The begining

Place: !^?$/*&%$          Time: !^?$/*&%$          Livings: ————

A long long time ago, in a place where nothing existed -a place where nothing could ever exist, time passed. There was no colors in this place, no sounds no forms, no energy, it was just completely empty, devoid of anything. Billions upon billions of what we, humans, would come to call the revolution of our planet around our sun passed. Time passed and yet, this godforsaken place had no changes whatsoever. Alway staying unchanged, unmoved, unlived. An incalculable number of years later, when we would discover this place, we would come to call it -The void. The beginning of all. The Origine. But unfortunately, as of now, no living being existed yet.

Then, one day, for the first time in countless years, something changed. The until now unmoved space trembled and shook. All over the place, where the space shook the hardest, small rips could be seen, from which small wisp of golden fumes escaped and could be no seen rushing towards someplace unknown. Countless rips were coming and going, appearing and disappearing, letting in a countless amount of golden fumes. And with the blink of an eye, everything stopped and turned back to how it was before. The only difference being the golden mist seen floating around. Following the trail of golden fumes to where it kept rushing, stood a huge whirlpool of golden mist radiating a warm golden light. It was so densely concentrated that it almost looked like a golden lake spanning more than 10 km of diametre floating in the middle of the empty space if one did not mind the slow spinning of the lake.

At the innermost region of the golden mist whirlpool, where it was the densest, you could see thread after thread of golden fumes colliding with each others and fusing with one another with a flash of golden light, creating small specks of golden material. These golden speck then collided with one another, creating bigger and bigger particles.

This cycle continued on again and again. Golden fumes rushing towards the whirlpool, attracted by an unknown force, the mist spinning towards the center of the vortex where golden threads collided and grew bigger and bigger.

The rest of the space, other than the area of and around the vortex stayed unchanged. Only the occasional thread of golden mist passing through would disturb these places. Everything seemed to have come back to a semblant of balance after the tremor that shook the space, countless years ago.

Though, this long found sense of balance was quickly broken by the second tremor to ever disturb the space. While the reason behind the first tremor was unknown, this one was due to the golden lake. Having grown enough over the years to be called an ocean, one distinct event could be seen happening at the centermost of the ocean. Countless specks of all sizes were now rushing towards a single point, forgoing their previous rotations and going straight to the center. After countless particles fused into one bigger particle, a blinding light flashed and fluctuated for a bit then disappeared without a trace, revelling a small golden mass the size of a tiny pebble.

After its appearance, the world seemed to be silent, in slow motion, as if waiting for something. Two to three seconds passed without anything happening until the small golden pebble pulsated like a heart, as if alive, never stopping once started. The sound reverberating through the whole space.

Ba-bump... Ba-bump...

Ba-bump… Ba-bump...

Time resumed its course, years passed by, accompanied by the constant heartbeat like sound coming from the golden sea of mist and the occasionals passages of golden fumes rushing towards it. As for the golden pebble, it stayed in place, threads of golden mist coming in contact with it at each instant and being absorbed at the rhythm of the heartbeat.

After millions of uninterrupted years of order and calm, this once empty change welcomed its third world changing event.

A single feeling, coming from the golden sea, or more precisely, from the golden pebble spread through the void like a shockwave.

Joy.

The joy of living- the joy of being alive.

Wherever this feeling passed through, golden fumes could be seen doing whirls and twists, almost like they were answering this joy and were feeling it too.

The reason for this sudden change was that it reached a size of 5 centimeters in diameter and reached a higher stage of being. After years upon years of being fed with this miraculous golden energy- which in fact also made up its body, it saturated every part of its being and allowed it to reach a higher stage of being.

This higher stage allowed him to be more than an inanimate object, it allowed it to host a consciousness of its own, to develop its sense of self. It now knew it was alive and it felt joy for it.

After joy, came excitement. Excitement at being able to to experience things, excitement at everything that surrounded it.

After excitement came elation and after elation, many more came. It was discovering new emotions after emotions, without much time in between each discovery.

After the appearance of these new emotions and of its sense of self, the once calm stretch of emptiness never was calm again. Continually being perturbed by a stream of emotions.

Time passed again. It continued to absorb the golden mist surrounding it and continued to expand in size and each time it grew, its absorption rate grew higher and higher until it had absorbed all of the terrifyingly huge sea of golden mist surrounding it. Its diameter now reached close to a whole meter and for the first time it felt a negative emotion.

Fear. Fear for its life.

It feared because it felt a chaotic force in its body that threatened it. This force appeared when its size was about 50 cm of diameter and became stronger and stronger, making it fearful. It needed to do something. Concentrating on itself, it tried to bring back order over this chaotic force. Yet, no matter what it did, this energy refused to obey it. Suffering from the lashback of this chaotic energy, small cracks started appearing on its body and the space shook. All around, small tiny rips in space appeared and more wisp of golden fumes passed through. The space was shaking so badly that the rips in space were getting bigger and bigger. No longer were they only around 1-5 centimeters in length, they were now spanning lengths of hundreds of meters to a few kilometers, putting the space in such a great strain. Golden mist could be seen gushing through everywhere. As for the golden pebble, cracks kept on appearing and disappearing on its body.

For the first time in its life, it felt pain.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

The small cracks kept getting bigger and bigger, now threatening its life. Feeling the chaotic force in its body, it sighed in hopelessness. It seemed that no matter what, it would……

Crack-

With a blinding golden light escaping from the cracks, it broke in half. Silky golden threads of what seemed like liquid light escaped from every part of it, infusing the space all around with a warm golden light. It could no longer bear with it anymore. It was too painful for it. It was after all, its first experience with feeling pain. No longer fighting against the flow of the golden liquid, its size started to expand, soon crossing the threshold of tens of meters in diameters before finally stopping expanding. Unfortunately, this unwanted expansion wasn’t the end of it yet. After staying this gigantic size for a few moments, its size shrunk in the blink of an eye, passing its previous size, shrinking as much as it was possible for it.

It was then, its body no longer able to resist as well- it exploded. Golden mists getting expulsed to the end of this infinite space. The shaking of the space intensified like never before, even larger rips than ever appeared in space, almost spanning in the thousands of kilometers in length. Golden mist entering the void like crazy, stuffing the whole expanse full of golden light.

And then, just as fast as it came, everything returned to the calm appearance of before its birth. The only difference being the huge amount of golden mist floating through the space.

Years passed by. The golden mist slowly gathered together in pockets throughout all the space, creating some sorts of golden nebulae. These golden pockets were each separated from each others by sometimes less than a dozen kilometers and other time, by more than billions upon billions of kilometers.

As more time passed, these nebulae compacted themselves, strange forms started appearing in their centers. At first, these forms had no true distinction, they all looked like a compacted sphere of golden energy, but as time passed, these spheres grew larger or longer, sometimes the two at the same time. After a years had passed, some of these elongated forms started to sprout limps like appendages and their until now elliptical shapes started to become more defined. Some started look like humanoid shapes, others, animal-like or even geometrical-like. And one day, one of these forms moved. Nothing more than a small mouvement of its limbs, yet it made it clear what these forms were- Livings. Or better called; unbirthed livings. The more defined these forms looked, the more frequently they moved.

Years latter, when their forms were pretty much fully defined, they started to sprout characteristics unique to themselves. They took some colors- some turning red, others brown, blue, yellow or silvery. Some other kept their golden color but took on a different opacity or elasticity. Each and every one of them where different and uniques.

Quadrillions of years after the explosion, theses living being started to take their first breath of golden mist, being born slowly, one after the other. Their birth was quite a strange view. After billions of years of doing only small movements, they suddenly started to move frantically, trying to escape from something glued to their bodies. Sadly, it seemed like not all the being successfully birthed. Some didn’t succeed to escape from the thing glued to their bodies and stopped moving altogether. Their bodies diffusing a golden light, they discomposed into golden particles which returned to being gaseous seconds latter and dispersing out in the void, no longer at their disposition.

These now unmanned nebulus started their cycle again, trying to compress the golden mist in their center in order to create another being.

The number of golden clouds that successfully gave birth in their first attempt was in fact really small. Less than a hundred out of quadrillions of them succeeded. Being the first generation.

Finally free, these varied forms started to move and pull the golden energy around them towards themselves. As the golden mist reached them, they started to shape it. At first uncertain of what they were doing, as if acting on instincts or memories of a long time ago, then as they did more and more shaping, they took confidence and took up speed. Taking hold of the golden energy, they gave it spherical forms of various sizes, sometimes as small as a baseball, sometime as big as themselves, going from 1 meter to 5 meters in height. Looking at their works, more variations appeared. Some decided to add more energy, augmenting its concentration, others took energy out, lowering its concentration. After final adjustments, they took a look around themselves and made their domain expand with a single thought, thinning the golden mist and sending it around, growing the size of their respective nebula. After a while, looking satisfied, they throwed the spheres in their hands out wards, towards some part of their domains. Satisfied with their positions, they locked it in place using the golden mist around and came closer to them. Touching it here and there, they added some golden energy, giving it colors and depth.

Once satisfied with the look of it, they gathered more golden energy and started forming it. This something, most of the time, ended up with the same forms as the ones who created them. Once again adding some colors and other distinguishing features as well as some finishing touches, they made the forms to their satisfaction. Happy with how it was, they gathered a sliver of golden energy and infused them in them, giving them life. Some satisfied, shrunk the size of their creation and dropped it on their spherical creation. Other, decided to create another similar form as the first and made some slight adjustments before infusing it with live too. After that, these now satisfied gods shrunk their new creations and sent them on their spherical worlds. That’s right. These creatures, birthed by the golden energy, were in fact gods.

Master of their own nebulas, having complete control over all the golden mist in their domains. They created things as if it was instinctual for them.

Years passed after the birth of the first gods, and a second generation of gods were starting to come to live. Inside the nebulas who had once failed to give birth, these new forms struggled to break out of something restraining them. It seemed that in comparison with what the first generation of gods had to fight through to be birthed, this time it was many times easier. Yet, even if easier, not all of these new forms successfully came to be. The one who had succeeded calmed down, the others started once again the process, weaker than ever before, slower than anytime before.

The second generation of gods counted in the thousands, many time more than the first generation, yet also many times weaker.

After escaping from their pre-birth states, unlike the first generation who started their work almost right away, they looked around themselves, lost. Some of them started wandering around, looking at every little golden particles that made up their domains. Other stood in place like that, unmoving, for years before doing anything else. It’s only after many years that some of them finally understood what they had to do and started to create worlds and the creatures that would be living in them.

Years later, it was time for the third generation to come around.

The third generation took four times the time it took for the second generation to be birthed and counted in the hundreds of thousands, almost passing one million in number. As for the domains who failed thrice to give birth, they became inert, too weak to try again, too weak to do anything. These unowned golden domain floated aimlessly in the void of emptiness, waiting for something, for someone to find them.

The third generation of gods simply had no ideas what to do, no matter how many years passed, none started creating their worlds. But even though they didn’t create a world, they also didn’t stay inert. After so many years, some started to figures things out by themselves and created various things. Objects of unknown uses, unfinished worlds, unstable worlds, stranges livings forms, and many other things. It’s only an untold amount of years latter that the first third generation world was finally created. But this story is for latter.

For now, let’s go back to the time, shortly after the Golden one exploded. After having all its being torn off and feeling all its energy escaping the confine of its body, it started feeling its consciousness turn fuzzy and then it remembered nothing else. For years upon years, there was only nothingness that its fuzzy consciousness could perceive. But then one day, it felt the world around itself shake and flash of blinding golden light covering its empty world. Feeling hope, it tried to gather the golden energy around itself and to direct it towards itself but it resisted and only a tiny wisp of the golden energy came under its control and was absorbed by it. Yet only this small amount had successfully brought it back from its fuzzy world and allowed it to be, in some way, revived.
