figure out what the fuck is going on.

I try to think, make sense of what’s going on but I can’t. Thoughts aren’t forming as they used to so all I can try to do is to get myself together as I focus on my surroundings.

Everyone is up and standing now and my mind just counts them. 31. 32 including myself, and we all look miserable. We’re all still in our swimwear, hell one of the guys is even wearing a speedo, and we’re all standing around looking at each other, the room, Clubby and that was when I noticed something...

“We’re all men… and we’re all around the same age”

I spoke before I realised I had and everyone turned to look at me before looking around and confirming it for themselves.

“Where’s my Wife? Where’s Cindy?”

“April? Where's April?”

“Mitch? Harry?”

Next thing, everyone started looking for the people they knew, a few found some and then proceeded to huddle together.

“Jack? Jack, where are you?Jack?”

One guy was especially upset, searching around everyone, moving to every corner and every wall before checking the pile of hay. Finally, he turned and ran to the door, shoving Clubby out of the way to begin banging on the door even more frantically than he had been.

“Where’s my son?”

“Jack?”

“Where’s my son? Where’s my son goddamnit!?”

“Give me my son you Bastards!”

He kept hitting the door, screaming for his son and all of us stood there and watched. He kept hitting and hitting and we kept watching and watching until he became too exhausted to continue and slumped down against the door. I looked around at everyone, we all did, and then we sat down as everyone had become tired. And we waited.

No one felt like talking, no one felt like anything. At the back of my mind I realised I was in some sort of state of shock. I was playing everything that had happened over and over again in my head. The beach, the water, getting caught, sinking, falling through, the purple room, the man, here. The beach, the water, getting caught, sinking, falling through, the purple room, the man, here. The beach, the water, getting caught, sinking, falling through, the purple room, the man, here.

CRRREEEEEEEAAAAAKKKKK

We all looked up at the same time and saw the man who was screaming for his son being pushed away from the door and falling on his back as it opened.

Then he walked in.

It was a man, but a different one this time. He was tall and wearing some sort of armor but you could tell that there was strength lurking underneath. But that wasn’t what was most important.

That wasn’t what caught everyone’s breath, mine included. That wasn’t what made everyone freeze up.

The man’s skin; it was blue.

It wasn't paint and it wasn’t a tattoo. It was his skin, his blue skin. His skin was literally blue.

...What the hell is going on?!

The blue man looked over us all before he looked down at the man who was previously screaming for his son. He bent down, grabbed him by his throat, picked him up, and walked back out the door, closing it behind him before any of us could react.

We were all too stunned.

We just kept on sitting there processing what had happened. None of us, I can safely say, figured out anything. I don’t what happened but I was sure of two things:

One. There were now 31 of us.

And two. I am not on Earth anymore. I don’t know where I am.
