Chapter 1 - New Mind, Same Soul

Chapter 1 - New Mind, Same Soul

This house of average qualities, normally sized, normal looking in a normal neighborhood, with a normal. But that is only from the perspective of an outsider, as the whole family--well not whole family, but most knew of the concept of magic being real. But one member of the family was especially strange, with especially strange happenings around this member of the family.

First of all, this member of the family never even defecated or urinated, well once it did but that was at the beginning of it's life, and it cried, and the pile and liquid of germ infested waste disappeared immediately. Of course this member ate, and ate, and ate! This member loved to eat, and it did not gain unnecassary weight, and was in fact quite healthy, could've been unofficially the most healthy being in the world if it wanted to.

At first the family panicked, and panicked some more, as if mice being hunted by a member of the cat family of species. But after a while of noticing that nothing abnormal was happening to the baby, other than the lack of waste and lack of unnecassary weight from all that eating, they calmed down. Although they still cared, albeit being overly careful for this child as if it would be injured just by being poked, and when reprimand the child when it would float junk food to it's mouth as if it could understand english. But all they know is that it could speak all languages and was just deciding not to speak with how abnormal it was.

Even when the rare chance of the child accidentally harming itself occured (which happened only once mind you), it would heal rapidly or instantly (it was hard to tell as the healing process was quite fast). Afterwards when the child was in a situation that should cause harm, there wasn't even a scratch except the clothing being slightly ripped or dusty.

Although this should've happened much earlier, they decided to name the child (they didn't name him earlier due to the strange occurences). Family members throwing around names, a few throwing out names that actually made sense, and then one that stuck. That name was Cud, which literally meant miracle in Polish. The reason why this one stuck was not only because it was easy to say, but it's meaning as well since it described his whole existence at that moment.

So the child made of miracles was named Cud, quite fitting for anyone who knew or learned the meaning of his name and knew what he could do.

Although any family would like to brag or ask for advice on how to care for a miracle child while panicked, this small family was not any old family, but they were all anti-social towards anyone who was not in the family. Also, because this child was of course not using a wand, the ministry didn't know either, noone outside the family knew about this child, as they didn't go to parties obviously nor did they have baby showers that were not baby showers.

One might find that information strange but if one were to research the family and look into the past of people who had that surname, they would soon find out that this family was unlucky and the head of the family was a famous auror that many death eaters tried to track down.

So of course they would hide away because of potential spies and death eaters eager to find them and destroy them. Then there's even more reason to hid away as the only child of this small family was a miracle child, one that could bring them prosperity and happiness, well even more happiness than the amount they already have from bearing a child that is beautiful and handsome at the same time.

This small family of 3, was obviously shocked to find that the head of the family was killed in action in a raid hosted by death eaters who ambushed the posts of the squad. Devastated was the correct word for the family was just that, devastated. With only one exception, the child, well of course he wouldn't understand as he was only 3 months old and had only met the man once in it's short life. Well short life was the word to be used by one that didn't know that the child has memories equivalent to a few thousand years, that were still sinking in at the moment.

Then, one by one, the rest of the family died, leaving only the mother and the child. Out of desperation, the mother left her son at the steps of an orphanage at the age of 13 months, she couldn't risk the life of her miraculous son, who could potentially stop the war. Of course she didn't actually know whether or not he could stop the war just with his strangeness and abnormality, but she believed and believed she did with all her heart, and disappeared...

...

Life for Cud was easy, as the orphanage was managed by a rich family who was especially kind to children. Albeit with it's own strange occurences that the orphanage has now acklowledged as normal by now, if they hadn't they would've gone insane (or that's what they decided). Life was also pretty nice coupled with the easiness, and his eleventh birthday was just celebrated a week ago. But now that it was over, they of course had to celebrate the other birthdays of the other children.

Most of the birthdays went great as the children were disciplined very early and did not whine or complain or even have tantrums as much as other children in the town who were spoiled and demanded everything and grew up believing the world revolved around them. The ones that went the best though, were his, and his friends' birthdays, well they were to him, but there's a bit of biased-ness to that compliment if it could considered one.

His friends, Jeremy and Gerald, were quite energetic, and loved to laugh as much as any other child, not there were any who didn't like to laugh that he knew of. Their favorite to play was 'Float Tag', which Cud made when they were brain storming on what to play. What it entailed was getting in a medium sized room of the orphanage building and then Cud would make everything float, and was great as it was like flying at certain times and they could do multiple other tricks without the consequence of injury if failed.

Although, they had to make sure noone was around when they played as one time when they were playing, one of the care takers walked in on them and started screaming in shock as noone would expect to see children and the furniture floating and then start to float as well just by being inside the room. Just to shorten the whole story, they got in trouble and were reprimanded, and then the orphanage had a worker of the ministry come.

Cud, and his friends, were afraid for his well-being thinking that he had done something really bad and was going to azkaban, thankfully that was only the imagination of a panicked child. All the worker had done was put an easy seal on whatever magic Cud would have if he had any in the first place, but the worker had obviously and severely underestimated Cud.

The seal was very easy to dismantle for Cud, in fact, it was so easy that Cud was beginning to suspect that the worker was slacking off. Jeremy asked Cud how the heck (children don't swear like that, well I do but that's different) he was able to do that but Cud just said that he put his thread through the lock and it came off, Jeremy didn't understand and was dumbfounded, and just started spacing out. While Gerald was going around and bragging how his friend was able to unlock the seal of someone from the ministry, some of the children believed and were dumbfounded as well, but others didn't. Gerald was smart even though his actions might've told differently, and didn't bother with those children who didn't believe.

...

It was now August, and Cud and his friends had recieved letters in their letter boxes, which were promptly given to them when they were called up to the business room, where all of the business and official stuff happened, or that's all they knew of it. Cud didn't of any schools named 'Hogwarts', so when he asked his Jeremy about it, Jeremy reacted by having the word shock just written all over his face, Cud gave up as Jeremy was easily shocked.

When Cud asked Gerald, he just laughed and pat him on the back. Cud then asked him what was so funny and Gerald had to wipe away a non existent tear from his eye, then he responded by saying:

"How dense are you!? Hogwarts is the most famous magical academy in the world!" Gerald then proceeded to continue laughing as if someone had let out a laughing gas, which then ended a few moments later.

Cud then realised that he'd heard the name before, but that was when the neighborhood children were 10 or 11 and suddenly disappeared and then appeared a few hours later with robes, a stick which he thinks was a wand, and an animal with a few other things like cases and trunks or books. Cud didn't think to ask those children where they went or why they suddenly got those things, but now it made sense as those children had been given a letter before disappearing and appearing with those items.

"Jerm, you get too easily shocked by Cud's denseness, you should do what I do and expect him to be an idiot all the time!" Gerald had called Jeremy by his nickname that he made himself and practically told Jeremy to think of Cud in degrading ways all the time.

"a--AH!?" Gerald was suddenly hit by a soft and gellatine-like rock the size of a fist.

"You wthould mak moar thweets." Jeremy said as he was eating the rock that had the consistency of jello like it was jello, anyone would be wierded out.

"But, who's gonna bring us to...Diagnally? Or is it Dia Gonally, wait, maybe it's Diamond Alle--!?" Cud was trying hard to make fun of this weird sounding place when he was interrupted by rock jello being thrown into his mouth.

What proceeded to happen next was one of the trio's many items-that-are-inedible-made-into-edible-food fights, none of them even tried to think of another name as it was weird enough so it didn't really need a even weirder name.
