There once lived a girl named Sally. She was the sweetest young thing you could imagine. She was almost perfect - She had good grades, a cute little face, and she was always kind to elderly people and behaved really well. Even her parents were proud of her and though they didn't quite see eye to eye with each other. They both agreed that it would be in the best interest for Sally to stay together. This led to a somewhat strained relationship between them and if you looked close enough, you could see that the love between them was long gone and while this doesn't seem like a big deal to someone without both parents, for sweet little Sally it was the saddest thing.
Now don't get me wrong, Sally wasn't dumb by any stretch of the imagination. She was a clever girl and even if she didn't know everything, she did know that people need something to tie them together and make them happy. For such sweet girl like Sally, the best thing in the world seemed to be a Little brother. You see, she had often wanted one. You could play together, laugh together and have fun together, besides that Sally had seen how happy other parents look when they have a baby. This seemed like such a great idea, but there was a problem... She had failed... She tried asking them and then tried again and again, but alas... Her Mommy and daddy didn't want to give her new brother. They would tell her that she was the only one for them and that a little brother wouldn't be all fun and games as she had imagined. This hurt Sally and for the first time, she found herself crying. She had run out of the house crying and wishing so badly for a cute little brother to play with. She didn't even notice the trees passing by, while she just ran and ran. She kept running for what felt like an hour or two. Finally, she stopped and sat down on forests green, moss-covered ground, where she immediately fell asleep from her exhaustion.
When Sally was little and her parents still loved each other, her mom used to tell her stories about fay creatures who were supposed to roam nearby forests. She told her about spectacular magic performed by them about how some of the fays were good and some bad. Sally never really believed in any of those stories. She was a smart girl, living in 21st. century and kids who believe in fay or fairy stories were laugh at by other kids, but as she opened her eyes, she couldn't describe scene before her as anything other than a fairy story. At first, everything had seemed normal. You could even say it seemed like nothing is out of place or how it shouldn't be and for many people everything would stay that way, but not for Sally. She was one smart girl and immediately she noticed small flickering lights that could be mistaken for stray sunbeams. At closer look she noticed that these light flickers have bodies like a human, but with one exception. They had wings. Amazed by this she forgot her worries, and forgot her mother's warning, not to follow strange things. So started to chase these small light flickers. At first, she just wanted to catch one to talk to them, but then it became a game, a dance in some way. She danced around trying to catch them not noticing that the usual forest had grown strangely dark, thick and intact. It was not the same forest she knew and loved. Suddenly, she came to stop and when she looked around, she could not see any of the small flickering lights she had been chasing around. "Was there any in the first place?", she thought. It was dark and dreary, even unnaturally chilly. As it was summer and usually summers, where Sally lived, were hot even at night. Then she noticed it... It was sitting on the tree. It was a small wooden figurine. This small figurine had a shape of a human, it had arms and legs that were connected by intricate metal parts and a face with a smile that, while most people would say held a mocking/grinning smile, for Sally, who had lived knowing mostly happy things, seemed warm and sunny. Sally had many dolls, but none like this. She carefully looked up to the doll and the came closer to touch it. Suddenly the doll stirred and in small creaky voice asked - "Little girl. Why are you sad?" Startled Sally didn't know how to respond to such a question. So the doll repeated in its harsh and creaky voice - "Little girl. Why are you sad?" Then Sally began to explain what had happened up until now. The doll waited and listened to her story and then said - "What would you give me to fulfil your wish?" Sally didn't have to think twice - "everything!" - She said immediately. The doll nodded and said - "So it shall be!" Then without hesitation, it sprinted into nearby trees.

Sally had been left sitting alone. She waited and waited for the doll to come back and fulfil her wish, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. So she carefully looked at the sky that had suddenly appeared again, even though you could not see it before, and by following star patterns, her father had taught her, she went back home.
When Sally finally reached her home, she was half sure that dog will start barking and mom and dad will run out lecturing her about, how they have been worried sick and that good girls don't scare their parents like that. So it came as a surprise that everything was quiet as she walked inside the garden. There was no sign of the dog, but that wasn't unusual as they lived in countryside and dog tended to run off chasing squirrels sometimes. No, that was not the thing that felt... not right? Strange? Cold? She couldn't find the correct phrase to describe how she felt right now. Was she scared? Yes, she was a bit scared. What if her parent were looking for her while she was already home and she couldn't get inside the house? The thought of spending time alone without the company of her dolls and books scared her, but when she finally reached the door and turned the doorknob, the doors came open. It was dark, there was no light left on. She found it surprising. Somebody surely should be home waiting for her, but there was no one. She flipped up light and let out a scream as she saw the sight before her. The dog.... the dog was everywhere. Head was nailed to the painting in front of her while rest of dog’s body was scattered around. Everything was bloody there were dog entrails everywhere. She slowly backed, but her legs suddenly gave up and she fell. Then she saw them. Her mommy and daddy. They were smiling, not really, it just looked like that with their mouths cut wide open, but their faces displayed pure horror. Both of bodies were mingled together and cut open. Their guts were spilling out and their entrails were tied together. Suddenly a sharp creaky voice echoed - "A deal was made." Then she saw the small figurine on the table, covered in red with a knife in its hand. It said - "Now, come sister, hug your brother real tight!" Then it laughed loudly and jumped on her swinging its knife while the red of her life flew out.
Morning came. It's was quiet. The only sound was fire churning in the distance where the family's old farmhouse was burning bright and if you listened carefully, you could still hear the quiet laughs echoing down the valley.
