Prologue

Prussia, Europe, 1843

Sometimes I think I have the coolest job in the world, traveling through time and finding ancient artifacts, other times saving notable figures while hiding in the shadows to preserve the timeline.

Then there's a time like this...running through the cobblestone streets in the pouring rain in a country that needs to remain the way it is for it to grow and become the powerhouse it will become in the future....my present time.  As I pause to catch my breath, clutching a stitch in my side, I turn to the man beside me.  A smug look crossed his long narrow face making me want to reach out and smack it off his face.

If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

“I told you they’d find us...stupid dress, how can women in this age expect to get anything done.”  I looked down at the long flowing skirts hanging just above my ankles and cursed again the necessity of wearing the fashion of the ages to blend in better.

I pointed a finger in Eric's smug face and said “If it weren’t for you, we wouldn’t be in this mess, why did you have to butt in on this deal?”

“I’ve told you time and time again, our paths are destined to cross time and time again.  You gave me my job the first time I saved your life.”  Eric’s pleasant baritone voice rumbled out barely containing the amusement in his voice.
