Azurevale village

"Wake Up!"

Startled awake by the commanding voice, a cute boy around seven or eight, with long, tousled blue hair, blinked open his purple eyes. He found himself in a floating carriage, its shimmering surface glinting under the soft glow of a distant sun. The air was filled with the hum of magic, and the faint scent of flowers drifted in through the open windows.

"Where am I?" he murmured, his voice calm despite the confusion swirling in his mind like a storm.

"You're awake!" came a sudden voice from beside him.

"Ah!" The boy jumped, startled, and hit his head against the roof of the carriage with a soft thud.

"Ouch!" He bent forward, rubbing the top of his head, trying to shake off the shock.

"Pfft! Hahaha!" A girl with silver hair and sparkling red eyes laughed, her cheeks flushed with amusement.

"Oh my God, I'm dying!" She wiped tears from the corners of her eyes, her laughter ringing with joy.

"Y-you, who are you?!" he stammered, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment as he attempted to regain his composure.

"I'm Xu Xiaolian! Earlier, my uncle and I spotted you in the wilderness, about to become lunch for some wolves. I saved you just in time!" She beamed with pride, her smile bright enough to light up the dim carriage.

"Uncle? How come I don't see him?" he asked, still trying to grasp what was happening.

"Of course you don't see him; he's driving! If you could see him, we'd all be doomed!" She rolled her eyes, exasperation creeping into her tone, but the corners of her mouth still curled into a playful smile.

"By the way, what where you doing in the wilderness anyways?"

"Right... What was I doing in the wilderness?" His voice trailed off, confusion settling over him like a heavy fog. The memories were just out of reach, teasing him like whispers in the wind.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

"Never mind that. Where are you from?" Xu Xiaolian pressed, her curiosity shining through, eyes wide with interest.

"I—I can't remember…" he admitted, his voice barely a whisper as a wave of anxiety washed over him.

"Then what's your name?"

His brow furrowed in concentration, but all that came to him was silence."My name is… Is… Is…"

"You can't even remember your own name?" Xu Xiaolian's eyes widened in disbelief, her playful demeanor shifting slightly to concern. The boy looked down, feeling the weight of his lost identity pressing down on him.

"I don't know… I just can't remember anything."

Just then, the carriage began to descend, the sound of wind rushing past them gradually fading. They floated down towards a vibrant village nestled in a valley below, on the village gates were the words 'Azurevale village'. The boy's heart raced with a mix of anticipation and uncertainty as the ground drew closer. As they landed, the carriage settled gently onto a cobblestone path, surrounded by lush greenery and the sound of laughter echoing from nearby.

Xu Xiaolian stood up, brushing off her clothes with excitement.

"We're here!"

"Here?" the boy echoed, looking around in awe. The city was bustling with activity, vibrant colors splashed across market stalls and people moving about, unaware of the adventure he had just escaped.

Suddenly, a tall figure emerged from the carriage's driver's seat. He was a rugged man with kind eyes and a warm smile, his hair slightly tousled from the wind.

"So, you're finally awake!" he said, his voice deep and reassuring. The boy blinked, taking in the sight of Xu Xiaolian's uncle.

"Y-you're...?"

"I'm Xu Wei, Xu Xiaolian's uncle," he said, stepping forward and extending a hand.

"I'm glad we got to you in time. You gave us quite the scare back there."The boy hesitated, then reached out to shake Xu Wei's hand, feeling a sense of warmth and safety in his presence.

"I... I don't remember anything."

"That's alright," Xu Wei replied, his tone gentle.

"What matters is that you're safe now. We'll help you figure everything out."

"Really?" the boy asked, hope flickering in his heart.

"Of course! But first, let's get you something to eat. You must be starving after all that." Xu Wei grinned, and the boy felt a wave of relief wash over him.

"Yeah, I am," he admitted, his stomach growling in agreement.

"Come on, then!" Xu Xiaolian called, grabbing his hand and pulling him toward the village.
