Cao Ni Ma was confused, upset and throwing a tantrum by starving himself.
Reason being, he was currently having dinner outside in a place he did not know of and was with an elderly couple which he had never seen before. But most importantly, there was not a single meat dish on the table! For a growing young fatty, it was of utmost importance that he obtained sufficient sustenance to grow up big and healthy.
“What’s wrong Young Master Cao? Why aren’t you eating?” The elderly grandmother put down her chopsticks and asked Ni Ma.
“Where are meat? I want chicken, pork, chicken, and chicken. So much grass here.” Ni Ma questioned while pouting.
“Oh, we’re vegetarians. The only source of meat we have comes from a nice hunchbacked old man who gives us meat from monsters that were attacking the village. He’s quite an oddball and comes out from the forest as if he lives there.” The grandmother pointed outside of the window which led to a dense forest beyond the village’s fields.
“Oh meat from big forest, so if go forest there are meat.” Ni Ma nodded his head in understanding and picked up his chopsticks to begin eating.
“Well that’s enough talk from the two of you, a growing boy should eat more! Ohoho!” The grandfather who was stuffing his mouth used his chopsticks to dump a large portion of vegetables into Ni Ma’s bowl and the trio resumed enjoying their dinner.
.
It was night and the stars were out. The elderly couple had gone to sleep. Before Duo Yu returned to the Cheng Shi Province, she made sure Ni Ma had basic necessities.
Duo Yu had dug out a brand new latrine just for Ni Ma; she used her Qi to cause an explosion in the earth, making a hole large enough to be a latrine. Then to make a bed, she found a giant rock and horizontally sliced it apart. Leaving a clean surface large enough for an adult male to lie on. It was the hardest bed Ni Ma had ever slept on.
Unable to sleep due to the discomfort caused by the 'rock solid' bed, Ni Ma was wide awake and remembered what the old granny said during dinner. “Ehehehe if go forest, get meat.” Ni Ma said to himself with a giant stupid grin on his face. And thus, his long trudge to find meat began.
With the moonlight illuminating his path, Ni Ma walked past the rice fields and was finally in front of the forest. He was reading a sign that was hammered into the ground.
“Long Kingdom Ruins ahead. Long means big, kingdom means mother. Mother means food! Granny was right!” Ni Ma pieced the words on the sign together with his limited vocabulary and illogical thinking.
Ni Ma leisurely entered the forest, leaving behind the sign that said “Danger! Long Kingdom Ruins ahead! Monster Alert!”
.
Several hours later, Ni Ma was deep within the forest.

There, an enormously withered tree was rooted. Its gnarly branches twisted upwards in all four directions, without a single leaf remaining. Its trunk despite being hollowed, remained strong and sturdy while its ancient roots spread far and wide.
Suddenly from afar, Ni Ma could see the silhouette of a canine. Immediately he shouted ‘Wow is a dog!”
But it was not just a mere dog for it was a Moonlit Forest Wolf, armed with razor sharp claws and fangs it was highly intelligent and hunted in packs. A single wolf could fend off against five Early Stage Mortal Cultivators. This is because, in comparison to a normal wolf, the Moonlit Forest Wolf had Earth Qi condensed in its body, specifically its muscles. Making it far stronger than a regular wolf.
“Awooo~” Taken by surprise from Ni Ma’s sudden shout, the Moonlit Forest Wolf immediately howled for reinforcements and ran away to create distance so that it would not be taken by surprise.
Ni Ma had a cultivation level of a Stage Two Mortal Cultivator despite had never cultivating before. This was because his Qi pathways were forcefully unblocked, his body could slowly absorb the residual Qi in his system.
However, a Stage Two Mortal Cultivator facing a pack of Moonlit Forest Wolves was suicide. Even a Stage Nine Mortal would have great difficulty facing such monsters.
The pack of wolves soon gathered, their eyes sparkled under the moonlight. From amongst the wolves, a wolf that was twice as large as the others with numerous old scars and wounds all over its body. It was clear that this wolf was the pack alpha and had gone through numerous battles.
In the alpha’s eyes, Ni Ma was like a sitting duck. Killing a lost, vulnerable child would be like taking candy from a baby. The alpha growled, ordering the wolves to attack.
Ni Ma seeing a whole pack of big dogs suddenly running towards him at full speed, felt afraid. He crawled through the dead tree’s roots, intending to hide in the tree’s hollow trunk.
Unfortunately, Moonlit Forest Wolves have brilliant eyesight at night, Ni Ma’s efforts didn’t go unnoticed by the pack. Furthermore, the wolves had a strong sense of smell and could easily sniff Ni Ma’s scent if he hid nearby.
With a low growl from the alpha male, the wolves began throwing their bodies at the hollowed tree in an attempt to topple it over to obtain the juicy morsel within. Despite, the wolves large bodies and great strength, the tree only slightly budged after. Although the tree was dead inside, its exterior was made up of thick and ancient bark and its roots had stretched out vast and wide underground. The wolves would likely need several hours to topple the tree.
Inside of the hollow tree, Ni Ma had discovered that there was a small tunnel leading deeper into the earth. The tunnel was large enough for him to enter but too small for the wolves. Without any other options, he descended into the tunnel.
The tunnel got steeper and smoother as Ni Ma went down. Eventually, he was sliding down instead of crawling down.
The tunnel opened to an underwater cavern with a pool of water. With a splash Ni Ma fell into the water, soaking him from head to toe.
As Ni Ma doggy paddled to the edge of the pool and climbed out, a mysterious voice rang out from deep within the cavern. “Congratulations on solving my puzzles and arriving here! By doing so you have proven your strength, wits, and smarts. Thus, you are worthy to receive the inheritance of me, the Alchemy God and be my successor!”
At the end of the cavern, a rusted door double door swung open with great force. As smoke began pouring out from the room behind the door, a silhouette of a hunchbacked old man who could only be the normalfag who declared himself as the Alchemy God rushed out to meet his visitor.
However, what he saw left him mortified. “It’s a fat little shit! How the f*ck did a dumb little cunt get here!”
